Hogwarts was busy and bustling with activities in the hall as Will tried to maneuver his way through the busy hall ways. Unable to avoid bumping into so many people along the way, and he hated being shoved around like a rag doll. Sometimes hitting the wall at other intervals even as he was trying to keep himself from just yelling at someone for hitting him too hard. Just cause he was a hufflepuff didn't mean he wasn't going to defend himself, that was one exception to his quiet nature. Musing over his own thoughts as he realized he needed to head to the library for an assignment that was plaguing his mind, and he didn't really want to ask for help from anyone else in the Hufflepuff common room since he thought it was a subject they already knew.
Hating to ask for help, he was usually found in the library on his own looking for hours on end for other books to study from. Not that he came here all the time as he was usually lounging near where the house elves were, and that usually meant being in the kitchen just chatting with them to see how their day was. Today, however, as he was venturing into the library he also had a certain goal in mind with a pen and paper. The pen was up on his left ear, hidden by his brown hair, while his sky-blue eyes looked out to the library in front of him. Managing to barely make it here alive, the Fifth Year Prefect Hufflepuff made his way up to the many different stacks of books around him.
Having had writer's block for the past few hours, and hadn't found any other prefects to ask about what they thought it meant to be one. Will, himself, really didn't know an honest answer to that, but he figured that they should at least respect all houses. Plus dock points from their own points even if they catch one of their own members doing something bad. It was not a good thing for a prefect to let someone off easily if they are picking on another student, but the only prefects he could see doing that were Slytherins. Not that all prefects were that bad, but it was his own opinion. Wearing the traditional Hufflepuff colors, and the dress shoes that Hogwarts required them to wear. Standing at his usual height of 5'7", he wasn't taller than some, but he was still a rather decent height considering his age.
Will just thought he hadn't hit his growth spurt yet, but suddenly he caught the site of a familiar person, the head girl of the Prefects. Will thought she was beautiful and intelligent in her own rights. Then again, at some of the meetings he knew she tried to get him to get out of his shell a little. Perhaps this was one way he could prove to her that he was getting out more and doing some good as he decided to pick out a book first. Since he didn't want to bother her at the moment just yet after picking out what he needed to study, but the essay he had to write wasn't due for another two days. Not wanting to put it to the last minute, but he never usually did...sitting down at one of the tables looked inside. Setting his journal to the side, and then putting the pen in his hand while the questions plagued his mind that he wanted to ask Raychel.
Finally he just decided to get up and walk over to her to start a conversation taking his books with him. First, he would make sure he wasn't disturbing her as he slowly walked up deliberately to the point so that he was within sight of her vision. "Hello, Raychel, it's me Will, I'm curious do you have time for perhaps an interview to answer a few questions?" he said in his deep, quiet voice, except it was slightly louder to catch her attention.

Raychel ran a hand through her curly hand, brushing it away from her face as her other hand scribbled down her homework, pausing only to dip it into the inkpot before continuing. She heard people come and go, but the head girl was simply too busy writing down her essay for potions. And it was nearly finished, just a conclusion to do she sighed in relief as she dipped the quill once more into the inkpot and begun writing the last paragraph.
Her hand ached after having cramped up a couple of times as she finally placed her quill down. Flexing her fingers she made a mental note to herself to get one of those self writing quills. Leaning back in her chair she stretched her arms. It was good to finally feel them again after a few hours of writing the essay. Man she hoped the professor would be pleased with in, it after all deserved nothing but the best score.
Yawning, she looked around, what was the time exactly, she hoped she hadn’t missed dinner, surely Izzy would have come and found her if dinner was ready. Looking out the window, she saw the light from the sun, ah so it was still light outside, she had ages to go before dinner, oh but writing essays sure did make her hungry.
Her green eyes caught movement and she noticed Wilford. A fifth year Hufflepuff prefect that seemed too quiet for his own good. Waving him over she smiled warmly up at him. He greeted her and was curious to know if she could spare him some time for an interview. "Of course, of course, sit," she gestured to the seat opposite her, curious as to what this little interview of his was about. She leaned forwards, collecting her loose pieces of parchment and essay and putting them into neat piles. "I'm ready whenever you are."

Will was already moving to sit down near Raychel, and was already starting to grasp the concept of speaking with reason. Even though he knew she was the head prefect, she usually called up on him during prefect meetings, however, he did speak up whenever he was defending himself. That was what made him a two-sided coin at times, one day he could be completely quiet, the next he could be ready to explode with a defensive answer that would leave anyone walking away in confusion. The fifth year Hufflepuff prefect certainly had a long way to go in terms of communication, but he was still on the learning curve. Yet, having opened up to Lyra had sort of brought him closer to talking more to other people.
Even as he was shuffling through his papers, he soon picked up a quill and took out some papers as he eventually started to clear his throat, finally nodding in return towards her. "Alright, well, I signed up to write an article for the Hogwarts School Prophet, and I'm wondering if you wouldn't mind answering some questions about what you think a prefect should always act like, and his or her duties during their shifts. Well, I suppose the easiest way to put this is, how would you like every prefect to be to your own standards?" he asked confidently, now she didn't have to tell him anything. In fact he decided he should mention it just in case she was upset he had come to her first.
Either that, or she'd act like a proud Ravenclaw and show her brains and brawn by answering a simple question. Will was unsure, but he was already itching to write down something. A few scratches on the paper with his quill had him nervously reaching for another paper to pull out, but he was always nervous around her since she did intimidate him a little. Even so, he maintained his composure and was acting serious now, like a real reporter should, "You can skip that one if you'd like and I can ask you something else if you don't wish to answer," he added. Most reporters wouldn't have given that option, so he decided to go the easy way without having to make a confrontation about this.

Oh so he was here for an interview for the Hogwarts prophet. That was simply, Lily Potter had come to her earlier to do an interview and it seemed like she was going to be getting a lot of student reporters asking her a whole heap of questions, and ones she didn’t mind answering. Raychel was pretty much an open girl, she didn’t try and hide things and she wasn’t afraid to stand up to the truth.
She flashed him a smile and nodded at him, she was happy to do anything for Wilford. He was such a nice kid, just a little too shy for his own good. She only had a year to help him open up more, it wasn’t impossible to do and she approved of him being on the Hogwarts prophet, it would mean he'd have to talk to others. Progress, she thought as he spoke.
Well, I suppose the easiest way to put this is, how would you like every prefect to be to your own standards?" Oh how would she like every prefect to behaviour? Now that was a tough question and Raychel wasn’t going to back down from the challenge.
The Ravenclaw must have taken too long in thinking when Will spoke up again saying that she didn’t have to answer the question. She waved him off. "Of course I’ll answer it, it’s just the question requires a lot of thought. So how would I like every prefect to act, you ask?" she paused, biting her lips for a second before continuing, "Well I certainly wouldn’t want them all to act the same. No, if that was the case, why not just create robots instead. To me, a prefect should follow a certain guideline: dignity, respect, honour, kindness whilst being fair and enforcing the rules when they need to. It’s the little things in a prefect’s personality that makes them different from each other and yet at the same time, it benefits everyone. People look up to prefects because of their leadership skills and for someone to help in tough situations. Most of all a prefect should be a guide to those that need it." Had she said too much or not enough, it was a hard challenging question and that was the best way she could answer it.

Will was intent on writing this all down so he didn't miss a thing, and that was the last thing he wanted was someone commenting on how sloppy his entries were. Yet right now, he wasn't too concerned with anything that was going on at this moment, even with the many people he could choose to interview, he had chosen Raychel. One of the few prefects he admired and respected, although he was sure deep down she was glad he was opening up a little. Of course, he knew one person quieter than him, which was probably why he was not a prefect. Not that it was any concern of Will's what his friends did or who they were hanging out with.
Just basically showing up whenever someone needed him, and he cautiously paraphrased her answer so it wouldn't seem like it was straight from her mouth. Well, that and he didn't want to write too fast to smudge the character's on the sheet so that he would have to start all over again. Unusual for anyone to even pay attention to him usually, except Raychel had made it a habit to make him talk more. Of course with this school year and being on the prefect's committee it was hard to stay quiet with her watching him. Even though he was sure that he was able to prove he was just as great a prefect as the other ones.
Sure, she had brought out a bit of his shyness at first, but he was getting used to her at the moment. Still currently writing some stuff down on the scroll, he smiled in return towards her, "Well, I suppose that would go along ways especially with the ones that let little pranks slide sometimes, just rumors, I've never actually seen anyone do it. Sorry, that's getting off track, so a prefect shouldn't goof around, is what I'm getting at, but I know that one too. Uhm, what do you think the first task will be for the Champions?" he asked another question, hoping she wasn't being bored by this at all.

The head girl found it cute, the way he held the paper, the poise of the quill, ready to write whatever she said. If only she were a fifth year like him, she'd definitely ask him out. She couldn’t help but smile, watching him write and wondering perhaps her answer had been too long to remember. Well if that was the case all he had to do was ask her to repeat what she said and she would be all too happy to do so.
It seemed like he got everything down those as he begun to speak again, saying something about a few prefects little pranks slide. Oh she heard about those alright, how could she not with being the head girl and although it was supposed to be frowned upon, Raychel knew the students were only trying to have fun, after all she liked having fun too. He asked his next question and this one definitely had her stumped.
What did she think would be the first task? Raychel had absolutely no idea, all she knew was that the champions were meant to work in teams for the first task. "I dunno, perhaps a maze of some sort or even a flying task," she replied, her mind wandering to the male Ravenclaw champion. Ooh how dare he get chosen and not her, she was better than Jaycen, she was much better than him and he was irritating and arrogant at times, so why on earth would the damn goblet have chosen him. "This is off the records but I hope Jaycen fails the tasks, it would certainly knock him down to size a bit," she spoke, meaning that that was to stay between those two. Although she never really hid the fact that she didn’t get along with the head boy, she just acted like she got along during the prefect meeting when what she really wanted to do was hex and slap him.

Will was nodding as he continued to write down things that she said, keeping them on the down low, but when she mentioned that about Jaycen he pretended to put his pencil down. Wilford was definitely going to remember what she said as he hated being brought into the middle of things so he merely nodded in return to her just to agree with her. It was obvious he was shy about his partial subject, however, as a prefect he had to speak up more. Especially now that he was dating Lyra Thornton, the Quidditch captain, and rumors sure had spread fast about them having hooked up during one of Will's prefect duties. Odd as it may sound, it had actually happened that way, but no one had full proof.
Since no one had actually been there, and the only reason anyone ever found out was due to the fact that rumors spread like wild-fire within Hogwarts. Once one person started it, it would just spread until the last person to know was the fool, and a new one had already been started. Will was getting off track within his own mind as he focused solely on Raychel now putting down what she thought the first task would be. Will, himself, didn't know either, so he thought he'd share his views on it too, "I personally think it would be cool if they had the champions going through a fun house littered with many different rooms that constantly change areas...so it makes it almost impossible to get to their goal within the middle. Not only do they have to acquire the object they also have to make it back to the start in one piece, and the other students have an opportunity at stealing the chalice too. I suppose it would be great for a final task actually," he responded.
Then when he heard her talking about the head boy prefect, Will couldn't really say much to that since he didn't have a problem with any of the champions besides Slytherin's. Since, he disliked Slytherin quite a bit, however, he was bound to get another one to pick on him sometime soon. Will then spoke in return to what she thought of Jaycen, "I don't honestly have anything against Jaycen, but either way it's not like we can choose who gets chosen either way. I think that's a little harsh, but to each their own," he commented sounding rather mature. Maybe it was Lyra having this effect on him, which was causing him to grow a little bolder.

Ah sweet Will went on about what he thought the first task would be. A fun house, she hadn’t been in one of those since well when she was a kid, laughing along with her sisters as they walked into mirrored walls thinking it was a door, tripping over each other as they scrambled to be the first one to the centre of the maze. The idea of the fun house brought both good and bad memories. It made her remember the times she had with her sister but then it brought the ones of her dying to her mind. If she were alone, she would have most likely shed a tear or more. She loved her dear sweet Claire Bear and she had been taken from her. A sigh escaped her lips as she zoned out for a moment.
She blinked and realised Will was going on about Jaycen and how what she has said was harsh. Harsh yes but she honestly didn’t care, she spoke her mind she wasn’t one of the girls that kept everything to herself, heck if Jaycen was standing in the room she'd say it to his face. She wasn’t scared of what he would say or what anyone else would say, she wouldn’t be her if she didn’t speak her own mind, something she hoped Wilford would actually do more often. "Was there anything else you wanted to ask me?" she asked, wondering if that was it or not.

Will was just standing there quietly, realizing he must have struck a chord with her, but he was watching her reaction when he mentioned the fun house idea. A touchy subject, he supposed, but he always confused facial reactions with something else usually. It was impossible to tell how genuine he was being just then, but he really didn't have much else to ask. Perhaps, what she did on her rounds during her prefect duties or the worst offense she's caught as of yet, there was so much more he could go off of, especially since he wasn't one to give up just yet.
Raychel knew most of the gossip he was sure, but if she wasn't hanging out with Isabella she usually ended up at the library. Will always seemed to know where most of the other prefects were even if they didn't think he knew. Once more he was starting to hesitate, but he figured that it was now or never to be outspoken, even though he hadn't told anyone outside of Hufflepuff. "I'm curious, what do you normally do, or what is the worst prank or person you have caught doing something bad while you've been on your duties? And did they try to weasel their way out of it? Besides the head boy.." he added the last part in case she tried talking about him again.
Obviously, Will was intent on staying away from that subject, but if he got too uncomfortable, he would have left by now as he was still writing down the many little tid-bits he heard escaping from her mouth. Perhaps he had written a little more down about her particular dislike for Jaycen, but noted that she wasn't speaking with obvious hatred. Will detected there was something more to it, but he figured he should just leave that stone unturned for now. It would rear up it's ugly head later on he was sure.
