Kirian hated it. Memories of Marlee sick were the worst things that existed in his mind. Memories of her fragile form, draped with tubes and wires that were sticking out of her skin every which way hurt him. He cried whenever he thought about his sister dying in a muggle hospital because no matter how much the wizarding world wished they could fight off and get rid of all muggle diseases, so wizards wouldn't die of illnesses such as leukemia and other cancers, they couldn't. He cried thinking about her all, but dead, his dear sister, he loved more than anyone or anything else in this world. She was everything to him and yet, she had almost been taken away. Why? Why was whoever was in charge of when people died or how long they lived trying to kill a sweet young girl, who had never done anything wrong? Why would that person let her suffer from something so painful at such a young age when she was too young to understand, when she had asked him over and over again why she was hurting, why she was being punished.
Tears formed in Kirian's mind as her small, barely audible voice from only a couple of years ago, whispered in his ear, Kir? Is that you? Kir, I'm sorry. I'm sorry you'll be all alone. I'm sorry Kir... These words hurt him more than anything because he knew that Marlee had wanted to die. She had wanted to leave this realm of pain and sorrow and wondering to a place where everything was perfect. However, at the same time she had wanted to live. She'd wanted to be with her big brother whom she loved.
Kirian shook his head. He refused to think about this any longer. He was going to be happy. He was going to laugh. He was going to smile. He was going to forget about Marlee dying, but to forget he had to find someone to help him forget. If he was alone then he would think about her, but if he wasn't then he wouldn't think about her.
He leaned up against the wall and waited, half patiently for someone to walk by him, so he could forget and everyhting could be fine once more.
