Delilah couldn't sleep for some odd reason. Still in her lime green pajama pants and a black tank top and her hair was pulled up into a messy bun. She couldn't sleep for some odd reason. She just laid there in her bed starring up at the ceiling. She had taken down the curtains from her bed. She did not like them. She even took off the posts of the four poster bed and turned it into a regular twin size bed. She didn't care if anyone was looking at her while she slept. She did not like four poster beds for one spiders would crawl up them.
She decided it was worthless trying to fall asleep so she got out of bed and walked out of the dorm room and out of the common room and made her way over to the kitchen. For some odd reason her stomach was now growling with hunger and she thought maybe if she had something to eat it would make her tired! She decide she may as well try that and walked to where the kitchens were at and walked inside with a small smile on her face.
An house elf asked her if she wanted anything and she looked at him. "I'd like a glass of Milk and a plate of Chocolate Chip Cookies please!" she said with an small smile on her face. She was glad when the house elf came back with an plate full of Chocolate Chip Cookies and a glass of Milk for her to eat. "Thank you dear elf!" she said with a smile on her face. She sat there wondering if anyone was going to walk inside and join her for some midnight snack!

Louis wasn’t one for breaking the rules; at least he tried not to. Being a Weasley he had a lot to live up to and sometimes he wished he were born into another family. Of course he never really meant it, he loved his family, especially his sisters; he didn’t even mind that they were always fussed over by their mother. The veela Hufflepuff stared up at the ceiling in his dorm, for the life of him, he just could not get to sleep. What time was it anyways? He wondered as he sighed heavily. Oh he had been yawning all night, but he simply could not shut his eyes and drift off to sleep. As if on cue he yawned for what seemed like the millionth time that night.
He turned his head to look at the others in the room, the only sound coming from them were soft, slow breathing; an indication that they were fast asleep. Oh how he envied them at the moment. Once more he sighed before throwing the blanket from himself and standing. Well if he couldn’t sleep he might as well do something. Hot chocolate, that was something that always seemed to send him off to sleep and before Louis knew it, he had walked out into the Hufflepuff common room and right out of it in the hallway. The kitchens weren’t too far from his common room; maybe if he were quick he wouldn’t get caught. Tickling the pear in the painting that concealed the entrance to the kitchen, he waited for it to swing open before he scrambled in, letting the portrait shut quietly before he turned around.
The Hufflepuff froze in his place at the sight of another. Crap he thought, she was a prefect. Maybe she hadn’t seen him yet; maybe he should turn around and go back to bed. Louis didn’t want to cause trouble, in fact he'd rather stay away from it altogether if he could. An elf appeared beside him, asking what he would like. Well, he thought, she surely had seen him by now; there was no point in running back to the common room. "Hot chocolate, could you make it with white chocolate though," he smiled at the elf, watching the little creature nod before making his drink. Turning to the Slytherin prefect, he sheepishly smiled. "Hi," he spoke, as a mug appeared in front of him. Thanking the elf, he took a sip of the hot liquid, there was nothing better than a hot chocolate at midnight, he thought.

Delilah was happy to be there at the school and she was glad that she was a Prefect. She knew that was one good thing going towards her goal. She was also surprised when she had gotten it that year as well. She couldn't believe it! She still wasn't sure why she couldn't sleep and she wondered if it was because she was just so excited to be a Prefect? She wasn't sure but she was just happy to be here in the kitchen with her cookies. She couldn't wait until the next time she parols and hope it is with Scorpius. But she hoped no one realized that she had a crush on him yet alone him.
She hadn't heard anyone come in but when she heard someone talked she jumped up a bit. She wasn't expecting someone. She turned around and looked over at the kid when she heard what he had requested. This kid should be lucky she isn't on duty tonight. Well either way she was able to take points away from the Hufflepuff house but she was going to be nice tonight since she herself was also supposed to be sleeping. She couldn't help but smile when she heard what he had asked the house elves for.
"Hey that sounds so good!" she said with a small smile on her face. "May I please have some Hot Chocolate too please?" she asked the house elves. They were glad to give her some hot chocolate. When the kid said hi she looked up at him for a moment. "Hi how's it going?" she asked him for a moment. "And what brings you to the kitchen's this late?" she asked him with a small smile at him. "I myself couldn't sleep and I was hungry!" she said for a moment. "Want a cookie?" she asked him with a small smile.

Well so far so good, he thought. There was no immediate taking of points or getting detention, maybe this girl wasn’t so bad after all. Louis couldn’t help but sweep his eyes over the girl, well if she were on prefect duty; she sure had a rather strange taste in clothes. Lime green? But the more he looked at them, the more he realised that they were most likely her pjs. Maybe she wasn’t on patrol duties and that she were just another student lurking out of bed. He had been lucky, oh so very lucky, he thought.
Louis's smile grew when she ordered the same as him. He always thought white chocolate was so much better in hot chocolate, he found it to be sweeter. Taking a sip of his drink, he could have floated away. How did the elves get everything so prefect? He wondered as he walked closer to the girl. It was then the Slytherin turned back to him and spoke. How was it going, her first question, not exactly what he had expected. No he thought she would have asked why he was out of bed so late and then threaten him with the deduction of points. "Uh not so good," he replied. "Can't seem to sleep." He shrugged his shoulders as if sleep wasn’t important. As it turned out that girl wasn’t on duty, but having the same problem as him. It made him wonder, just how many other students were wandering the castle, avoiding prefects because they couldn’t sleep. He placed the mug down on the table before hoisting himself to sit on the table. Picking the mug back up, he curled his hands around it, enjoying the warmth it was giving. She spoke again, asking if it wanted a cookie. He looked down at them before taking one. How could anyone refuse a choc chip cookie? "Thanks," he said before taking a bite of it, chewing slowly before swallowing. "I'm Louis," he said after a few moments of silence. Maybe she already knew who he was; certainly she had to know what family he came from. Then again he didn’t look much like a Weasley; instead he got his looks from his mother. Thinking of his mother made him think of the veela charm and wondered if that was what was making the girl seem nice to him, Merlin he hated the charm sometimes.

Delilah looked at with a small smile on her face she couldn't believe it for a moment. She sat there for a moment wondering why she couldn't sleep. She had no idea why she could not sleep. She wish she could though like everyone else can. She just wished and wished that she could go to bed and dream about anything in the whole world but could not even dream about something until she goes to bed. Which at the present moment is not able to do at the moment since she couldn't sleep!
She looked over at the kid for a moment and thought that he looked like a nice looking kid for a Hufflepuff. "You're a Hufflepuff right?" she asked him with a small smile on her face. She was now curious since she couldn't sleep she may as well talk to the kid. For one he didn't look that bad at all. Even for a Hufflepuff. She tended to pull pranks on them when they at least expected but she for some odd reason hadn't got him yet. She made a mental note to pull a prank on the kid someday. She smiled though when he took a cookie. "You're welcome!" she said as she took a sip of the hot chocolate! "Yummy!" she said as she took another bite!
"Delilah Rookwood!" she said with a small smile on her face. "Weasley I'm guessing?" she asked him for a moment. She had heard a lot from her family that Weasley's aren't to be trusted since they are blood traitors. But she wasn't going to let her parents influence go agaist her best judgement. She was going to judge anyone to her parents believes even though she trusts her parents yeah but she has to make a name for herself not her parents.

He took another bite of the cookie, enjoying the chocolaty goodness that came with it. Anyone that didn’t like chocolate had something seriously wrong with them? What was there not to like about it? Sighing he looked down at the white liquid in his mug before taking a sip of it.
He heard her speak up, asking if he were a Hufflepuff. Wasn’t the answer obvious? Maybe she hadn’t seen him with his Hufflepuff robes on before. In fact he wondered why he hadn’t seen her around, she seemed to be the same age as him. "Yup, I'm a HUfflepuff," he replied. Ah she gave her name: Delilah Rookwood. He had heard of the Rookwoods from his family, mainly his uncle Ron and uncle Harry. They were a bunch of Slytherin purists and whilst he felt like she'd judge him as a blood traitor he didn’t want to get up and leave. It wasn’t like she had done anything to him yet, maybe she was different or maybe his uncles just wanted the family to hate Slytherins in general. Of course he couldn’t hate all Slytherins, after all Albus was in that house. But ugh he couldn’t stand Albus's best friend Malfoy, something just seemed... odd with him.
Turning his attention back to her, he knew she would have guessed his last name. "Yea," was his only reply, "Sometimes it can get annoying, being a Weasley." He sighed, sometimes he wished he had a normal, small family to deal with, not the large one that he had. Of course that didn’t mean he didn’t love his family.

Will was tired, but for some reason he couldn't sleep knowing that Louis had sneaked out to get a snack again. What was with him and those midnight snacks? There had to be a law against them as he kept thinking about it, the more his stomach started to growl at him as if it was hungry too. Will knew better than to break rules, but he really didn't care by this point especially since he was a fifth year prefect. So he could easily get away with it if he pretended he was on Prefect duty. Plus, he could easily get whoever else was there in trouble if he needed to, not that he would purposely try to start a fight.
Will and Louis were mostly best friends, so it was obviously going to be easy to get down there without being noticed if Louis had snuck down there himself. Of course, the only reason Will ever went to the house elves was to talk with them, and get some white hot chocolate. Drooling at that thought he was in his pajamas, that had the hufflepuff logo on them. Just leaving them on, since he could just put on some slippers to sneak out easier. Looking left and right within the boys dormitory of the Hufflepuff Common room, that was test one, the next part was leaving the common room itself. Sure, the dungeons were easy to sneak out of, but it was the question if any other students were still up.
Most of the other Hufflepuffs really didn't care if any of them left, but he knew some of the seventh year prefects liked to wait for them to see if anyone would try to sneak out. Will was lenient with Louis at times, even after having watch him sneak out almost every night. Another reason Will couldn't get to sleep as he knew exactly where he went, but he brushed some of his shaggy hair out of his sky-blue eyes. Finally getting the courage to go into the corridor leading towards the kitchen, he found that there was someone else there besides Louis. Curiously enough he wandered inside with his wand using the lumos spell since the hallways had been darkened at this time at night.
Finally letting it dim out, he soon walked in slowly, scratching his head as he let out a wide yawn, noticing it was a Slytherin girl, but he smiled at Louis. Sounding a little tired, but it was obvious he wasn't here to report them as he was putting his wand away, also wearing his prefect badge. "Oh, hey Louis, and I'm sorry, I don't know you, sorry for being rude..I'm Will, a Hufflepuff Fifth Year Prefect," he said to the girl, holding out his hand, hoping she was at least one of the friendly Slytherins as a cup of white hot chocolate was already appearing next to Will.

Delilah smiled a bit when he had admitted that he was a Hufflepuff! She pretty much had him pegged for a Hufflepuff. She knew she was changing her ways of her family but she decided she did not care anymore. She wanted to be accepted by everyone and plus she was beginning to get her own views on life than her parents. She was realizing she doesn't care if she got disowned by her own family. "I thought you were a Hufflepuff!" she said with a smile on her face for a moment. She was actually having fun talking to the kid.
When she had heard tha he said his last name was Weasley it was awesome that she had gotten it right. "You don't have the red hair like some Weasley's!" she said for a moment realizing his hair doesn't look red. She sort of liked that they aren't looking a like with the flaming red hair of theirs. She looked at him for a moment with a small smile. "So let me guess here you're a fourth year?" she asked him for a moment. "I am of course a fifth year!" she said for a moment with a small smile.
She jumped when she heard the protrait heard once again. She turned around and saw that it was another prefect so she thought he was a prefect. She smiled a bit when he had chatted with Louis and then turned to her for a moment with an raised eyebrow. He was being a bit rude but she was going to let it slide. "My name is Delilah Rookwood!" she said taking his hand into his. "Slytherin's Prefect. I expect we will have duties together sometime soon in the near future!" she said with a small smile on her face.

He smiled along with her, at least she had a good sense of judgement, or so he thought. And then she went on about him not looking like a Weasley, another thing that annoyed him. With Dominique, it wasn’t hard to tell she was a Weasley, the vibrant red hair and the looks of the Weasley family, whereas he was the opposite. It was hard to believe that he and Dom where indeed twins. "Oh well I take after my mother, so does my oldest sister Victoire. My twin, Dominique, now she looks more like a Weasley," he didn’t know why he said all that, it just seemed easy to take to Delilah.
She asked if he was a fourth year and he had to chuckle, did he really look that young. "Actually I’m a fifth year, like yourself," he replied, his smile widening. She sounded like a typical Slytherin at times and yet she was different, perhaps Al was right in that some Slytherins were different.
The kitchen portrait opened and Louis couldn’t help but stiffen for a moment, what if it was another prefect or even a professor coming into the kitchen, he could just imagine the amount of detention he'd receive and well Delilah was a prefect, she could squirm her way out of the situation. But he relaxed a moment later when he saw the familiar brown hair of his best friend. "Hey Will, sorry if I woke you when I left," he apologised although he was sure everyone had been asleep when he left. He took a sip of his drink, listening to the two prefects talk. It wasn’t like he was able to get in on that topic, he himself hadn’t been good enough to get the badge yet he was happy Will had gotten it instead.

Will had been cautious when he had entered, but the kitchen portrait had swung shut, and now here he was standing before the two people he could probably talk to for a little while. Noticing the other prefect, and that she was from Slytherin made him raise his guard a little since he didn't know if she was here to punish them both for sneaking down here. After all it wasn't every day a Slytherin prefect would hang out with a Hufflepuff, the world would almost seem upside down if he didn't rub his eyes after setting down his hot chocolate for a moment. Realizing she was holding out her hand towards him, he was almost tempted to back away a little due to his shy nature.
Plus, he saw it as a silly sign of cheating on Lyra, but shook his head, it was just a hand-shake, nothing bad would come of it. Heck, even if Louis made fun of him for shyly backing away, his best friend knew of his nature around many girls. Of course, when he was with Lyra, his other side was brought out a bit more, despite his shy nature while he's still around her. Sighing softly in a gentle tone as he let the white hot chocolate flow down his throat, enjoying the taste while nodding towards her. "Yeah, I'm a prefect too, and my name's Will, nice to meet you," he said to her softly. Shaking her hand with his own, and not bothering to do anything else with it other than let it go.
Looking over to Louis for a moment, raising an eyebrow, he knew that it didn't bother him if he woke him up. Even so, it was easy to tell when he wasn't in the Hufflepuff room since they shared their quarters, but there were many different rooms within the Hufflepuff male's dorm room. Surely there was much fun to be had in all of the other room as well, but right now he was more concerned with getting caught by a Professor or some other form of teacher. Finally answering Will after contemplating how he should answer without sounding like he had been woken up, and came up with a more likely story.
Oh yes, that's how he had gotten here, and wanted a midnight beverage to calm his thoughts, "Oh, I just came down here for a drink is all, and to see what was up..no you didn't wake me. I couldn't get to sleep," he admitted, nodding to one of the house elves as he smiled towards Delilah not wanting to seem rude after having at least answered her question about if he was a prefect. "Oh, I'm sure we'll have prefect duty together sometime, I look forward to it," he said that just in case she had thought he had forgotten about her, which he obviously hadn't as he had mentioned that now..

Delilah looked at Louis with a small smile on her face. "So Weasley blood is changing I see!" she said with a small smile. Still bloodtraitors she thought to herself. Hey don't think like that! she added to her own thought. She wanted to give him a fair chance and not let her parents ideas influence her any longer. Sure she wasn't exactly sure what she was going on. Del just wanted to have friends at the moment. People could always use friends that was for sure and she knew that everyone could use at least one good friend.
She was surprised that Louis was a fifth year. "You sure don't look like a fifth year. I would have sworn you were either a third or fourth year!" she admitted to the kid. She had to smile. He had the fountain of youth going on there. When the other kid started to speak she had to smile. "Will." she said for a moment. "That's a nice strong name. Your name must be William if you like going by Will!" she said with a small smile on her face as she could tell he was going to his shy side.
She let the two boys speak for a moment. She couldn't help but smile when the two of them were speaking about waking one up as they had left and didn't! When he turned back to her she had looked at him. "Same here I'm looking foreward to it too!" she said with a smile. "So do either of you like Quidditch?" she asked not sure why she was asking that question. She didn't mind watching Quidditch. It was the flying she did not like at all one bit! She didn't like flying fearing that she will fall to the ground and get hurt!

"Not by much, the majority still have the red hair," he replied with a smile. It was changing but only a small percentage. He was surprised that he hadn’t gotten the red hair seeing as it was supposed to be a dominant colour, but he loved his dark blonde hair, just as much as he loved his sister typical Weasley red locks. Dominique and him were twins and yet they looked completely different, almost as if they weren’t related.
Was that meant to be a compliment or an insult, he wondered. A third or fourth year, no, he didn’t look that young, did he? Perhaps he did, he never really took much notice before, then again he never really spent much time in front of a mirror, that was his sisters thing: mirrors, makeup, dresses and heels. How life for a guy was so different from a female's. He shrugged, not really knowing how to reply to that one.
Oh well that was good, Louis thought, he didn’t want to be the reason why Will couldn’t concentrate the next day, he didn’t want to keep anyone up just because he couldn’t sleep. He smiled at his best friend, nodding once.
She mentioned quidditch and asked whether on not they liked it. Being in a family that had the majority on the gryffindor team, how could he not like it. "Yea i do although I wasnt good enough to get on the quidditch team, but i am a reserve keeper for them," he replied, "Do you like it?"

Will was indeed listening to Delilah as she spoke, but his guard lowered as he realized she was one of the nicer Slytherins, which was a nice change. It wasn't usual that he met those, but they had their share of Slytherins that weren't totally too uptight to talk to the Hufflepuffs. It was comforting to know as he visibly relaxed again sipping on his hot chocolate again while staying silent as Louis answered her question about Quidditch. Will found it slightly amusing as he had walked in on the conversation earlier that Delilah had thought he was a third or fourth year. Of course, he kept his comments to himself, since it would just get him in trouble so he let a smile spread across his face while looking at Louis.
Only his best friend could read his facial features, and it was easy to tell he was holding back from actually laughing at the confused look on Louis's face. "Well I kind of do like Quidditch, and since Lyra's the Hufflepuff Quidditch captain, well, yeah....I do watch it whenever she has a game going on," he blushed, admitting a bit too much about himself in that one sentence. Even so, he did enjoy watching the game, but his blood didn't boil every time he saw when a quidditch match was on. It was ironic considering that's how Will had met Lyra was on the quidditch pitch, and Louis certainly knew that. It wasn't a secret anymore, that Will and Lyra were now dating.
Almost the whole Hufflepuff common room had been discussing it and was sure that rumors had spread to many other houses. It was odd for a prefect to date a Quidditch captain, but he didn't care, after all they were just rumors to him. Will then sipped his hot chocolate again, as he looked back to Delilah, since Louis already asked the question for both of them.
