For once, Hughes was not devoting the few hours of free time had researching or conducting experiments. It may have had something to do with the weather being exceptionally beautiful after a full week of rain, or it may have had something to do with Hughes missing the country air. Either way, he was outside. The only thing he regretted was having to wear his robes even when he was not in class. Even though it was fall, the weather was warm for long robes.
Not wanting to fight with administration though, Hughes decided to look around for something to do. At first, he thought about teaching these British kids to play catch. However, there were two problems: They would probably think that it's lame compared to Quidditch, and that he left his ball and glove at home. He could try to get a cardio workout by running around the grounds, but that would look suspicious and he would just feel even hotter with all these clothes on.
Just when Hughes was about to resign to taking a nap underneath a tree, he spotted a familiar face underneath of one. There was that Japanese girl from his Divination class...Yori he thought her name was. They sat close to each other all the time, but never really talked. Come to think of it, Hughes thought. Girl doesn't ever seem to be paying attention, 'least to me. Suddenly, Hughes had a brilliant idea.
Despite it being a sunny day, the grounds seemed void of students. No ever noticed a student sneaking behind a tree and then climbing up it, not even the girl that was right under the tree. A breeze conveniently rustled the leaves to hide the sound that Hughes was making as he positioned himself from above. He sat himself on a thick and low branch. The leaves were still thick enough to disguise him from the world below. Using his strong leg muscles, he slowly swung down. As he descended, Hughes let out a loud “Nyuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu~” The next thing Yori would see would be Hughes' grinning upside-down face right in front of her.
