Kaili looked outside and couldn’t believe that it was so sunny outside. Sitting in the Gryffindor Common Room she working on her homework which she thought it was a bore! Especially since it was so sunny outside. She wonders if she should go out and do her homework outside in the nice sunshine instead out staying inside the school and being bored to death. She sat there and then decided she was going to go outside and enjoy the days sunlight instead of staying inside. She ran up to the girl’s common room and changed into a pair of jeans and a light blue striped buttoned down shirt with a light blue sweater over it and pulled her hair into a ponytail.
She knew it maybe sunny outside but it still might be cold so she went dressed up warm like but she didn’t take a jacket with her even though she probably should have just in case. She ran down into the Common room and out into the hallway and out to the busy hallways which she was used to by now! She couldn’t believe that even on a weekend where they could have gone to Hogsmeade but she shrugged and made her way over to the Black Lake where she sat down on the dock and pulled off her shoes and socks and rolled up her pant legs and put her feet into the water.

As Dominic meandered through the halls he let his mind wander. It was only a few short months until Christmas Break was to arise and he had just gotten a letter in the post from his grandmother informing in, in the most stoic of terms, that his grandfather had recently fallen ill. A simple cold was all that it was supposed to be but the catch was that his grandfather was getting on in age and his immune system wasn't what it used to be. Pneumonia could settle in at any moment without the utmost attention. Dom was worried but refused to let such emotions show. His grandfather was as strong as an ox physically so that had to count for something, did it not?
Feeling a wave of nostalgia crash over him, Dominic set out onto the grounds. The Whittington Manor had this quaint little lake on the property that Dom and his grandfather would go duck hunting at every season growing up. There were rather fond memories attached to the lake, one including taking a local girl, Ruth, out on the lake in the small boat that was typically used for fishing and receiving his first kiss at the mere age of seven. For these reasons and more Dominic found himself ambling toward the Black Lake, it didn't look the same as the lake back home but it would more than suffice.
Wearing a pair of dark wash blue jeans, a green and white rugby polo, and a pair of sensible white deck shoes, Dominic was barely influenced by the autumn chill in the air, content with the rays of sunshine that warmed is skin in contrast. There was already someone on the dock but this didn't hinder him was stepping onto it and approaching the girl. "A thousand pardons but would you mind terribly if I sat with you?" He questioned, always using manners in front of a lady or elder and this girl fit one of those.

Splashing her feet in the water Kaili thought about a lot of things. She was wondering how she was going to past Potions. She wasn't good at it and she knew it. And then her mind wondered why didn't any guys liked her. Wasn't she good enough? Sure she didn't wear any make-up or wear dresses much. But still she could still should be able to get a guy. She ahd a lot of things on her mind and she was thinking them all over. She didn't want to think about them that was for sure!
She sat there though enjoying the sun even though it was a bit cold outside she didn't care she liked putting her feet into the water. She sat there and the next thing she heard was someone speaking to her. She looked up and saw a guy who spoke really polite. She smiled at the guy. "Sure have a seat." she said with a smile on her face. "My name is Kaili what is yours?" she asked him. She had seen him around the school but couldn't figure out what his name was. "So what brings you out here to the lake?" she asked him for a moment.

A smile was always a promising sign, which led him to believe that the girl wasn’t perturbed in the least by his interruption. It had appeared, if appearances were to be believed, that her mind was spinning with unknown thoughts, though thoughts that seemed to be troublesome. Perhaps Dominic being there wasn’t an interruption at all but a relief in the form of a much-needed distraction. Where he could let his wearisome thoughts slowly fade away by escaping to a relevant location, others didn’t have the same luxury. Dominic was thankful for his methods because a place was much easier to find than a suitable person to distract him.
At her acceptance Dom took a seat next to her though didn’t let his legs extend over the edge, instead keeping them bent at the knees in the most appropriate posture he could manage in this particular position. An arm came around securing his legs in place just below the knee and he returned the smile accompanied by his own introduction. “And my name is Dominic.” His head bowed slightly, as it usually did, in greeting. Most people didn’t have the etiquette that Dom possessed and some even found his archaic notions to be strange. None of that mattered however because Dominic was content with knowing he was being polite whether a certain person deserved such a courtesy or not.
Giving Kaili, someone that he unfortunately did not know and therefore couldn’t be a confidant yet, intimate details as to what had brought him out to the Black Lake hardly seemed appropriate, but Dominic saw no problem with giving her a vague answer. “Melancholy, I suppose.” It was honest, which Dom always was. “And yourself? Could it be solely to enjoy the cool refreshment of the lake water lapping over your feet?” It was Dominic’s way of giving Kaili an out if, like himself, she didn’t want to share everything with him.
