Luke was bored. Not just 'hoo, hum, wonder what I could do for a bit of fun' bored, but 'holy sheep I think I'm going to die if I don't do something!' bored. The kid, or teenager as a more accurate term, was bouncing a rock up and down on the ground with a levitation spell, for pete's sake, tapping out a meaningless beat with the ground. He had been reduced to playing with rocks like some primitive form of primate! He sat in one of the nooks that lined the halls and housed a window with a small bench in front of it. These little spots lined each and every hall in the school, and oftentimes he'd see couples cuddling or those studious Ravenclaws perched in the seats cramming for tests months down the line. Logically speaking, that was what Luke should be doing. There was that one thousand word essay that Miss Swanepoel had assigned him on proper uses of the Glisseo charm. She had stressed the word 'proper' so greatly that he'd thought it might break.
It was a funny story, really... She couldn't take a joke, could she? So what if, because of his little bit of magic, she couldn't pick up the needed utensils to write the days assignment on the board? It had just slipped out of her hand and hit another student in the forehead? Everyone in the class had been laughing! It wasn't worth giving him extra work, which was probably why Lucas wasn't huddled away in the library, hunched over meaningless books to figure out when making objects slippery had ever actually been useful in the wizarding world.
He really needed to do something... schoolwork was out of the question, as always. He'd been wandering the halls and the Gryffindor commons room since classes were let out, joking with friends, hanging out, and then eventually they'd all wandered off to do their own separate things and he'd ended up here. Luke supposed that he could go down to the Quidditch pitch and get some flying time in, but there was probably a team practicing there. Then again, it might be a lot of fun to shoot hexes at the Slytherins while they tried to dodge bludgers... Unfortunately, as enjoyable as that might be, it wasn't worth the unavoidable detentions and points away from Gryffindor. In his final year he wanted them to win.
"Engorgio," he muttered, keeping his wand pointed at the stone, which swelled in size until it was as large as his fist. He let it sit on the floor for a moment. "Wingardium Leviosa." The simple spells came easily to him after seven years at the school. The rock floated into the air again, and followed the pattern of his wand, hitting the ground with a much louder 'thud' this time.
(OOC: This is terrible... I'm sorry! I lost my first post of this, and as always happens, my muse failed the second time through. XD)

((OOC: Sorry it took so long, and still not have much. >_< ))
It was a slow day, much to Yori's surprise. It seemed so odd when she thought about it. After all, there had been a lot going on in the life of Hogwarts, and for the most part, had been weighing on her mind. At least, until today. Maybe the entire thing had gotten so surreal now that her body could no longer respond with the panic that had been consuming her lately. She didn't think she minded that too much. It was nice for once not having the paranoia be the forefront of her mind. Her shoulders weren't quite as tense and smiling was a little easier. There was a burst of energy that the Okinawan hadn't expected to have at the moment.
Unfortunately, that also meant she was a bit bored. It was incredibly difficult to try and study for the first task when it could be most anything, and with the energy she currently had, it would be so difficult to focus on small print. She loved reading, don't get her wrong; there were just some days where it wasn't enough. This was usually one of her whimsical days, but as the last time she did something without thinking she ended up stuck in a tree, Yori figured it would be better to find something to do indoors... and maybe with a buddy or something nearby. While the hufflepuff should be working on her independence, for now, screwing around seemed like a much more appealing plan.
Her thoughts stopped short for a moment when she spotted a familiar gryffindor in her wandering in Hogwarts corridors. She let a smile escape, watching Lucas fiddle with some rock using basic spells. Mm, must be a slow day for him too. Sliding her arms behind her back, she easily moved over to him, sliding into the nook beside him. ”Looks like we both need something to do today,” Yori used as a greeting, her smile widening to a grin, ”That rock can't be much, can it?”
