The sound of yowling cats, squeaking mice, hissing snakes, and the pitter patter of running feet could be heard inside the Magical Menagerie. Pets were loose and running everywhere. Already a snake had tried to swallow up a rat or two, and the woman chasing them wasn't sure on where the third rat had gone off to. She finally quit chasing the animals, and with her hands on hips, she took a few steadying breaths. She'd been chasing these animals for a good ten minutes, the muggle way. Being a muggleborn, she tried to catch them that way, as it was good practice. Why give up the muggle ways just because you can wave a silly little stick in the air and get instant satisfaction?
The blonde grumbled as she saw a fat bellied snake slither underneath the table. One of the rats was clearly eaten. Groaning, she finally decided to use magic. Flicking her hands in the air, all the creatures rose up and floated slowly back to their respectable cages, the doors shutting and latching closed. Slumping in a chair, she ran a hand through her pixie cut hair, her fingers tugging gently to release stress. Felicity felt something brush up against her leg and looked down to see a calico cat rubbing herself on Fee's pants. Smiling, she bent down and picked up the kitty, petting its head and murmuring to it in soft voices, using baby talk.
The cat pawed at her face, then swished her tail. Standing up, Fee walked to the counter and set the cat down there, grabbing a food dish as she did. Rummaging through the cupboards, she found a can of cat food and sloshed it into the dish, watching the fake gravy spill everywhere. After the calico began to eat it, Fee concentrated on getting her mess cleaned up. She took a broom and set to work sweeping up the floors, and then wiped the counters and table.
She worked for the Ministry, in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. But she also volunteered to watch this shop for her friend whenever possible. She loved animals to much to ever turn them down. Looking down at her feet, Fee noticed the cat following her around, and smiled. The silly creature was attached to her! Setting the broom down, she bent and picked the cat back up, cradling it like it was a baby. She smiled at the cat and talked to it again, before walking up front because she heard the bell on the door ring.

Ever since the Halloween party Connor has been in the best mood he could possibly be in. He now had a girlfriend and her name was Felicity Jones. Connor was busy counting his till as he had decided to quit working earlier than usual that day. His employees had a handle on it so he knew he didn’t have to be there to supervise them closing down the shop later on. No he had a surprise planned for Felicity that day. He knew that he was helping out at the Magical Menegerie that day and he hoped that either she was done soon or she wouldn’t mind leaving early.
Finally Connor as finished counting his till and he put the money away in the stores safe. He then shrugged his uniform off and then fixed his deep maroon hoodie and hat before he grabbed the bouquet of colorful daisies and a box of pumpkin pasties before he headed on out of the store with a bright smile on his face as he made his way down Hogsmeade. The Magical Menegerie wasn’t that far from Quality Quidditch Supplies so he made it to the shop in a decent amount of time.
Connor had entered the shop just as Felicity had finished putting away the animals. He made sure to have the flowers and candy hidden behind him before he decided to get her attention. “Oh Felicity, I hope you’re having a good day so far, because it’s about to get better!” he flashed a warm smile at her and hoped that she was ready to go out and have some fun.

Fee saw it was Connor who just came through the door and ran to him, leaping onto him to lay a big fat kiss on his lips. Uncurling her legs from around him, she lowered herself back to the floor before blushing and smoothing her apron down in front of her. The cat from out back was sitting on a counter watching them, as if laughing at her playfulness. Looking up hat her handsome new boyfriend, she took him by the hand and led him out back to where all the animals were. "My day is always better when you surprise me at my job!" she said, her eyes alight with happiness.
Ever since the Halloween party at the Weasley's, they had been inseparable. Connor had finally asked her out and she had gleefully accepted. He was so charming and smart, funny and quirky. He was smart enough to be designing his own brooms, and since they were both pretty passionate about Quidditch, it was amazing for her to be able to just sit there and watch him make his brooms, sometimes adding her opinion. They were too cute together these two, and she felt so good about herself to have found someone like him to have in her life.
Fee hugged him just then, her little arms wrapping around his torso, squeezing lightly. He was her man. And even though they'd only been dating for a few weeks, she felt as if she knew everything about him, like he was her best friend. She felt like she already loved him. Maybe it was one of those love at first sight things. Felicity wasn't sure, but she felt strongly about Connor. "And just what is it that you have planned that will make my day even better than just having you here?" she asked, her face alight with joy at the thought of yet another surprise.

Connor smiled at Felicity as she jumped up into his arms. He wrapped his arms around her, being careful of the flowers and candy as he returned her kiss passionately. Oh did it feel good to finally have a girlfriend, and Fee seemed to be the perfect one, it was as if the two of them were meant to be together. And it seemed that ever since he started dating Fee, he had been able to work and think much easier when it came to working on his racing broom line. It was perfect. “My day is always better when you surprise me at my job!” He smiled again, glad that just by showing up to her shop that he made her day better. His heart skipped a beat as always when she took ahold his hand, thank goodness it wasn’t the one with the pumpkin pasties and flowers, he was actually a bit surprised to see that she hadn’t even noticed them yet. He followed her into the back where the rest of the animals were. He looked around at all of them thinking about Ginger (his orange tabby cat) and Blizzard (his snow owl) and how the two of them were probably lazing about this afternoon when he was out and about getting ready to take Felicity on a date. He would just give the two of them some treats when he got home and perhaps scratch Ginger behind the ear as Blizzard was usually content with his treat.
And then Fee was hugging him again. Her warm embrace was something that he looked forward to everyday. Was it really love at first sight for the two of them? Because he was already feeling like they really were meant to be, like they should be married already. But would she think he was going to fast if he already tried proposing to her? That was his fear. He didn’t want to scare her away by proposing early. Besides, he could wait. When it came to Felicity he could wait forever and a day if he had to. He knew he would know when the right time would pop up and he could pop the question, and in all honesty he couldn’t wait. “And just what is it that you have planned that will make my day even better than just having you here?” he broke from their hug so that he could show her what he brought her. A boquet of beautiful colorful daises and a box of pumpkin pasties. “Well first I got these for you,” he said happily waiting to see what kind of reaction he would get from her when she realized that he had these the whole time. “And second, how do you feel about going to a Quidditch Field?
” he smirked lightly hoping that she would say yes and would want to leave right then and there. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Fee looked happily from Connor to the flowers and candies he was holding. She gently took the flowers and candies and planted a kiss on his cheek, standing on her tip toes. Setting the candies down, she waved her hand and a vase appeared, filled with water, and she put her flowers in it. Sniffing them, she enjoyed the scent. How did he know what her favorite flower was? She took a tiny bite of a pumpkin pasty while looking around, making sure that everything was done.
The fat calico that had been following her around toddled over to where they stood, and she bent down to pat her, crooning to her. She promised things about being back later, and to hold down the fort while she was gone. Laughing as the cat nodded her head, Fee stood back up to face Connor. She clapped her hands gleefully. "How do you THINK I feel?" she squealed before taking his hand again. Her little five foot self was practically bouncing up and down as she was so excited.
"I just want you to know, that you're the best boyfriend ever! What are we doing at the field?" she asked, although she had a pretty good idea. Whenever they went to the field, they usually tried out now brooms. His new brooms to be exact. Walking out of her store, she locked the door and gave a thumbs up to the calico, who twitched her tail in acknowledgement. Fee knew that the calico would keep the other creatures under control.

Connor smiled happily as he watched Felicity take the colorful daisies and pumpkin pasties. It wasn’t long before she had made a vase with water appear out of thin air. He kind of half wished that he could do wandless magic as well, but he would just stick to broom making. “How do you THINK I feel?” Connor laughed knowing full well how excited Felicity really was. He loved the way she bounced up and down in excitement and definitely loved the way just the touch of her grabbing onto his hand threw a shiver up his back, and it was one of those amazing shivers of course. He just loved everything about Felicity, was it true that one could find true love at first glance? All though technically the knew each other back at Hogwarts, but it was different than as they didn’t really know each other back then. Now they were adults settled in the real world, and every moment he thought about her he couldn’t help but smile.
“I just want you to know, that you're the best boyfriend ever! What are we doing at the field?” he couldn’t help but smile at her again. “I guess you’ll just have to wait and see,
” he said teasingly as he winked at her. Then within a few moments the two of them had apparated on the spot using side along apparition so that he could bring her to where he planned on having their date. With the swish feeling of his stomach turning as they traveled to thin air and then with a small ‘ pop’ the two of them landed inside of a Quidditch field. Connor stumbled slightly once they had landed, but he managed to regain his balance fairly well. And in front of them was a table that had food on it, only just recently appeared there as he had his house elf get dinner ready for them and there was candlelight in the middle of the table. “ I figured we’d have dinner before we went for a flight around the stadium,” he smiled at her as went to pull out the chair that she would sit at. His house elf was in the middle of lighting the candles and looked over at Fee and smiled. Connor couldn’t help but chuckle at his house elf seeing as the attire he chose today was a miniature waiter suit with a towel over his arm. Connor had never been prejudice against elves and has always let his house elf wear whatever he wanted. “ Good evening Miss Jones,” the elf said politely before he bowed slightly before Fee. Fee smiled as he said she'd have to wait. She was patient. And her patience payed off since she didn't have to wait too long. Within seconds she was in a field. Stumbling a little after landing from their side by side apparition, she fixed herself. Sliding a hand through her hair, she looked up at her man. Then looking around she saw a small table with food all over it, and a house elf in a server outfit. A small part of her got flustered at seeing the house elf, but when she realized that he was wearing clothes, Fee realized that this was a free elf who wanted to help Connor.
So she pushed aside her thoughts and smiled sweetly at the house elf who knew her name. Sitting down in the chair that Connor pulled out for her, she slid into it and waited for him to sit down as well. The elf was lighting candles on the table and she blushed. This was so romantic! She hadn't been expecting this. All the food looked so good and delicious, she couldn't wait to try it! She folded her hands in her lap and waited for her que to start.
"This is all so lovely Connor!" she said softly, her big blue eyes shining across the table at him. A light breeze fluttered around their legs underneath the table, tossing the table clothe around. "And I'm excited to fly with you as well." Still looking into his eyes, she wondered about love at first sight. Ever since that day in the broom shop, when she'd been searching for a new one cause her's was destroyed, she hadn't been able to stop thinking about him. He was always on her mind, whether it was because she saw a broom, or someone who looked like him from behind. Even just the other day she'd been distracted by him at work when she'd gotten an owl from a friend who plays professional Quidditch. She automatically thought of him and going to a game.
Turning her thoughts of love back to the present, Fee smiled sweetly at Connor. "This was so nice of you to set up. I couldn't think of a better date."

“This is all so lovely Connor!” Connor beamed, glad that Felicity loved how everything was sat up. He winked over at his house elf letting him know that everything was going smoothly so far. “ And I'm excited to fly with you as well.” and Connor was glad that she was excited to go out flying with him. He looked over to the side of the stadium where several brooms laid that he felt were safe enough for the two of them to fly on. He gazed into warm eyes; there was just something about Fee that caused the two of them to instantly connect. There was always sparks flying for the two of them that was for sure.
“This was so nice of you to set up. I couldn't think of a better date.” He leaned forward and kissed her softly on her warm soft lips, holding it for a few moments feeling the sparks fly as their lips touched before he pulled back. “I’m glad you like it Fee. That little guy over there is Boras. He’s been with my family for ages now it seems. I’m the one that got to inherit him, but I think it’s cause he likes me more than my older sister,
” he chuckled lightly. “ And ever since elves were allowed to work as free elves we let him wear all the clothes he wants and he still wants to work for us,” he smiled softly as he guided over to her seat and let her sit down. He pushed her chair in for her before he walked over to the other side of the table and sat down. “ I think Boras whipped up his specialty for us today. It’s Potato dumpling soup,” he said lightly as he placed his napkin on his lap and then his soft brown orbs set sites on Fee that was sitting across from him and he gazed at her lovingly. “ Indeed Master Connor, that is why I’ve whipped up for you two today,” Boras smiled before he snapped his fingers and a cart filled with food that he had cooked appeared next to him. “ And what would you like to drink Miss Felicity,” he turned his head to look at Fee waiting for her answer. Felicity glanced around at everything. It was all so beautiful. The way the dishes on the table were arranged, the cute little suit that the elf wore, the gorgeous flowers everywhere. The lush grass underneath her feet told her that a spell had been cast on it to make it nice and vibrant green instead of that dusty old brown that it should be. She slipped her feet out of her shoes and rubbed her toes on it, almost sighing aloud with pleasure. The coolness of the grass on her feet combined with how soft it was happened to be just enough to relax her. Later she would have to lay down in it.
She looked up from her feet just in time for Connor's lips to touch her lightly, lingering there for a moment. The sparks that flew from her lips to his felt like they were really there. It could have been from her rubbing her feet on the ground though. Her skin tingled and she got goosebumps. Raising a hand to his face, Fee touched his cheek softly as he pulled away, her hand lingering before falling back to her side. She was really glad to hear that this elf, now named Boras, had decided to stay and continue to work with Connor even though he was free. It showed that Connor really loved Boras, and him the same.
She looked back to Boras as she was addressed about what she would like to drink. Well, she wasn't into alcohol of any type, and pumpkin juice seemed to be too simple for this occasion. She settled on a glass of water and relayed so to Boras, a sweet smile on her face. "How delightful! I've not heard of potato dumpling soup. I can't wait to try it!" She smiled even wider to Boras, whom she hoped would be excited that his meal was a first time thing for her. She truly had never heard of it before, and was delighted to be able to try it. From the smell wafting through the air she had a feeling that it was going to be good.
"I know I've said this a few times already, but seriously Connor, this was so sweet of you. I've never been treated so well in my life." Fee blushed a little and moved her hand to swipe aside some hair from her eyes. The chemistry between them was growing, Fee could feel it. Her body loved how it reacted when he touched her, when he smiled at her, just when he looked at her in general. She was so excited to be here that she nearly jumped over the table and took him down to the ground just to be close to him.

“How delightful! I've not heard of potato dumpling soup. I can't wait to try it!” Connor smiled at her, glad that she couldn’t wait to try it and hoped that she would enjoy it. Boras bowed lightly before he opened up the bot that contained the potato dumpling soup. He took a ladle out and begun to pour both of them some potato dumpling soup.
“I know I've said this a few times already, but seriously Connor, this was so sweet of you. I've never been treated so well in my life.” Connor loved the way she blushed, the way she brushed her hair out of her eyes. He loved everything about Fee, and already he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. He wanted to be by her side through thick and think. He placed a hand in his pocket toying with the small box he had in his pocket. He knew that many had thought it was early, but Connor had already bought Fee a ring. He didn’t plan on giving it to her yet, he wanted to wait to the right moment, one of the reasons why he ha d bought it so early. But part of him wanted to give it to her right then and there. “Thank you Fee,” he said softly before pulling his hand out of his pocket, leaving the small box inside of it. Perhaps he’d wait until Christmas to ask her to marry him, he wasn’t sure yet. But he knew when the right opportunity came up, he was going to do it without a moment’s notice.
“Miss Jones, what would you like to drink this evening,
” the house elf asked Fee once he was done pouring her and Connor some soup. “ Ask for whatever you heart desire’s Fee, I have all sorts of drinks at home that Boras can just make appear here,” Connor smiled lightly, curious to what she would decide to order that night. He was just so happy that he could be there with her. Perhaps tonight might be the night he should propose…[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Fee wanted to dig right into the wonderful smelling soup, but she knew better. She may be muggleborn, but she was raised with manners! So she patiently waited for Boras to ladle them out some soup. While she waited, she looked all around them. The field had so many wild flowers growing, all sorts of colors and kinds. Her fingers wriggled in her lap. Connor was acting a little strange today, but he was probably just nervous to be on this first official date together. She too was nervous, and her left leg jiggled just a bit with jitters underneath the table.
Upon being asked to choose something to drink, Fee furrowed her eyebrows, thinking. Well, she really wanted some wine, but wasn't sure if that would be inappropriate. She loved wine, it was one of the only alcoholic beverages that she drank. She wasn't a big drinker, but she loved to curl up on the couch with a good glass of wine and a book. It was always so relaxing. And right now she wanted to feel relaxed.
"Umm, would it be too out of line of me to ask for wine?" she said quietly to Boras, whom she hoped would understand and tell her what would and wouldn't be out of line. Felicity looked across the table at Connor. He was so handsome sitting there. She looked into his eyes and knew that he was thinking hard about something, she knew that he got sparks in his eyes when he was hard at work thinking up new broom ideas, so maybe he was thinking really hard about other things right now too. "Connor dear, you have done so much for me tonight. Is there any way I can help you out with anything? I could only hope to give you such a wonderful date and time as you have given me tonight," she said, smiling big and almost blushing.

“ Umm, would it be too out of line of me to ask for wine?” Connor smiled before he looked over at Boras and nodded lightly. “Wine for the young Lady and I’ll take a butterbeer Boras,” he smiled lightly and then with a snap of Boras’s fingers a glass of Butterbeer appeared before Connor and a glass of wine appeared before Felecity. He hoped that she would enjoy the wine as much as he was enjoying the time he was spending with her.
Boras had than sat to work on filling up both of their plates while Connor took a drink of his Butterbeer, gazing at Felecity with love in his eyes. “Connor dear, you have done so much for me tonight. Is there any way I can help you out with anything? I could only hope to give you such a wonderful date and time as you have given me tonight,” was this his moment of opportunity? He placed his hand inside of his pocket, twirling the ring he had inside of it. Perhaps now was the time to ask her? Sure they hadn’t been together for very long, but he already loved everything about Fee and often felt that he had known her his whole life.
He glanced over at Boras as if looking to Boras for a suggestion, but of course the house elf was working on getting them dinner. Besides, the house elf didn’t know what he was feeling. Heck, he didn’t even know if Boras had ever been in love. He never asked Boras before. He just always paid him to be around when he needed him and let him go off and do his own thing when he wasn’t needed. He then turned to look at Fee again.
“Well… There is one thing…” he said lightly as he carefully took the ring out of his pocket, though he kept it under the table where she couldn’t see it. “Fee, I know we’ve only been dating for a short time, but I feel like I’ve known you my whole life,” he started lightly as Boras finished filling their plates and then he moved the cart away from the table. “So I hope that you accept this token of my love and perhaps become my wife one day?” he asked her happily after he had gotten out of his chair and kneeled down beside her. He then held up the beautiful diamond ring before her so that she could see it.

Felicity swirled her wine around in her glass, watching the bubbles creep up the sides. She kept sending sneaky glances towards Connor but couldn't figure out what he was thinking. He seemed to be so out of sorts, so deep in his own thoughts. Fee wasn't sure what was going on, and part of her wanted to just dash all thoughts of his behaviour from her mind and eat. So she tried to, and set her glass down and began to eat again.
Soon though he was talking again and he caught her attention with his apprehensive voice and she looked up. He seemed fidgity and she set down her silverware. A look of concern passed over her features before her face lit up in a fierce blush, finally understanding what he was saying. Folding her shaking hands in her lap, she watched as he got down on one knee and presented a ring to her, asking her to marry him.
Tears leaked out of her eyes and Fee nodded her head slowly at first, then vigorously. Falling from her chair to wrap her arms around his neck, Fee cried happily into his shoulder. "Of COURSE I will Connor!" she said, kneeling in the grass. She didn't care about the meal anymore, or about the wine, or that they were in the middle of the most beautiful field. She only cared about the fact that Connor has just asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. "I feel the same way! Oh I'm so happy right now!" she said, practically squealing. Her body shivered with excitement and something she could only call adrenaline.

Connor’s heart started to beat faster as he waited for Fee to respond to him. He watched her intently, wanting to remember this day for as long as he was alive. The look in her face and the shine in her eyes as he pulled out the ring and the glee in her voice as she said “Of COURSE I will Connor![/s]” and then her arms were around him and he wrapped his around hers before picking her up into a huge hug. So joyous that she said yes. They didn’t need to go flying on the brooms or finish their dinner. The evening was already perfect with her saying yes. “I feel the same way! Oh I'm so happy right now!” He twirled her around in happiness. Everything was just so perfect. He hoped that she would want the wedding sooner than later because really he just wanted to see her walking down the aisle to him in a beautiful white dress while he actually wore a tuxedo for once. He could just imagine it, and he would make sure it was the perfect wedding for her. After all, he did own a shop and could afford it.
He gently sat her down on the ground before him and then took the ring out of the case before taking ahold of Felicity’s delicate left hand and gently he put the ring on her ring finger. “I can’t tell you how happy I am that you said yes Fee. I can’t wait for the day that we get married.” he smiled softly before he leaned over and gave her a soft kiss on her lips.

Fee kissed Connor on his lips, her soft ones brushing against his. Smiling into the kiss, she felt him hug her back. He slipped the ring onto her finger and she held her hand out in front of her, admiring the stone on her finger. Connor, its just... just... Amazing!" Hugging him again, Fee stood up and brushed off her clothes, looking at the house elf. Was he in on this? Smiling she waved her fingers at him and sent a silent thank you to him. "Connor, I can't wait to get married to you. We should have a summer wedding! We should have it in a big field, with you and me at the top of a hill!" Already excited about this, Fee thought about all the people she would have to invite.
"I'm sorry I'm already going crazy with ideas, I'm just so excited!" Clapping her hands she bounced up and down again. She could kiss him over and over again. It would be heaven. It would be awesome for them to live together, and she couldn't wait! As strange as it seemed, she felt like it would be cute for them to live in a little cottage, in a field where he could work in his shop on his brooms, she could have children and animals, and they could fly together all the time.

“ Connor, its just... just... Amazing!” Connor blushed as Felicity took him into a hug again, and of course returned the hug. It just seemed like everything was a dream, the whole night, no their whole relationship. Yes their relationship was a dream come true, and he didn’t want anyone to pinch him awake. “ Connor, I can't wait to get married to you. We should have a summer wedding! We should have it in a big field, with you and me at the top of a hill!” Connor didn’t care when or where the wedding was as long as she was the one at the end of the aisle, that was all that mattered to him. It could be a simple wedding or it could be the most spectacular wedding (which he had a feeling it would be the latter) but either way, he just couldn’t wait to be married to her as well.
“ I'm sorry I'm already going crazy with ideas, I'm just so excited!” Connor smiled as he laughed lightly. “Don’t worry about it Fee, plan away all you want, I’m pretty sure you can come up with better ideas than me. But a summer wedding sounds splendid and I wouldn’t mind it being in a Quidditch Field…” he joked lightly after all their love for Quidditch was one of the many things they shared with each other. “You know… maybe we should get a place together? I know I’ve told you I live with my sister in my grandparents’ house… but I think it’s time I should move out,” he smiled lightly, plus his niece and nephew were getting to the age that he didn’t need to be around to watch them anymore, one of the reasons why he moved in with his sister. Sure they would be sad to see him move out, but they could visit him anytime they wanted.
