I don't know about everybody else out there, but sometimes I find it really hard to find threads for my adult characters. So I was thinking there could be a really small mentoring program where a few select seventh years could be paired up with an adult working at the Ministry, St. Mungo's, etc, or with specialists in particular fields (for example, Potioneers, Herbologists, etc). Only a few select seventh years would be chosen because we only have so many adult characters working in legitimate businesses. In the case of specialist fields, it could be for students who have particular potential in that field and intend to continue in an apprenticeship after finishing Hogwarts.
The idea IC is that the seventh years need to go somewhere next year, and this is Hogwarts' way of helping with that. It doesn't necessarily have to be a wholly formal process. It could have resulted from the interviews from their sixth year with their Head of House who could have given the sixth year some point of contact if they thought was necessary or particularly helpful. Or it could be some other more formal process where a few seventh year students are specifically chosen for whatever reason and paired up.
What do you think? This idea has been sitting and stewing in my head for a while and it's about time that it gets out of there. Good? Bad? Meh?

I actually really like this idea. Considering there's that gap there between Hogwarts and the real world, it makes sense that there would be some sort of internship program available for students.

I will look into getting this implemented! Perhaps this would be something more for 5-7 years. (5th years would be best cause it'd be right before they would take their owls to decide what classes they can take! And well, they need to know what classes they need to get the job they want!) But I'll look into setting this up! You should see a sign-up in the near future!
