She was sitting alone at the end of the gryffindor table, not really hungry. She was deep in thought about the events that had occurred. There was the attack on Hugo, the incident in the woods that she had yet mentioned to anyone, and then there was that fight right outside the great hall with Albus and his group. So far it seemed things were getting from bad to worse.
She looked around the room and noticed Albus not surrounded by his friends. She needed some answers to the growing questions in her mind. She stood and walked over to the slytherin table. She was glad that she was invisible to most eyes or else there would have been so confrontation when she sat down in an empty seat across from Albus. She too a deep breath wondering if she was doing the right thing. "I hope I am not interrupting anything, but I wanted to ask you a couple of questions. Nothing bad, I just wanted to clear a few things if that was alright?" She asked trying to seem as innocent as she could.
This was completely against her normal nature. She never would have confronted Albus with her questions before. However, times were different now. She knew that James was hard to approach with such topics and she only hoped that Albus was more reasonable. It was also a stream of luck that he was alone. She couldn't pass up the opportunity to try and talk with her best friend's brother and rival.

Albus didn’t know what to do these days. He felt that the atmosphere of the school around him was growing darker. Things were happening and Albus wished he could figure out who was behind what was going on. Hugo had been attacked not too long ago and no one knew who was behind it, and what happens the next day, well his brother (if he could even call him that), James, had blamed him saying he was the one to attack Hugo. And on top of that he tried to hex Al from behind his back! The nerve of James, well thank goodness at the Quidditch match he was able to one up him and catch the snitch before James did.
But then something else happened. One of his best friends had gotten attacked as well. Sure it wasn’t while they were on school grounds, but when Theia had snuck off to Knockturn Alley she happened to meet Jacob Warrington there. And of course Jacob had to hurt her. Albus was now squeezing the fork he held in his hand and that was when Albus remembered he was still sitting in the Great Hall for his lunch. Scorpius and Theresa had already left saying that they had things to do, sure Al had things to do as well, he just wasn’t in the mood. There was too much on his mind to even think about any of the essays he needed to write for his classes.
He looked back down at what was left on his plate, a few peas and mashed potatoes that looked like he had been playing with them rather than eating him. But he really wasn’t in the mood to eat. Perhaps he should just retreat back to the common room and down to his four poster bed. That would probably be better for him, just to lay down and relax, but he wasn’t going to be able to do that just yet. “I hope I am not interrupting anything, but I wanted to ask you a couple of questions. Nothing bad, I just wanted to clear a few things if that was alright?” His gaze went upwards and to the right as his emerald eyes met Alaya’s dark green ones. Alaya was definitely one of the last people he expected to see after what happened a couple of weeks ago.
For a moment there was silence around them as Al didn’t even know what to say. He never thought Alaya would come up to him out of the blue and want to ask him some things. “Umm… Okay,” he said cautiously as he put his fork down on his plate it wasn’t like he was going to finish eating anyways and he was a bit curious as to what she would want to ask him. Did James even know that she was there?

• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • How should she phrase her questions? That was the hardest part about this little endeavor. Yeah it did take some guts to walk over here and to even attempt to talk to Albus, but finding the words was harder. She had nothing against the slytherin or his friends it was just she did not know how seriously she would be taken with the label of one of James' followers. She really hated being considered that but she couldn't help it if James happened to be her best friend. So what if she was seen mostly around him and not too many others, that was just her personality.
Alaya figured she would start off simple. Just to get a simple conversation started and to make sure there were no hostilities towards anyone. "I know I am the last person you expect to be talking to you at the moment but I do believe it is important. First things first, congratulations on catching the snitch. I never did get the chance to properly congratulate you. Second, I have only heard rumors, but is it true that there was an attack on one of the students outside the school grounds?" The last statement was kind of off topic. However, she had been over at her apartment that weekend and had heard some thing at the bar that seemed strange. But with the attack on Hugo she did not know what to expect.
With that said she needed to word her last part correctly. This was the main reason for her random act. "I also wanted to ask you about your relationship with James. I know it is a touchy subject and I have no real room to be saying anything about it. However, what started the fighting and well is there any way that it can end peacefully?" All she really needed was to understand the situation a bit more so she could help out in some way. She felt useless last time when James confronted Albus. She did not want to feel that way again.

“I know I am the last person you expect to be talking to you at the moment but I do believe it is important. First things first, congratulations on catching the snitch. I never did get the chance to properly congratulate you. Second, I have only heard rumors, but is it true that there was an attack on one of the students outside the school grounds?” Yes she was right about the fact that she was the last person he had expected to be talking to, but he had raised his eyebrow at the fact that she had mentioned about the very attack he had been thinking about. Of course he felt that he shouldn’t tell Alaya that it was Theia that was the one who had gotten attacked, that was for sure.
He was going to say something, but then it seemed there were a few more questions that she wanted to know. Wouldn’t it have been best to let him answer them little by little rather than having him to think about several questions at once. “I also wanted to ask you about your relationship with James. I know it is a touchy subject and I have no real room to be saying anything about it. However, what started the fighting and well is there any way that it can end peacefully?” his gaze was sat right on her. Did she really have to ask that question? There was no way in Hell that Al would try to end it peacefully especially since it was James that had started the whole thing. Was this the real reason why she wanted to talk to him? James probably sent her, and quite frankly he wasn’t happy about it. If James wanted to end things peacefully he should come to him, not send one of his lackeys.
He pushed his plate away and got up from the table. “Why don’t you ask James why it this all started, he can tell you the answer to this,” he glared at her as if daring her to try and prod further into it. He didn’t care if she tried; she wasn’t going to get anything out of him. Perhaps James knew that him, Scorp and Theia were trying to figure out who it was that attacked Hugo and of course James would want to know what they’ve found out and try to take all the credit for himself. He didn’t even feel like continue this conversation and had turned around to start heading out of the Great Hall, yet at the same time he felt that there was a chance that she was going to try and get him to answer the questions.

• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • She knew that this was an almost lost cause but she still had to try. She wasn't going to give up that easily, not when what she was trying to find out was so important. She had to say something that would stop him from leaving. Sure she could follow but there was only so much she would do. Yes she could just go ask James but it wasn't as simple as that. Now what? She had to think quickly. "Alright so peacefully is not going to happen, no harm in asking" How was she going get to this boy and find the information she sought. She needed to hit a nerve. It could make him stay or it was just make the conversation end even faster than it had started.
"This confirmation is two sided and there is no way to make a judgment or even to work with the situation if you do not have all the information. But hey maybe I was wrong. Maybe the Potter boys are all the same which is the only reason you don't get along. If so then I am very sorry for bothering you, but you are not like James are you?" Alaya challenged. It wasn't the best thing to say but it was the only thing she could come up with. Hopefully he would start talking if only to try and prove that he was not like his brother in any way. She wasn't really good with the whole family issues since she wanted everyone in her own family to die. No she looked at this as a rivalry between two people.
She folded her hand on her lap as she sat sideways on the chair. She was starting to believe that this really was a stupid idea. She laughed slightly as a thought crossed her mind. She wondered what would happen if James found out that she tried to talk to Albus. She shook her head with a smile. It would be an interesting conversation, thats for sure. James was to proud to admit anything, which is the main reason for her being here and not trying to talk to her best friend.

“Alright so peacefully is not going to happen, no harm in asking,” well she sure had that right. Unless James were to come up to him and apologize to him about all the hard times he had given him just because he was in Slytherin, there was no Albus was going to try and end anything peacefully without an apology out of James first. It didn’t help that his father never tried to stop the taunting either. Al had always felt like an outcast when it came to his family seeing as he was the only one to be sorted into Slytherin. Not that he hated the fact that he was sorted into Slytherin. Sure it was annoying how everyone thought all of the Slytherins turned into dark wizards, but Al was going to prove them wrong.
“This confirmation is two sided and there is no way to make a judgment or even to work with the situation if you do not have all the information. But hey maybe I was wrong. Maybe the Potter boys are all the same which is the only reason you don't get along. If so then I am very sorry for bothering you, but you are not like James are you?” Al stopped in his footsteps. Did she really just say what he thought she said? He turned around to look at the young Gryffindor Champion, his emerald eyes glaring at hers. “Of course I’m nothing like James. I don’t go around blaming everything that goes wrong on a certain house, nor do I make fun of someone that got placed into a certain house,” he said cooliy really wishing that Alaya had never came up to him in the first place. What was the point of bothering Al if he knew nothing about the attack on Hugo. Well at least he was going to make it seem like he knew nothing as him, Scorp, and Thiea had a small idea in their head that they might know who it was that went after Hugo. Of course they were still putting the pieces together as didn’t want to go around accusing anyone without any hardcore evidence.

• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • It worked, she hit some nerve and he did stop from walking out of the great hall and her leaving completely empty handed. What he said was very interesting and she was able to piece together what he said with what she knew very easily. This might actually go well if it wasn't for the fact that she really felt like she was ticking him off. She did not want a fight, because if that happened she was not in the right situation to defend herself. She was usually not the person to start fights, just try and end them.
She had to be very careful with what she said next. She didn't want Albus to explode right there in the great hall. Not when she was trying to act inconspicuous. She did not want rumors floating around and for James to take the whole thing out of proportion. "Well that did just answer some things but not all. She locked onto his gaze with her own bright green eyes. She was calm and calculation and it shown in her eyes. She was not about to give up on this, not now that she already started to dig her grave so to speak.
She took a deep breath still keeping her eyes locked on his. I get it. You have better things to do and frankly you don't want to talk to a Gryffindor who you believe was sent by your brother" that was a shot in the dark but she was running out of ways to keep him there. "I can't make you believe what I have to say or even listen, but let me just say this. It doesn't just effect you two, you know very there is more at stake this year than before" There it was the very thing that could either cause hell to break free or worse. She would just need to hold her ground and wait.

“Well that did just answer some things but not all.” he rolled his eyes, not really caring that he answered only some of her questions, it’s not like he really wanted to answer all of her question in the first place. Why were all Gryffindors so nosy? It really was annoying and made him glad that he was placed in Slytherin instead. “I get it. You have better things to do and frankly you don't want to talk to a Gryffindor who you believe was sent by your brother” oh so now she was going to admit that she was sent by James? Figures she would, of course James would do something like this, was he not man enough to come up to him and talk to him? Has to send is friend instead? He really wished James would just grow up and learn to fix his own damn mistakes. That was really bothersome as well.
He was going to turn and leave again, he didn’t need to stay here and talk to her, nothing required him to and he didn’t want to. Perhaps he should go find Theresa and Scorpius and tell them about how Alaya had came up to him and started asking him questions, wanting to fix whatever kind of relationship him and James had. Hmpf, like he really wanted to fix that. He’d leave it up to James on whether or not to fix it as James was the one that started it in the first place. “ I can't make you believe what I have to say or even listen, but let me just say this. It doesn't just effect you two, you know very there is more at stake this year than before,” of course when he’s trying to leave she would try to speak again to try and get him to stay. “You don’t think I know that there is more at stake this year? You don’t think I realize that things feel different this year? Of course I do, but that doesn’t mean I need to get along with James. I’m closer with Hugo than he is, he just doesn’t realize it. I’m closer with both Rose and Hugo than he is, there’s no doubt about that. And quite frankly, I’m not looking to get along with James, he’s the one that started this mess of a relationship we have, so it’s up to him to fix it. And if he doesn’t well I could care less I got more important things to worry about than that insufferable annoying idiot who thinks he’s all high and mighty,” he told her with his back turned towards her, he didn’t need or want to look at her anymore. He just wanted to get out of the Great Hall, go somewhere a bit more quiet and at that moment the shrieking shack sounded like a good place to go. He could just send Theia and Scorp a letter saying where he went, he actually wished he knew how to make his patronous talk that would be much easier and faster. “Now if you’re done bugging me for answers you’re not going to get, I’m leaving,
” he said before he started to walk away from her again.

This was getting more interesting by the moment. Yes it was proving a little difficult to get him to stay. There was so much more she wanted to know and she had this nagging feeling that Albus and his friends knew more than they would be willing to tell, at least at this point. As interesting as the conversation was, it was mainly one sided and she needed to figure out how to turn it around. She didn't want to anger Albus but that is what seemed to be happening at that moment. She had little experience talking to people like this. It was kind of annoying. There was also the little problem of Albus seeing her as only James' friend. That label was really getting on her nerves. She wasn't going to not be James' friend but people needed to realize that she wasn't another follower.
Alaya listened to his comment and could not help but to laugh at his comment about James being an insufferable idiot. "There is no doubt that James has an overly large ego and really needs to get off of his high horse at times to see the bigger picture. With the incident earlier I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to scold me for talking with you" She wasn't going to lie, James acted high and mighty a good portion of the time, but he had to have other qualities that made up for such aspects of his personality. "As much as you may hate James, you two are not trying to kill each other every time you see one another. With that said, your broken brother relationship can be mended and James does need to make the first step. But I have to ask. If he tries, knowing him it would be a strange way of going about it, would you be willing to listen?" Alaya stood up. She could easily cut him off before he left the great hall but that would just make this all the more troublesome.
One more thing, just one more statement that could make him listen, or answer. Either or would be amazing. At least something that could maybe end this on a good note. "You know there is an old saying 'Help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who ask for it'. If I am not mistaken the one who said it happens to be the person you are named after. You and your friends are going to need help later on, however the form it will take is not something you choose" Great now she sounded like an old professor giving riddles. So she did talk in riddles to confuse people. She knew her way around words but she did hope that Albus was smart enough to get the hint, or at least wasn't fed up with her to the point of not caring.

In all honesty, Albus was getting tired of hearing the girl rambled on and on. It was obvious that she wanted him to stay and talk with the way she had gotten up as he was about to try and leave. It was really annoying; if he wanted to talk to her he would’ve talked freely rather than holding back and barely saying anything. Whether James sent her or she came there on her own, he didn’t care either way it was pissing him off talking as if she knew how his and James problems were. Yes they had problems, yes it was worse than your normal brother rivalry and yes he did not care to try and fix it. James had done too much damage and had proved time after time that he really did not care for Albus. Who would care for the only Slytherin in the family? He even noticed it when his own father and James seemed to be a replica of his father, always so cold when it came to the Slytherin house.
“As much as you may hate James, you two are not trying to kill each other every time you see one another. With that said, your broken brother relationship can be mended and James does need to make the first step. But I have to ask. If he tries, knowing him it would be a strange way of going about it, would you be willing to listen?"” would Albus listen to James? Most likely not because Al would believe it to be some sort of a prank because that was just how James was and Albus really didn’t care whether or not their relationship went to the normal sibling relationship or not. He didn’t answer her question, instead he continued to look away from wanting to just get away and he knew there were only a couple of places he could that, the option he chose: heading to the Slytheirn Common Room. So what if she followed him there, it wasn’t like she’d be able to get into the Common Room. There was no way he’d let someone that wasn’t a Slytherin inside of it.
“You know there is an old saying 'Help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who ask for it'. If I am not mistaken the one who said it happens to be the person you are named after. You and your friends are going to need help later on, however the form it will take is not something you choose” did she really think that statement would get him to stay? He knew who he was named after and he knew almost all of the famous sayings that Albus Dumbledore had. His father, mother, aunts and uncles have told him many stories after all. But it wasn’t like he wanted help at the moment anyways. “You don’t think I haven’t heard that before? Honestly I don’t really know why you want to just keep talking to me. It’s not up to you to fix mine and James’s relationship. And too be honest, I couldn’t care if we have a strained relationship for the rest of our life. I don’t need him anyways,
” and with that he began to head on out of the Great Hall. He really needed to get away from her before she made him burst.
( I don't think Albus will give her the info she is looking for. >.< )[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Alaya knew this wasn't going anywhere. Not that the whole conversation wasn't interesting. It was the first time she had a conversation with James' younger brother. She only shrugged her shoulders. "Well since you are not at the point of trying to kill each other on site, there is still a chance" She laughed slightly as she spoke. That was how it was with her family. She knew real family hatred and nothing would change her opinion of her father or mother. She knew that if she ever saw her father again one of them would not make it out of the meeting alive. Sad thing to say but considering her history is was appropriate.
"Well I must say that was an interesting conversation. Maybe next time it would be on better circumstances" Alaya was about to head out of the great hall knowing that this was just about over. It was a short conversation but it did last longer than she had thought it would. She made it obvious she wasn't going to give up but she knew when to back down and bide her time. "Oh and tell your two friends good luck in the tournament, considering I am sure you will see them before the task as where I most likely will not. Then again they don't need any luck, now do they?" If taken the wrong way it might sound like she was making fun of his two best friends. However in reality she was sincere in what she said. The slytherin team was a strong one and also not to be underestimated.
She started to walk towards the door of the great hall. She placed her hands in her robe pocket, kind of shocked to feel a small book there. She pulled it out realizing it was the handbook on plant classification. She opened it up to the page she left off on and started reading. It was defiantly a strange way to end a conversation. She was acting as if nothing had just happened. That was normal for her, but what she did next wasn't. She looked over to Albus and bowed her head slightly as if thanking him for his time. Respect was a very important thing to her and so she showed the same respect to those who deserved it. However, this situation was a bit different in many ways. She was grinning as she turned her attention back to the book.
