if i leave my heart with you tonight promise me that you're gonna treat it right. | The way towards the Headmaster's office was a familiar path to her, not because she was in trouble, but because she often reported those that were in trouble. But today was not the case, no, she was wanting to speak to the headmaster for a completely different matter. She hadn’t told anyone what it was about and hoped that come time it would be a nice surprise for the girls at the school. Running a hand through her blonde curls, she sighed, gathering her hair in her hand at the nape of her neck and tied a hair tie around it, keeping the unruly curls off her face.
Standing outside the headmaster's closed door, she felt a rush of nerves, what if he denied her request, it wasn’t like she had told anyone so what would be the problem? She would have felt like she let herself down as well as every other girl. Surely the headmaster would give into this one tiny request. Raising her hand she knocked softly and waited.
Was that voices she heard behind the door. Oh perhaps the headmaster had visitors. Maybe she should come back later when he wasn’t so busy, after all she was in no rush to ask. And she didn’t want to impose, especially if it were the minister himself that the headmaster was talking to. Maybe it was another student or perhaps the headmaster was simply having a good ol' conversation with the portraits of the previous headmasters and headmistresses. Turning she decided that it would be best to leave, come back another time. Taking a step, she paused, was that feet shuffling across the floor in there. Maybe she better stay in case the headmaster decided to find out who was disturbing him.

Kingsley wasn't busy at all and in fact he was quite thrilled at the prospect of having some company. Flourishing his usual purple wardrobe that gave him a rather mystical air about him. Glancing up at the many portraits of the previous headmasters and headmistresses it was a wonder they had survived in those moving photo frames. Sadly, he wasn't about to go talking to any pictures on the wall like he was sure many of his predecessors had. Once more, there was the feeling of being watched as he turned to look at the newer portrait of his former colleague in arms. It was then during that second wizarding war when his long-time friend Albus Dumbledore had died, but he hadn't done it in vain.
In fact, Kingsley remembered that battle to this day, and it didn't haunt his memory since they were victorious. Kingsley would have to write Harry Potter sometime to see how he was doing, otherwise there would have been rather awkward situations in their meetings later on. Even now and then he would usually answer Harry's request to meet personally outside of his office. Kingsley was focused on the tasks, but he had more pressing concerns to attend to. Not bothering to put any effort into finding out the attacker just yet since he knew that some of the students would do their best to route out the fact there was a certain group he was watching.
It wasn't beyond him to sense who was trying to hide their minds from him, and he was obviously tapping his fingers against the desk as he finally hushed one of the portraits from talking. Soon he was looking towards his son who had carried the news with how the ministry was doing. It was hard to request an audience with Kingsley, but for his son he could make an exception. Kingsley was incredibly proud of his son, and surely had placed his faith in the fact he had been placed in the right house. Never doubting the sorting hat was a fine quality he had too, but he still had to pay more attention to Slytherin.
They were of the rambunctious time, and he wasn't going to let them get away with anything they wanted to. Nodding to his son, as he finally had gotten the update on what the Ministry was doing with the aurors, he needed to relax more. Watching Bart get up and leave soon left Kingsley with other matters to attend to. There was no rest as headmaster and as he was stepping up towards the door to exit it to actually check on the other students he did have a little time to just chat with one of the students he could have told was waiting there for him to open the statue for her to enter. The same statue that had been standing there for a while as he soon snapped his fingers making the gargoyle spin around as he then gestured towards Raychel to come up as if he was expecting her.
"Please, come in Ms. Entwhistle, what pleasure do I have of having you here? Someone else causing trouble again?" he said to her in the same flat tone that Dumbledore would have used if he was still around. Of course, he was just giving her that smile that graced his ebony skin, and those full lips parted to show his pearly white teeth a little. Eyes sparkling a little in curiosity as he moved to sit down in his chair.

if i leave my heart with you tonight promise me that you're gonna treat it right. | Not long after she had knocked the statue moved, making her jump back. She honestly didn’t expect the headmaster to dismiss his present company just for her. She saw no one leave though, which was strange, she could have sworn she had heard someone in the office. Ah well she figured it wasn’t polite to pry into things that didn’t really concern her.
She ducked her head in a show of respect as she stepped into the office. Her green eyes glanced around; the office was so familiar to her these days. The rustling of clothes brought her back to attention as she watched the headmaster sit in his chair before she moved to sit down. "I hope I haven’t interrupted anything sir," she folded her hands on her lap.
She took a deep breath, would he agree to it, of Merlin she hoped he would. "I know the Yule Ball is still a month away, but I was wondering if I could request something for that night," she started and figured it wasn’t polite to keep him waiting. "I was wondering if it is at all possible to allow the girls attending to be able to use the prefects’ bathroom for that night. A separate password could be given out for the girls which would only work for that night. I just thought it would be a nice surprise for them." She stopped and bit her lip. crossing her fingers on her lap, silently praying that she could give the girls that were attending the Yule Ball this one small surprise, besides they had to make sure the female champions looked good for their first dance right?

Kingsley was curious as to what Raychel had planned, but he doubted that closing the prefects bathroom off to the general public would be a horrid thing to do. No, in fact he was curious if she was going have a make-over session planned for each of the female champions. It wasn't beyond her power to do such a thing, but he had to take her request into consideration for the other students. Holding that airy tone that many of the previous headmasters and headmistresses uses making it sound like a half-answer. "Say we were to do this, would this effect any of the other students? Keeping Hogwarts open is a must, but I am sure many will let slip an empty prefect bathroom that only a select group of female students can get into. We don't want it getting too crowded in there," he merely said to her.
Crossing his fingers between the spaces in his hands as he gave her that twinkle-eyed smile that seemed to let on more than he really knew. Or was it the other way around, curious to the core, but he was just as curious himself. Riddles weren't his thing, but Dumbledore had been better than him at this. Aberforth had disappeared once Kingsley took the reins from him, and amusing as that seemed to him he had to decide if he would want to close off the bathroom. Deciding to actually go with this, he soon started to harrumph a little bit for just one second to clear his throat.
Looking at Raychel again, he soon spoke again, "Alright, I'll grant you permission this one time, don't let my generosity get to you," he said in an amused tone, winking towards her at that. Turning his attention to the portraits on the wall, he soon had to think up of a secret password she could use. Kingsley really had no trouble at all finding the prefects bathroom as he then turned back to Raychel easily ready to put a protective spell over it. "What would you like to use as a password?" he asked her curiously.

if i leave my heart with you tonight promise me that you're gonna treat it right. | It was nervous sitting there watching and waiting for a reply, her fingers entwined themselves together; her hands clasped on her lap. Why did people have to drew out the tension, it was a simple, yes it can go ahead or no it can’t. Finally he spoke, saying that he didn’t want the place to get crowded, was that a yes or no, she still wasn’t sure. "Well sir, it'll be for those the female students that are going to the ball, as I recall fourth years and below aren’t allowed to participate unless asked by an older student, unless you plan on having all years attend the event Sir," she spoke, always in the polite tone she used with the professors.
Again the silence was nerve wracking. If only she could find out what was going on in his head, what problems was he thinking of, why should he allow it, they were just some of the questions she wanted read the answers from his head. Perhaps when she was out of school she could learn Legilimency. She blinked, curses at herself silently, this was not the time to think of things such as learning a new skill, this was the time to wait for an answer.
She glanced up at the old headmasters and headmistresses, giving each one a polite smile before her eyes rested on the last portrait: Professor Dumbledore. There were many great things about his man, and although Headmaster Kingsley was a fair and decent headmaster, she sometimes wished that Dumbledore hadn’t died so that she could learn from the great man she had been told about.
Drawing her eyes away from the portrait, they found Professor Kinglsey's face again. He actually agreed. "Thank you sir, of course not sir," she almost gushed, excitement filling her to the very core. But then he asked what password she wanted. "Oh uh I haven’t thought about that sir, I didn't want to get my hopes up to high by coming up with a password in case you didn’t approve of it," she replied.

Kingsley was curious about this still even as he sat in his chair pondering her actions, but she did have her reasons for doing something like this. After all she was the head girl and deserved at least to have the rights to the prefects bathroom in the long run. Not many people could really deny her the privilege of how she earned the title, but it wasn't a long time coming either. Kingsley had no doubt she'd lead the school to a great victory if it came down to it, besides butting heads with Jaycen Tate...amusing as it was. Important matters would come first as he listened to her, and then spoke almost right after this time after weighing her words for a moment.
"Well, if it makes you feel any better, how about we make it avidoras, just for personal measures to make sure other students stay out of it, I will grant you this request, and was there anything else on your mind? Oh, no, it's only for fourth years and above, no one under will be able to go...we don't want to be responsible for a tragic accident or loss of house points for such a thing," he said to her softly. It was always the same way each year, but there wasn't always a Yule ball, only during the time when the champions all met together. Ah well, Kingsley would have to add Raychel's request to his list of things to do. Not bearing any thoughts or consequences of what could have become of Dumbledore's brother.
Aberforth would have been a better headmaster if he actually had stayed around before ...almost too happily handing it off to Kingsley.

if i leave my heart with you tonight promise me that you're gonna treat it right. | Using Avidoras as a password, it could work...wait what did he mean by personal measures. Oh, she thought a moment later, wasn’t Avidoras his middle name? Kingsley Avidoras Shacklebolt, ex minister of magic and current headmaster at Hogwarts, she recalled reading from a book. Well if he was find with them using his middle name as the password then she was fine with it too. Only for fourth years and above, just like it was every tournament Yule Ball. She nodded once to him, understanding. No one wanted anything to happen during the Yule Ball, especially to the younger students. Even having points taken away from a house was a dampener on that night. The Yule Ball was meant for celebrations not for handing out detentions and docking house points from students.
"Thank you so much again sir. I promise that the bathroom will be spotless the next day," she smiled at him. She didn’t care if she had to get up early to clean the bathroom herself...wait no she'd get the girls in her dorm up to clean it. Izzy would more than likely be the first to help; it was Maharet that would most likely seem a little reluctant, not wanting to damage a nail or something.
Was there anything else on her mind? Well...yes there was, but it was nothing pertaining to the Yule Ball or any event happening at Hogwarts. "Actually yes there is," she started, "We haven’t heard much on the attack on Hugo and well i was wondering, was it just a harmless prank that went horribly wrong, or do we need to be alert for more possible attacks?" If it was the latter, she believed she ought to know so that she could instruct the prefects to keep a better watch for anything strange and unsuspecting, she wasn’t going to let the students be attacked if she could help it. "Also i was wondering, was there anything you'd like me to pass onto the prefects at our next meeting, or are you happy with the way things are going with them?" Might as well get everything done in one sitting she thought.

Kingsley knew what she was thinking and personally would rather avoid those questions as much as he'd have to answer them. Now it was his own fault that he brought this upon himself after all, but he had to answer her questions. Whether they were true or not, or would help her in any case that was up to her to decide how to use them. Curiously stroking his chins lightly, he knew she was all business when it came to visiting the headmaster, which made up for most of his talking with anyone else. In fact, he hadn't heard from the head boy in a while, and wondered if he had anything planned for the prefect boys.
Surely there would be something to help him decide who would get the passwords for the Yule Ball, and the whole champions thing was taken it's toll on him. Investigating the attack wasn't the top of his priorities unless it happened again soon. Rumors of another one going to happen soon didn't really help him, but he knew fully well there were some seers in the school. Kingsley was going to have to pay more attention to them. Speaking slowly he raised a hand up to stop from asking more questions before he got too bombarded with thinking.
"I'm sorry to say but I can't reveal any information about that at this point. All I know is that his attackers are experienced, and as far as we know there isn't anything else. Aside from the fact Hugo's toad has went missing. As for the prefects, I really have nothing more to report other than to keep instructing them as they are and to keep a look out for anyone suspicious...even if it's just meaningless pranks, some of them are just acting....that's my thought. I will be sorting out this mess sooner or later after the tasks are done, since that's taken up a lot of my time too," he said plainly to her, not beating around the bush like he normally did since he knew she'd get bored if he gave her half-riddles for answers.
That was one thing Dumbledore was good at and confused him just as much as most. Although he found he had a tendency to do it himself.

if i leave my heart with you tonight promise me that you're gonna treat it right. | She opened her mouth ready to ask more questions, well aware that her first ones had been answered yet and many of those answered would answer her other questions, when she saw him raise a hand, stopping her from making another question. She closed her mouth and sat back in the chair, listening to the headmaster. Oh, she should have realised that he could divulge any info about that. His attackers were experienced. Who in this castle was experienced in attacking defenceless people, who in their right mind would want to attack an innocent student. Sure there were many that didn’t like the Weasley family because of what they and Harry Potter had done during the second wizarding war, but that was no excuse to simply attack someone. Hugo's toad went missing? Oh, she thought, not really concerned about a missing toad. Many toads often disappeared on their owners, it seemed like toads didn’t really like being kept in one spot for too long. Besides there was nothing that toads were good for, besides toad soup and...oh, she thought again. No one would be stupid enough to even try and pull that off, maybe Hugo's toad simply hopped away and out of danger, and is still waiting to be found.
It seemed like he was happy with the way the prefects were handling things and happy with the way her and Jaycen were instructing them. Well that was good, she thought, at least they were doing something right. Keep an eye out for anyone suspicious. She nodded at him. Of course she'd keep an eye out for anyone suspicious or any suspicious behaviour. "Of course sir. One more thing, do you need any help setting up the tasks, I know some of our prefects are champions, but perhaps those that aren’t can help with setting things up while you can deal with the more important things." She had a feeling that he'd say no, but still she had offered, it was the least she could do seeing as he was granting her request to use the prefects’ bathroom to get ready for the Yule Ball.

"I'm afraid not Ms. Entwhistle, and I appreciate the offer, but the minister doesn't want any students to get involved just in case they try to divulge information for their own use to perhaps help certain people with the next task. Not that I'm indicating you or any of the others would actually be unaware of the dangers of doing so and I'd rather not risk that. If there's nothing else, a good day to you, and please, I am looking into this matter...I need to contact the Minister about the attacks after the first attacks since he has to prioritize with us too," he said rather calmly as if it was already being handled. Folding his hands and giving her that smug look that Dumbledore always wore when he hid something, but was hard to tell otherwise.
That unreadable expression his face surely annoyed a lot of students, but he wasn't going to mentio what he was really thinking right at that moment in time. Curiously reading her own expressions in return, and perhaps knew more about her than she knew about herself. A sympathetic look crossed his face, and had to congratulate her on something, oh yes he remembered now. After all, it had been a great match and he knew that her captain wouldn't have given her the praise she deserved. Kingsley would have to talk with that lad when he got a chance to, Seizel really needed to have more team spirit besides just giving a thumbs up.
That rumor had spread throughout Hogwarts easily, but an after-party had been set up for all of the Ravenclaw quidditch team along with the tower, so he was fine with that. Crossing his fingers between each other, considering he was done talking for now and waited for Raychel to take her leave if nothing more was to be said.

if i leave my heart with you tonight promise me that you're gonna treat it right. | Ah fair enough, what the minister wanted the minister got, not that she had a problem with the current minister. In fact she believed he deserved the position more than anyone given what he went through during the second wizarding war and his son hadn’t turned out so bad either. "Its alright sir, I completely understand," she spoke, not feeling dishearten at all. In fact she knew the chance of him saying yes was very slim. She hadn’t gotten her hopes up, just meant she had to wait like everyone else to find out what the remaining tasks were. Attacks after the first attack, it sounded as if there had been more than one attack. Why had the teaching staff kept those attacks quiet, were they possibly linked to whoever attacked Hugo?
Perhaps it was best she didn’t push the issue further. As much as she wanted to be constantly updated in these matters, the professors were more than likely on top of things. Kingsley was a better professor than many realised. Oh they thought he was great, but they didn’t realise just how great nor the effort he put into the school and his students. Did she have anything else to say? No she couldn’t come up with anything else at the time, knowing her luck though she'd think of something as soon as she left the office, but anything she thought of could wait until she saw him next time. "Once again, I really appreciate this sir, thank you," she stood, smiling down at her headmaster before she turned and headed for the door, happy that her request was being granted. The girls that weren’t prefects were going to have a field day in the prefects bathroom, they were going to be lucky enough to see it. Now the only thing she wondered was if Kingsley was going to announce it or if she had to.

Kingsley was alright with what had happened just now and then he just decided to give Raychel some peace of mind as he had announced that he would do this at the great hall the following day. Of course he'd also have to announce when the Yule ball was going to be up and running at the same time. Prefects would definitely have access to Moaning Myrtle's bathroom on the floor she had requested, and soon snapped his fingers idly to get one of the paintings to pass the message along to all the prefects when they saw them. That was a more efficient way than the great hall and smirked at Raychel for a moment as she had turned to leave.
Well, at least she had a healthy future ahead of her and no one would stand in the way of that. WHatever path she took he hoped that she would find true happiness and not delay in fulfilling her dreams no matter what they may be. A dream that was left unfulfilled was worthless in his case and shouldn't even be worth pursuing in the long run. Finally just giving up on his own ideas he soon looked at the wall and towards the painting of Dumbledore once more. One of the greatest headmasters he knew, and now here Kingsley was trying to make up for his brother's absence. Instead, Aberforth was doing god knows what with his time, and he wasn't going to plan on pestering that old coot to even bother coming back unless some terrible event held them back from killing him too.
Ah well, Kingsley knew Aberforth was safe, and that meant that he would be back to defend the school when it came under attack. Even if it was infiltrated somehow they would be held off, but that wasn't the least of his concerns as the second task was. Soon they were going to need to make it so that there would be a regular routine check on all students as per usual after such an attack like last time. Kingsley wasn't even going to announce what had happened, but he had at the last great hall announcement during the goblet ceremony. Ah well, time would move on just as he did, starting to file papers in a meticulous order.
