REASONS WHY NMS WENT FROM CHATANGO TO CBOX

REASONS AS TO WHY NMS SWITCHED FROM CHATANGO TO CBOX:

I understand that not everyone likes it that I switched us to Cbox, but there are several reasons for it.

• First, when spammers come (and we’ve had some problems with this) it’s not as easy to control them with Chatango. I cannot see their full IP address, so I cannot ban them on the site either. Also, with cbox I can ban someone using their IP if I know it and they hadn’t posted in the cbox or delted all of their messages, if I need to ban someone (which I hope that we don’t)
  
• Secondly, in chatango I can only go back so far to look at previous messages. If something happened, say yesterday morning, most likely with how much we talk I cannot go and look to see what all went down, whereas with Cbox I can see any message ever written by logging into the account on the Cbox site.
  
• Thirdly, for those that use their iPods, iPhones, and other smart phones (minus androids as they have Java) people can chat in the cbox while on their phone as I know many that go on their phone to get on the site, one of them being our own Admin, Kara.

Those are the three main reasons why I decided to switch. I understand that it isn’t as customizable as Chatango is with changing your font colors and other things, but those are minor reasons to stick to chatango versus the reasons why I changed to cbox. Yes I know it’s a pain if you want to private chat with people using the cbox provided on the site with the new way it works, but you can still use chatango just by knowing each other’s chatango accounts. I’m sorry if this is an inconvenience for anyone at all, but if you really want to use chatango instead, like I said before I can provide a link within a board that only members can see. Why is this you ask? To control spamming much easier. There has been a recent outbreak on many sites where spammers have been involved, even our site has dealt with spammers.

Once again I am sorry to those of you that prefer chatango over cbox.
