HOUSE POINTS ?!

So we need to get some house points for the four houses. I know I already have a couple of ways people can earn house points, but I'm thinking that perhaps we should have more! So I would like to hear from all of our beloved members for ideas in ways to earn house points! Because, well it would just be uber fun to get all of you lovely member involved! So post in this thread with any ideas you have and we can talk it out and decide what to have!

Perhaps there could be a post count/house points system for students? Like every post equals a house point or something like that? Post count in the games board might have to be disabled to discourage cheating, but it would be an easy way to get some house points just by updating it every week or two weeks or so. Then maybe every 100 posts or so a character gets a 50 point bonus to their house?

That sounds like a good idea I'll just have to get that set up if we end up doing it. I'll disable post counts in all boards that don't involve actual rp posts tonight then probably will have to go through and count what everyone gas so far.

Sure! If it was me I might just disable it in the boards that have nothing to do with roleplay at all, like the general talk and such, since plotting does involve characters, but yeah, it's up to you. Glad I could help!

If you don't want to do post count, there is always every completed thread could earn points. Like it would need 5+ posts to be counted, but when it's over they get points.

There's also recruitment. If you can get a friend/someone on the board and they get to 5+ posts, then you get x amount of house points.

Every time your character attends class till the end, they get points. Which would get lessons going and house points.

hmm to add to vin's idea about attending classes, how about 5 or 10 points to every student who completes a piece of homework?? it'll encourage people to post in the homeworks too then?

Well Teachers can definitely have it to where their students get points for doing homework. Teachers can set a reasonable thing with that. All they have to do is once the time frame to hand in the assignments is over, they are to PM my admin account to get points added.

I already have it to where people get Points for recruiting a friend. If you take a look at the Current House Point Rules you'll see it there! Haha!

I was thinking of adding in extra points for attending class. Though I'm thinking that with the once a class is over with I will take a look at the class and see who posted in there. I think I'll make it to where they'll get 4 extra points for every post they make (so technically they are getting 5 points for every class post they make)

I've also been thinking about adding in House Points earning for every article a person writes for the Daily Prophet. I'm going to make it to where anyone can submit an article, but only those character's signed-up are required to do an article every month.

Starting a thread
For begin active for a month

15 POINTS
Posting 450 words
Replying to an open thread (only once per thread per character)
For getting a member to join (member joining must tell us who told them of the site)
For being active for 3 months

20 POINTS
Posting 550 words
Finishing a thread (for all involved in the thread)
For being active for 6 months
For reaching 50 roleplaying posts

25 POINTS
Posting 650 words
for being active for a year

30 POINTS
Posting 750 words
For reaching 150 roleplaying posts

35 POINTS
Posting 850 words

40 POINTS
Posting 950 words
For reaching 500 roleplaying posts
