Remy Lestoat was just practicing his usual routine when the band stopped playing that was currently hogging the spot light and people were chatting. Considering it was starting to actually get quite interesting when they were singing their song, but he had to keep his own stuff going on too. It wasn't every day that he got to just sit back and relax for a bit even though his time was already up. Remy honestly knew that he had probably lead the crowd up to the band that played after him. It was common for him to get questions about his heritage and where he was originally from. Back then he really didn't know since his home town had basically been demolished and it usually depressed him when people knew about his real name.
That was why he currently traveled London, but right now he was just enjoying a drink while taking a break from telling tales. Having his lute across his back, but today he wore complete black. Of course he had shades on too to take the part of a cool vampire that had lost his hair in the eighties. Usually his tales were about vampires or some strange far off wizard that had done some great deed to change the world as they saw it today. It was funny to Remy that he could make up any story on the spot and they'd believe him if he could spin a tale on the spot. Normally not that great under pressure but no one honestly needed to know that from his perspective.
Remy looked like a man in black from the way he dressed as his hand slicked back his hair slightly and his blond hair wavered only a little as he took a look to his left. There were some pretty beautiful women there, but alas he was taken. Although there were times when he had to let his urges take over. Blood lust was something he wasn't proud of having given into at some point, but today he was just relaxing. Deciding to check out the band for a moment or two, but he shrugged his shoulders rolling them forwards a little. Remy really had no interest in anyone chatting boring drivel and really wanted to learn someone's story as he turned around using one arm to lean on the counter as the rest of his body faced outwards. Remy sighed and wondered who could try to brighten up this dreary night that it was going to be since he had already told his little story that had put some of the women there a little too at ease. As Remy was rather good at seducing people just through the arts he used for his bard songs.

She shouldn’t have been out of the castle at this time of night, especially not at The Three Broomsticks. Students weren’t typically permitted in Hogsmeade. Viviana had never been much for rule breaking. There was something to be said about order as a necessity in life. For anarchy to reign would have been, as the name entailed, disastrous. But as she had been sitting in front of her vanity mirror brushing out her long silky hair and staring at her beautiful, yet ghostly reflection, something was calling to her. Even being as far apart as they were Viv had sensed that her father was near. Blood was such an important part of a vampires life and her father’s coursed through her own veins, sluggishly, except for when he was in the vicinity, at which point the blood stilled giving Viviana the undeniable knowledge that he was close enough to see if she so wished it. She always wished it.
He must have been gracing the crowd with one of his bard songs. Looking behind her at the three girls that were already tucked in bed letting sweet visions fill their dreams, Viv silently walked to her wardrobe slipping into a white dress, plain and simple, giving her the look of a Woman in White, one that she hoped would be enough, with her alabaster complexion, to make whoever might see her on her path to Hogsmeade think she was a ghost and leave her to her wandering. It was a method that she had used in the past. Where it would have been just as easy to move quickly and put that vampire speed to use it seemed like a short cut, which she wasn’t too fond. It was in her nature to be deceptive after all.
Moving through the halls she seemed to glide rather than walk, such fluency rivaled by even the most elegant of dancers. In fact it only helped to give off the appearance that she had been hoping for. She took a secluded path through the forest, making certain not to get her dress dirty along the way, to get out of Hogwarts and found her way to the small dirt road that lead to Hogsmeade. The moon was shining its silvery light in beams, bright and invited, though they were broken usually by dark clouds passing by. In the distance, from the dense woods that she had just moments ago exited from she heard the distinct sound of a werewolf howling. It set her teeth on edge, barring her fangs, her eyes lighting up with an animalistic defense, and quickened her sluggish pace.
Music wafted the playful melodies out into the street as the door to The Three Broomsticks shot open and a couple came out stumbling and giggling, the man attempting to croon whatever song had been playing previously, a love song it seemed as he was doing with drunken best to serenade his lady. It was awful, his pitch and well as his voice, but it seemed to be doing the trick. Both stopped in their tracks however when they noticed that she was a mere foot away, head tilted slightly to take in the sight of them. Smiling Viviana slipped past their slack jawed stares and into the pub, eyes seeking out the one who she had traveled to find. And there he was, Vivi’s heart raced at the sight of her father, their time together always few and far between. Quietly she approached, her fingers tenderly running over the lute that he carried around, though not enough to strike a chord and interrupt the current music that was playing. Head dipping down she leaned in close to her father’s ear whispering an excited hello before giving him a kiss on the cheek.

Remy was having fun just drinking the artificial blood he had been given as a drink and at least that would tide over his hunger for now as his fangs seemed to scare many people off whenever they sat near him. It was just an unusual habit of his to flare them at people when they got too close, but in this case he didn't need to worry. Remy had indeed felt a pull at his blood telling him one of his offspring was close to him,but he wondered what they were doing out here so late when it was time for them to be back at the castle. Obviously not happy that they had gone to sneak out just to see him, but he supposed it was within reason that she came here after hearing about where he worked.
Ears had already perked up way before she had entered the place as his hearing was definitely superior to most creatures, but he had all the great qualities of a vampire that weren't exactly halved. Of course, Viviana could at least walk in the day where as he couldn't without having a severe burn or being left as a burning corpse. Obviously the last thing he wanted for his family was to be burnt by the sun when he just wanted to see dawn one last time. Considering there were easier ways for him to live in the sun, but those were too vague to even consider the possibilities about what potions he could use to let him bask in sunlight again. Sure he could put on sunscreen to get used to the sun for just a little bit, but he wasn't going to risk that attention at all.
In fact, Viviana was indeed one of his little girls, and she still had much to learn about being a vampire if it ever came down to it. Hearing her aspirations of what she wanted to do in the future actually made him encourage her to pursue that path ever since that incident when she had been younger. Remy never forgot it, but he was sure wishing he could. Stroking a lock of Viviana's hair away from her face, he soon turned towards her. The obvious grace she had been blessed with thanks to her vampiric nature, and mainly from Remy's side of the family was certain to get many compliments. Too bad her uncle couldn't be here to see her now, he was sure Amarillo would have been proud, but he wasn't exactly the fondest vampire on anyone's lists.
"What are you doing here, Viviana, you should be back at the castle sleeping, although I know how much you like being nocturnal. Please tell me you aren't going to do this every night just to see me," he said to her, crossing his arms at her like he as angry with her for leaving the school. Obviously she needed to take her studying incredibly seriously, but there was this nudging feeling in his head that told him she was smarter than most without even trying. Remy knew fully well where that came from too, and her obsession with historical literature too. Most of Remy's rooms were filled with collections of books and she had surely made herself accustomed to reading them all.
That was no excuse to sneak out of Hogwarts though, but he gave her a light hug for coming out to see him. "I suppose, I can't complain since I rarely get to see you during the day, still as gorgeous as your mother," he said to her, stroking her cheek lightly.

Truth be told, Viviana was never much for taverns. They tended to bring out the worst possible personality traits in a person, their bodies filled with toxic alcohol that muddle their minds with inappropriate behaviour. It also made their blood thinner to drink and less satisfying, which was why Viv had only drank from someone drunk only once before. The transference had been weak, at best, but she didn’t like the taste- it took away the sweetness. She wasn’t opposed to drinking alcohol herself, but was not so frivolous as to drink enough to get drunk. Vivi enjoyed wine, the rich flavours making her taste buds buzz with hunger for something just as savory.
The ambience was rife with vitality with each patron indulging in his or her vices. Despite her aversion to drinking drunkards blood she was amused by the happens it brought on. Her gaze washed over the crowd taking in everything that they had to offer with her sharp senses. Mirth ran ramped amongst the crowd. Attentions were held primarily on the band that was playing but a few continued to glance in her father’s direction, most of which were women. For her mother’s sake she wasn’t pleased with the obvious attraction that they displayed toward him, each, in their own way, attempting to get his attention with wiles. A flirtatious smile for example. Her instincts told her to bare her teeth at them, but Viviana remained indifferent. As her father he was afforded the respect of his own decisions.
Her head ducked down to keep her icy gaze off of the women that were making subtle advances toward him, an action which didn’t last as she felt a strand of hair being tenderly brushed back. “I wanted to see you.” She answered regardless of the fact that it was obvious why she had ventured out of the castle so late to go to a pub filled with rowdy adults. There was the matter of her nocturnal preference, though she was only half vampire the sun did hurt her skin in a mild manner, but it wasn’t what had made her roam from the safety of the castle. His lifestyle to roam the world telling tales gave her scarce time to spend and when he was around Vivi wasn’t going to let something like rules stop her. “I am terribly sorry father, but I can not make promises that I don’t intend to keep.” She wouldn’t take up all his time or be needy, that had passed when she was a toddler, now too understanding to do as selfish as that, but Viviana would be here, sitting in the background listening to his stories. Just seeing him would be enough to tide her during his long absences.
Her eyes drifted shut letting his affectionate tough be set to memory, never knowing when the next time she would be able to feel it would arise. Viv knew that her father loved her, as well as her sister and mother, and it was only increased by what she felt when he was around. “Thank you.” Taking the seat next to him Viviana looked over his features as though craving the image into her mind. He never aged, so never changed, but that didn’t mean that she still didn’t want a fresh picture of him in her mind. “I received word from her yesterday. She wanted to know what I would like her to pick up for Christmas gifts, if I couldn’t find what I was looking for in Hogsmeade. Will you be home this year?” The holiday was fast approaching and Viviana couldn’t help but gain his reassurances.

Funny, it seemed that he was here with his daughter and neither of them seemed intent on keeping one's attention on them for long as he smiled warmly towards her fangs automatically bared since he couldn't really control them within bars. Most people flinched away when they saw them appear on his face, but he shrugged his shoulders as he shooed the many women that were casting their wily looks his way. Sure, his tales normally had a way of getting him into trouble, but a few did have bite marks from the previous nights always coming back for more when they felt replenished. Never did he lay his lips on them ever, only merely acquainting them with his teeth to their neck to leave them alone on the street for some other person to ravage for their own enjoyment. Many resented him for that, but at least he kept true to his wife.
Juliette was indeed a beautiful and magnificent women that had given him incredibly beautiful offspring that he'll never live down hearing about. Funny it seemed to him that he was still here drinking his drink and as tasteless as it was never really afflicted any of his senses either. Vampires really couldn't get drunk unless they drank a very special kind of blood, anything supernatural would do it honestly. Funny as that sounded, he wasn't going to remain pre-occupied with silly thoughts roaming his mind and Viviana should have known better to ask if he would be around for Christmas or any other holidays for that matter. As long as it was a cloudy day and it was snowing out, the sun really wouldn't bother him if he did put sun screen on.
LOTS of sun screen to keep him from being burned to death, but that seemed to make him smell rather funny with the death and decay on parts of his body despite how vibrant it looked in his current form. Remy merely stroked Viviana's cheek like a father would and parted her hair once more as he soon just nodded towards her in return. "You know fully well you could try to control your urges to visit me more, but they're not to say I don't mind them. As long as you don't get your sister involved in this too, I doubt she'd like to wander away from the castle just to visit me," he said to her. Knowing what was best for them since he was their father and his voice took on a more harsher tone, yet sympathetic still at the same time.
Remy just shook his head slightly and merely downed the drink he had feeling it emptied into his throat, then going down towards his stomach. The dead cells in his skin barely registering he had just processed an alcoholic drink, but he could still taste it since his taste buds sort of worked at this point in time. It was around the elderly years he would start feeling more or less nothing from tasting alcohol and ordered another butterbeer. Something that would be light enough to keep him on his feet, speaking to her again, "You know I'm always going to be around for the holidays," he said to her, smiling politely.

Viviana had never shied away from her father whether his fangs were barred or not. She knew better than to think that such an action meant that he was being aggressive. There were many emotions that could cause a vampire’s fangs to show themselves. In this case it was the frisky atmosphere that always came with a lively pub. All the people throwing back drinks, laughter filling the air, it was easy for one’s fangs to display. Her own weren’t however. This wasn’t the type of place or setting, nor were the people right. Perhaps when she was older it would change but as it stood this simply was not the scene that brought on delight in her, over joy being one of the many emotions that could bring fangs out. It wasn’t that much different from any human reaction. Vampires were so often painted as the villains of a piece, the monsters that roamed the streets at night to steal unsuspecting people of their lives, tales of seduction and power play- but that was too much of a generality for her. Those things did happen but thus the food chain remained in balance.
His stern words were taken with appropriate grace. Remy was never wrong in the eyes of his daughter. If her sister was aware of her nightly escapades she would have been right at her side sneaking out to visit their father. It was hardly the example she, as the eldest, should be setting for her baby sister. Knowing that it wasn’t very proper to be traipsing out in the middle of the night to spend time in a pub filled with inebriated older men many of whom, if her father wasn’t currently there would have been leering at her, she couldn’t bring herself to care past a mild shame. Her family was the most important thing to her and she held it as a greater treasure than all the pearls in the world, which were her weakness and vice. Viv was capable of taking care of herself and always did in Remy’s absence but with him there it was rendered obsolete. No man dared to give her more than a passing glance, her beauty not outweighed by the fear that a father’s gaze could incite in others- let alone what he could do to them if he was undisputedly aware of what dirty things they might have been thinking about his daughter. None of this fazed her other than the slight disgust. She was able to she Remy and that was all that mattered to her.
“I apologize for such unbecoming behaviour. She currently isn’t aware that I seek you out when you’re near- I feel the hypocrite for telling her not to come, but I miss you terribly. We all do. I don’t mean to trouble you with burdening thoughts, think nothing more of it than a daughter’s love for her father. Control of my urges is controversial when it comes to such things.” Her head bowed respectfully hoping that her apology would be accepted. Whether Viviana knew something was more likely to happen than not, she never took anything for granted. It was also the reason she had inquired about his return home for the holidays. Remy was always patient with her and indulged her somewhat compulsive need to make certain things would happen as they always had. She asked him every year and every year he would reply the same, that yes, indeed he would be home for them.
Vivi missed Romania. The sun scarcely shined making the risk lesser for her father. Vampires were hated by most of the wizarding population. According to the ministry they weren’t even to be considered wizards, but beings instead. That sort of persecuting had never sat well with Viviana. Was it not difficult enough for vampires to love themselves but to have such societal pressure on them as well? The idea to help others had always been something Viviana was attracted to. In her youth she would do the Good Samaritan thing to help whoever she saw in need and it had carried on to her life now, though admittedly she was a bit more selective of whom she helped. After what happened to her father in Romania Viv was a little bitter about humans. Not enough to hate them by any means, she was mostly a loving person after all. “I do not doubt you intent.” She replied softly. It was the promise that she found difficult to indulge in. Always, forever, eternity, however you worded it was not something that a person could predict. Even with Seers, they may glimpse into the future but it was always changing. One decision made could be altered by that of another, things could intervene. Her mind was insatiable when it came theories. That of fate was constantly debated.

Remy wasn't sure what he was going to tell his wife when he got home later today, but his speed obviously let him be two places at once. Even right now he was tempted to take Viviana to the castle to give her a more or less fair punishment for even considering coming to see him. Sighing lightly he soon just licked his lips again past his fangs knowing fully well people weren't at all afraid of him anymore. Even with the wily looks he got from many of the onlookers, but more of them were afraid of him than anything. Even if they had a past history with vampires, Remy could care less and had survived much longer than his brother had at least. It was nearly thirty years ago when that incident happened and Remy had almost lost his sanity cause his brother had been gone.
Shrugging his shoulders as he stretched out his back after standing up as he looked around at all the many patrons starting to clear out since it was getting late, but Remy had more important things to discuss with his daughter since she was here now. Obviously she couldn't stay in the castle for more than a few hours without feeling his presence at all and almost wanted to scold her even more so. Remy had no right to chase her off if she wanted to remain by him while she rarely got to see him in the long run. Another option came to mind too, which was just hauling her off back to the castle with his own hands, and he'd do it if she didn't get back before dawn anyways. After all Remy's sleeping quarters were at their home, and she did barely get to see him while she stayed at Hogwarts.
Mostly it was during summer holidays he tried coming home as much as he could with all of his money he had collected over the years too keeping them with a rather well-paid house. The mortgage itself wasn't much and after a bout ten years, had been paid off in full. Remy was now just looking back at Viviana again, and soon spoke to her as she said these things about her younger sister. "Well, just try not to get your sister involved in this, and I know that you don't get to see me enough, but I promise I'll be home this coming summer too...and any other small holidays you come home for," he said to her, and wanted to stay involved in most of their lives.
Heck, Remy was the main reason they could come to Hogsmeade since he was obviously their parent and had some leeway in letting the two of them actually be able to visit it even late at night. If anyone dared touch Viviana on her way out, Remy wouldn't have had trouble taking them out, even if it was a werewolf. Then again, Remy really didn't prejudice against werewolves at all and was friends with a few of them. Some of them were decent, but the fact that Fenrir was still out there meant they had every right to still be afraid.

It stung to see disappointment, even in a mild sense, looming behind her father’s eyes. Viviana needed to be stronger for him- the best her that was possible and then more so as she whole-heartedly believed that was what Remy was deserving of in his daughters. She was more than willing to take on the burden for her sister as well. Viv had always made sure that, despite how hard she worked for praise, that she didn’t completely over shadow the young girl, always pointing out what her sister had done that was worthy of affections so that they could be showered over her just as much as they were Viviana. It wasn’t that this was necessary, Remy didn’t have favourites, but she had always been the type of sister to give help regardless of whether it was required or desired.
As people began to file out of the pub her mind drifted to the negative scrutiny that so many of them had, or did have when it came to vampires. A fair few men stumbled out, tripping over their own feet as they walked, alcohol levels too high for proper function- and the women that seemed so interesting in her father had small pouts lining their lips that he hadn’t showed them even a glimmer of interest that night. It was her fault having occupied his mind to other things and Viviana’s gaze seared into them as they left not taking kindly to the resenting stares that she was receiving. Hearing Remy’s body shift her attention reverted back to him offering an apologetic smile.
“Yes, of course. I promise not to allow her to engage in unfitting behaviour such as this or any other kind for that matter.” His understanding swelled her heart with joy. It was devastating for her to disappoint him in any way it was the same for her mother as well. Both her parents were so very precious to her. She would look out for her sister even if Remy hadn’t required it of her. It was her final year at Hogwarts though and the thought of leaving her sister behind troubled Viviana. She didn’t like the thought of not being around to make sure that she was taken good care of. Perhaps she could ask Aaliyah to watch over her, but it was only a temporary fix. By then though her sister would be in her final year- would see still need to be over seen in that case?
And what of her future after Hogwarts? Viv knew what she wanted to do but was unsure of the best way to go about it. Would it be best to station herself in one location and wait for those in need to come to her, or would it be better to travel and seek out the lost souls that roamed without the knowledge of how to deal with who they were? Was it possible that she could remain at Hogwarts and act as a counselor there? There were a few students that could use a little guidance in their lives, especially those of greater difference than the average wizard. It was certainly something to look into. “Would you be willing to walk me back to the castle?” Her path through the Forbidden Forest wasn’t the safest route, but she could handle herself and did on all occasions that she ventured through the wood.

Remy was concerned that she was starting to pick up his own habits about wandering through the night and just going wherever she pleased, which just happened to be here. That vampire blood was a curse, and he wished his brother hadn't turned him, however, he wouldn't have had these children at all then. There wouldn't even be a case of the d'eaths having even lived this long at all, but it only made sense in a way. Remy hid in the shadows and never did much to draw attention to himself now that he knew how to control his blood lust since the last little incident they had been in. Viviana knew that Remy kept trying to forget it, but the memory always replays in his head every time he sees some young child walking by.
The sad face of the little boy or girl that he drained completely dry, and now had to make his name elsewhere. Even if news reached to the ministry, he would have handed himself in and gotten it over with instead of having to deal with the unusual stares. Funny as it sounded, Remy didn't really consider himself a dark creature, in fact he wanted to be seen as a light one that just couldn't live underneath the sunlight. Hell, he was even a vampire with a patronus, that was the funny part, but he didn't recall vampires ever having a patronus at all int he first place. It was a lame one, at least he considered it to be, what kind of patronus is an ant-eater anyways?
Ah well, he could live with that, but now he was focused on Viviana again considering if he should really walk with her back to the castle. It would be more like a run, but he knew how fast vampires were in general. Full vampires had greater qualities, but at least half-vampires could walk in the sun light for the rest of their lives even if they did age normally. Standing up he made sure his lute was still on his back and ran his fingers lightly along it's casing slowly to mesmerize the touch of it underneath his finger tips. Even as he looked back towards Viviana, and he was immortal, she was not. So he had to count the precious moments in time he had with her with rather careful consideration what he was going to walk her back and that was it.
"Alright then Viviana, I will walk you back to the castle, but promise to not let your urges take over to visit me again, I don't want you exposing yourself to this kind of crowd even though I know you can handle yourself," he said to her, gesturing towards the patrons that were leaving whispering lowly enough so that only she could hear. Even so, she had intense hearing, so it wasn't even needed to whisper that loud anyways, cause he could have barely said any words for her to hear him.

Soon the only ones left in the pub were the workers, the band, her father and herself. Viviana liked one on one time with Remy, even if they didn’t talk about anything it was comforting just to be in his presence and was enough for her to get her fill. The bartender was polishing newly washed glasses with a rag while the band talked amongst themselves breaking down equipment and downing their drinks as last call had been declared earlier. The Three Broomsticks was closing down for the night, or rather early morning. Dawn was soon to approach and she knew that Remy had precious little time to stick around if he expected to make it home before sunrise. It was true that he was vastly more quick than most but it was quite the distance to cover still. If it was too close a call for comfort there was the option of using the floo network, but she knew that her father liked to feel the rush of exerting his muscles at such high speeds when he ran. She couldn’t fault Remy for it that was quite the exhilarating feeling.
She stood slowly mildly upset with the promise that her father was asking her to make. Vivi had never doubted him even a little bit and wasn’t about to start now. If he didn’t want her there at that time of night then she had to do the dutiful thing and obey, but Viviana didn’t have to like it. “As you wish.” There was a bit of an edge in her tone that Viv was helpless to controlling. For all the wisdom that Vivi had, and however old a soul she may have been she was still in fact a teenage girl and that meant that even she was susceptible to emotions taking their toll on her. She was logical but she wasn’t impartial.
It made her wonder if Remy was aware of what teenagers got up to these days. He hadn’t been a teenager for much longer than most parents and things were far different in his day than they were now. Viviana was more likely to find boy trouble within the walls of Hogwarts than she was out here amongst the older wizards. When you put alcohol into the equation it was always a risky situation, but it was worse when it was teenage boys than grown men, in most cases. Some of the raunchiest things happened in those abandoned classrooms or during student organized parties. For Viviana, the interested looks that she had received in passing were mild in comparison to what a teenage boy was willing to do- they rarely had any self control.
“Shall we then?” The politeness was forced back into her tone letting her girlish emotions even back out as quickly as was possible. She was usually good at keeping her feelings to herself when it came to her father’s decisions and everything that he said or did was always in her best interest. Viviana didn’t doubt that to be the case even now, but she wanted to see him and he had just made her promise not to- Vivi wasn’t in the best of moods. Giving a respectful nod of parting to the owner of the establishment, in thanks of allowing her there when students normally wouldn’t have been permitted Viv went out the door ahead of her father letting the chill of the night graze over her pale cheeks.

Remy didn't know what she was thinking, but every girl had their own dream to live. Remy really didn't want Viviana to live like him where all he had to was basically just run freely among the woods each night. There was the dangers of werewolves running amok each night too even though they knew how to control their forms when it wasn't during a full moon. Even just a partial moon was enough to make those werewolves change into something hideous that Remy had disliked, however, he did have a few friends that were of that race. Not exactly wanting to befriend any of the darker ones, but he kept his options open in case the winning side was indeed going to pay him off well. Remy only chose the side that would best protect his family and if he couldn't chose one then he'd just rather kill both.
An opposing force all on his own, but he wouldn't have his own little group. It would be an independent one where he wouldn't have to focus on anything besides protecting his family and keeping them in hiding. Dark news was spreading out from Hogwarts, but he doubted anyone here would even believe it. Remy had told many tales about previous dark wizards and even of the current trio living in a town called Trivolton. Remy had only been there once, and had liked the atmosphere only because they treated him like royalty. Leaving his family outside of the village had been a wise decision since their mother had been half-blood. Remy as the pure blood of the family until his curse had been cast upon him by his brother.
The very person who he looked up to until he had died thirty years prior..oh no, it had been fifty years now, and that seemed to put a dent into his memory. Was it really not that long ago he had gotten with Juliette and had kids? No, fifty years in that amount of time had flew by , and now here he was escorting his half-vampire daughter home. Plagued with memories he knew he could never get rid of as he was definitely trying to think of what was best for Viviana, "There are only so many things I can teach you Viviana, perhaps you can teach others about these impulses on how to control them. I've already heard you mention that many of times, but the best thing to do would be to write a book about it perhaps too. Even if talking to them doesn't help, a lot of them still like to read," he added.
It was merely to break the icy chill between them as the wind blew past him and he was using his full speed to head towards the castle that made it seem like only a ten minute walk. Lurking outside the doors of Hogwarts he saw the brief light of the sun slowly rising, well the tinge of the sky turning purple, but he still had at least another hour before dawn completely broke over it. Smirking as he kissed her on the forehead and spoke to her again. "Make sure you take care of your sister, and don't let any of the boys push you around. Use force only if you have to," he said to her, smiling warmly as he patted her on the head gently.

It would have been stupid to neglect the dangers that lurked in the forest. Her mind, as they made their way through the dense trees, ventured back to the leisurely stroll that she had taken on the way to Hogsmeade village. There were werewolves out tonight, though the moon was not yet full. She had heard their howling earlier but now the forest was silent, something that was troubling. Only when something ominous was in the wood did it still as silently as it was now. There was a good chance that such a phenomenon had been caused by their presence. Even if they weren’t there to harm anything nature had its own course to run.
Unlike her father, Viviana did have prejudice against werewolves. It wasn’t necessarily personal, although there were some that had an excellent knack to rub people the wrong way, but more so an instinctual reaction beyond her understanding. It was chemical- encoded into her genes to harbor ill favour toward werewolves. Viv was still young though. She hadn’t yet had the chance to get past that base reaction like Remy had. Honestly Vivi wasn’t sure if she wanted to. There was something to be said about natural selection. They were ancient enemies for a reason and who were they but mere individuals passing in time to force evolution above its prime? It was a personal decision and as such, like with everything else, Viviana had the decency to respect her father’s choices.
Listening to what her father had to say Vivi mused on it. Control came with understanding and to write a book on it wouldn’t just limit her aid to vampires but perhaps might even reach out to the humans who so fool heartedly believed that they were monsters to cower at the sight of. “Like Uncle Amarillo.” Remy’s brother had died before Viviana had gotten a chance to meet him, decades before she was born even. The monologue had been more about Amarillo than it had been about vampires in general it was subjective to the man’s personal opinions. If Viv were to write a book it would be more of a guide than anything else. “Perhaps a manifesto?” She ran the idea by him.
Vivi managed to keep up with Remy without any problem. She could smell dawn nearing the horizon. The morning dew that iced over the ground slowly heating as the sun woke from its slumber. He would soon have to leave her, but Viviana was used to such things. Time was infinite but fleeting- a notion that was always present in her mind. As they came to the edge of the Forbidden Forest, the castle in view, Viv stopped turning to face her father for their goodbyes. A kiss on the forehead she would have to savor for weeks now that she had reluctantly promised him not to seek him out when he was in Hogsmeade any more. “Yes father.” Her obedience was unwavering despite personal feelings. Remy cared for her and that was more than enough.

Remy merely nodded to Viviana as he smiled at his eldest daughter walking off back towards the school, and never understood why his brother had even bothered writing such a boring book. "Yes, except your Uncle Amarillo was a fool to use that book to let him bite people since it seemed to bore them to death. Surely, that's just one of the many reasons he was hunted, but still, I do miss him. Hard not to when you didn't even know him, but he was the one that turned me. I'm not regretting it since having met your mother and having two wonderfully beautiful attractive daughters," he said to her. Smirking in her direction as he glanced at the horizon a few times to make sure he still had the time to talk to her before dawn did arrive. Smells were dead to him since those sensations weren't alive at all anymore, but he could still feel her.
The only difference between them was that Viviana could stand the sunlight to some degree while Remy would disintegrate into ash if any part of that sunlight touched his body. Although he could stay out in it for at least a good minute or two, and finally just let the lingering effects of the sun fade if he found some shade to get out of the sun. Sadly, he turned away from her for a moment as he listened to her talking to him, but tried to make sense of her words without actually being a little prejudice against his own race. "Yes, Viviana, a manifesto perhaps on your own personal life on what you feel like, and your impulses. Mainly what you yourself do to control them...not some boring drivel your Uncle Amarillo thought up. I personally couldn't stand reading the book no matter how much like his life it was since I lived most of it. I can't speak ill of the dead, which seems ironic in the state I am now," he gestured towards himself.
The pale skin glowing off of the night sky that was slowly tinted with the lovely orange of the sun starting to peak over it. That was when Remy had to leave and he kissed Viviana on the forehead before he departed, "Don't forget, if you write me, and keep in contact with the owl we have, I will always respond, no matter where I am so that you know I'm always near," he whispered into her ear before giving her a tight hug. Then he got up and started to wander off into the horizon, speed taking him away faster than before, and in an instant he was resting back in the coffin he had set up for himself within the home that he and Juliette shared. The trip wasn't honestly that far, and he could usually make quite the mileage in less than two minutes.

Viviana would have very much liked to have known her uncle. From reading his monologue there were questions that she would have liked to ask, theories that would have been interesting to bounce off of him- but that would never happen. She did hold a mild resentment toward humans for hunting down her uncle, but Viv couldn’t be too harsh on them. Just as it was in a vampire’s nature to drink blood it was in human’s nature to slaughter the things that they didn’t understand. Vivi had seen this mentality in the history books, every war that was fought, every cause of genocide, if not brought on by greed- humans were a self-loathing, destructive species. Her uncle’s book did have a tiresome effect on the reader, but that was the purpose of it. From all the excitement that had happened in his life, Amarillo had scripted his book in such a way that it subdued the reader’s mind making them easily fed upon.
“I’m glad you are pleased with us.” Viviana did so love to hear that Remy was happy. Having lived as long as he had she imagined that life could become dull. It was why she strived as hard as she did to make sure that she didn’t do anything that displeased him too much. Vivi wanted her father to stick around forever, which was actually possible in his condition. His human senses may dull over the years but that was the price to pay for immortality. Her manifesto, if written, would be about more than her own personal feelings and impulses, she wanted to cover things both from an objective and subjective stand point so that people would see that there were sides to every story.
“Amarillo may have been gaudy, but I’m fond of his book. It’s the only thing I have to give me insight as to what he would say if he were here with us now.” The impression that she got from her uncle’s book was that, if he were there to see Remy making her promise not to sneak off to visit him again, he would have been flippant, perhaps thrown his arm around his brother and told him to let the girl live a little. He probably would have been the kind of guy to encourage Viviana to be wild and playful and that appealed to her on some levels. Not that Vivi was much for acting out, she was too distinguished for anything drastic, but such antics would have amused her, caused her to smile more often.
She relished in his hug not wanting to let go, but forced herself to. “Be safe.” Viv requested relinquishing her embrace. Rather than going immediately into the castle she stood at the edge of the forest staring at the space that Remy had been only moments ago, knowing that he was already so very far away from her. Vivi could feel the pull o his calling fading away the further that Remy got. Sighing softly Viviana steeled her emotions, regaining her composure and slowly made her way back to the castle. Birds chirping sweet melodies back and forth to one another to greet the sun.
