Ivan was certain that he was going to be dressed up as quite the shrewd character, but normally he wore laid back costumes. Oh no, not today, today he was going all out and he wasn't going to be told not to. After all, this was his alone time with the person at the table he was sitting across from. Yet, he had his eyes set on Roxanne Weasley, she was so gorgeous with that hair of hers, but he wondered if he'd be able to recognize her? No, he didn't doubt it, after all he had really only met her once, and she had only met him once. Not like she could remember every detail about his hair as he had it slicked backwards into a nice professional looking hair-style. Not using too much gel as he hated the stuff to begin with, and found it impractical to impress girls with. Even as he finally got the final touches done, he soon had to find a decent pair of dress pants that would look rather nifty. Noticing a strange suit that was given to him from his father, he decided to try it out. Even realizing that it was a tuxedo, oh boy he was going to be really dressed up.
Ivan had to stop at Hogsmeade real quick after realizing he had gotten an invitation and had to be rather secretive about the whole ordeal. It was obvious there were other people buying masks there doing the same thing as him, but his mask was special. It had what looked like little bat wings on the side of the mask itself, and it covered his face, as well as part of his hair as it seemed to cascade backwards over his skull. Yet, it did leave enough room for his hair to pop up so that it could be seen to be rather slick. Tugging on the white button-up shirt first, then the vest, which was tiresome, even though the vest was navy blue. Now, he had to make sure his pants matched, which obviously would since it was a tuxedo and he was going to look rather fancy tonight. Tugging on the dress pants, that were actually black in general as he soon put on a clip-on tie. Making sure it was snug as he looked at himself in the mirror, oh yeah, you handsome devil you. Not that this was going to be a date, he wanted to dress up something fancy. Even making sure to brandish a gold cane with that knob at the tip of it in the shape of a pheonix. Oh yes, something worthy of a Gryffindor.
Not that no one would know it was him, as he finally settled the mask onto his face making his way down towards the ball room. Even going as far as to deciding if he wanted to wear a top hat, but he just stuck with the mask. Not that she'd recognize him, and he'd talk different than usual too. Even if it covered part of his face, Ivan could usually tell who someone was if he looked them in the eyes. Looking down at the table number, he had to figure out which one was which as they all weren't too easy to find to him. Awaiting his company, he soon started to relax in the meantime, not bothering to eat since he had a small snack before he came down. This evening was going to be a hoot and a half.

Tonight was a serious night, at least that was how most girls felt. They were all chatting and swooning over the ideas that they might possible meet a guy they could really end up with. Roxanne ignored such talk refraining from reminding them that this was a get to know each other type of ball not a blind date. Being a female herself she could understand what the others were feeling but whoever sat across from her would have a hard time taking her mind of the guy she currently wanted. Perhaps it was best to wish that her partner was of the same sex, making things less complicated. Either way, whatever the out come, Roxanne was sure going to use this night to look amazing.
Many would be surprised at how stunning Roxanne looked in her dress seeing as she wasn't one to really be that feminine. Roxanne preferred the more casual look, usually wearing jeans and a tank top, nothing too fancy. But this dress of hers was gorgeous beyond believe. She was having a hard time finding herself as she stared at her reflection. It reminded her of something a goddess might wear, very sensual but sophisticated. It did show a bit more skin than Roxanne was use to but the dress was so worth it.
Roxanne slipped her feet into a pair of silver heels, put on her earrings that matched in color as well as a silver bracelet. It was all simple jewelery, she knew not to over do it since her main focus was the dress. Leaning over to her bed she picked up the mask she had picked out and fixed it onto her face. It matched the dress perfectly. Roxanne's hair was out and straight, nothing fancy. With one last glance over the mirror Roxanne made her way down to the Great Hall wear her date awaited.
Entering the Great Hall she received her number which was forty-two and was directed to a chart that told her to sit a table number five. She walked a couple feet away from the chart and looked over the Great Hall. The decorations were breath taking. She figured the staff must have worked extremely hard on it. As Roxanne's eyes scanned over the, now, ball room she searched for her table. Table number five was occupied by another person, meaning she had not been the first to arrive. She hoped that she hadn't kept him waiting for it was quite obvious her partner was a male.
She walked gracefully over to her assigned table, taking a seat and letting the sides of her dress draped down as her legs were exposed. "Have I kept you long?" She asked in a nasally voice that did not belong to her. She found it quite amusing that she looked completely stunning but would have the most annoying voice in the world just for tonight.

This was Ivan's night and his chance to actually find someone decent enough to chat with. Even with all of the mystery going around he was sure that he was going to recognize his partner right off the bat since he was always good at guessing games. Luckily for him, he didn't have to wait along for a very beautiful woman to show up at his table, or maybe that was just what she looked like from far away. Realizing she seemed to look a little younger than usual, but that didn't bother him at all since he could rarely tell someone's age just by looking at them. As much as he loved entertaining guests, this really wasn't his style at all. Having to actually dress up was quite the fun twist to this masquerade ball thing. Ivan had received the invitation and had shown up. It was unbelievable how beautiful this girl looked in her dress across from him. Ivan was a little breath-taken, but he was trying to recognize where he had seen that hair before.
Vague thoughts appeared in his mind that this could be another Gryffindor, or it could be a scary dementor hiding in a woman's body. Chuckling at that thought he just continued to stare at the person across from him. Almost forgetting his manners as he remembered to blink just then, as he was unsure of what else he could say at this point. Then again, that voice, it sounded familiar again, but he wasn't going to let on he was trying to decipher the many hints at who she was. After all, Ivan had better things to think about sometimes, other than the fact he was about speak back to her. "Well, no, not at all, please, take a seat, and as for waiting, I haven't been here too long. Might I add, that your dress looks quite lovely this evening and I do love what you did with your hair," he said outright, and normally Ivan wouldn't be this forward. It was a masquerade ball, and he was relaxing, getting into his role of the suave gentleman.
Stroking a fake mustache as if he was trying to act all cool. Of course soon he pretended to have a really stuffed up nose and started to make snorting noises like he was trying to clear out his throat. Making a sound relatively close to being about to spit on the ground and then stopped. "Sorry about that, I might be coming down with a cold, please don't let your buttocks get cold, sit down," he added, now adding a Scottish accent to his drawl.

The man sitting across from Roxanne looked rather handsome. She couldn't help but admire the smooth look he had going for him tonight, although Roxanne had no idea as to what the guy looked like on a normal day. But that did not diminish the view before her. Roxanne crossed her legs ever so gracefully after scooting her chair a bit closer to the table. There was a note on the table announcing that all one had to do was simply say what they wanted to eat or drink and it would appear. "Ah, the perks of magic." Roxanne said before placing the note back onto the table. "A butter beer please." She continued in that nasally voice. She hoped by using a fake voice that it would throw her partner off for it wouldn't be any fun if she was found out before she could name the person across from her.
Roxanne's butter beer appeared on the table top and she quickly grabbed it up to quench her thirst. After all the preparation she had put in for the dance she found herself overly thirsty and the butter beer definitely hit the spot. "Much better." She said with a smile. Roxanne was happy to know that she had not kept her date waiting this evening, she would of felt entirely rude but if she had rushed she probably wouldn't of looked as good as she did, which her partner seemed to take notice of. "Why thank you." She said sending him a sweet smile. "But how do you know this is the right look for my hair? You have no idea the state I usually wear it in." She shot back at him. Roxanne, always quick to fire a retort or loop hole at someone, didn't hold back just because of the circumstance. She wasn't being impolite or anything she was simply just saying how could he loved what she had done to her hair if he had no idea what it looked like before.
Suddenly the boy began to make many snorting noises which she couldn't help but giggle at. Most girls she knew would be disgusted by such awful table manners but Roxanne didn't mind at all. "Well I do hope you with be alright and get better." She said as she held back her laughter toward the newly instated Scottish accent her partner seemed to have.

Was Ivan really considering asking this girl out? Nah, he was just joking with himself and it was obvious they were playing each other for fools right now. Since neither was willfully wanting to boast out their name on the first attempt at playing their charade he was soon resorting to just actual chirping as if he were a bird. Although a Scottish bird none-the-less as each chirp was enunciated quite clearly indicating he was mocking her accent and he soon felt his stuffed-up nose accent disappear at that. Sighing softly, he was going to have to give up the charade of acting like he was sick since she was, but now he had a different plan of attack.
"Oh my wow, your beauty cured my sickness, now I think I should cure yours with a kiss," he said to her, just joking as he then crossed his arms chuckling as if it was the funniest thing in the world to say. "Just kidding, don't need to get all bashful, like I said, it's not like I'm asking to snog," he said, obviously not losing the accent anytime soon. Sure he was tempted to change it, but even now he just pushed his glass up to his mouth after ordering a nice hot cappuccino that filled his mouth with it's brisk taste of English Toffee.
Oh yes, that was quite the delicacy to Ivan, and he had known about it from visiting the muggle world quite a bit. Having to visit coffee shops just to get the delicacy but here at Hogwarts anything you ever wanted could appear before you if you requested it. Either way he soon just looked at her, curious as to what her response would be to him by this point, either she'd reject his appraisal of her or include the snorting noise. "Name's Ivoin, by the way," he added, obviously giving himself away right away if anyone could pick up on the little hint to his name.

It was quite fun, this game the two were playing. Taking on strange accent and voices both knew the other really didn't have. Well a Scottish accent was rather familiar around school but she had a feeling that this boy was trying to disguise himself much more than by a mask, just as she was doing with her nasally tone. She wanted to burst out laughing due to the insaneness of it all, especially when her date began to chirp. "Well I do believe you can't fool me by chirping. I know you aren't a bird. Even with that winged mask on your face." She said with an amuse tone, dropping the fake voice she had adapted earlier.
Thankfully Roxanne had not been drinking her butter beer when her table mate said his sickness had been cured by her beauty. It was such an absurd comment that she couldn't help but burst into laughter. "You surely do have a way with words." She said after she had regained her composure. "I'm glad my beauty has cured you, who knew the sickness you might of had could of been deadly. I've now just saved your life." Roxanne said playing along with the crazy word play. The way this guy talked surely reminded Roxanne of someone she was beginning to know but she didn't just wasn't to assume things.
The boy said his name was Ivoin, which she happened to smirk at. Obviously this was none other than Ivan Kirke, the boy she currently had a crush on. Things had just gotten a bit more interesting and Roxanne felt it was time for a bit of an attitude change. "Ivoin, I'm Goddess." She said. "Did you know I've been watching you for some time now? I rather fancy you." Roxanne said, leaning forward on the table.

Ivan was obviously enthralled to find out more, but once her tone switched to a normal voice, he was starting to piece it together. Deciding to play along now after he had finally revealed a portion of his name, but he wasn't about to say anything that would give him away anymore. Surely, this person had figured him out and he had been watching her eyes changing each time she focused on select words. Suddenly, he soon saw a fleeting feeling of recognition pass through her eyes but he was almost getting lost in them. Surely, this girl was impervious to flirting, but he didn't want her to know that. A dare, yes that would be a great dare to see if she would do something that would put her life on the line.
Once more he had to speak to her, in his normal voice now since he had given up the act and the charade had finally ended. Even as the evening went on, he wondered if he should actually eat before his date. Okay, this wasn't a date, Ivan, this was just a normal get together, however, he had a feeling things were definitely about to become more interesting. Having a rather lucky hunch that he thought it was Roxanne Weasley, but for all he knew he could be wrong. Normally she wasn't one to wear such an outfit but if he examined her kissable lips long enough he'd be able to.
Staring was a horrible habit to acquire and Ivan soon realized he started blinking too rapidly now making it rather obvious. "Did you know I've been watching you for some time now? I rather fancy you." "Oh, so you're the Goddess? Here I thought it was rare to find such beauty among mortals, but I guess I was wrong, what have I done to become so worthy of such a goddess as yourself? Of course, if I may add, I doubt this goddess would be ready to reveal her true form to me right away I suppose?" he asked curiously.
It wasn't really a dare just yet, but he did have a plan, one that would make her fall into his web, and then snatch her up when she least expected it.

Sipping her butter beer Roxanne sat across from Ivoin watching him, waiting to see what his reaction would be to the words she had said. Roxanne had introduced herself as a goddess just to fool with the guy she knew to be Ivan. It amused her so and she was ready to put on a full persona to see how Ivan might act. They both seemed to have dropped the fake accents and started to be more of themselves without revealing their true names. Roxanne wondered if it was obvious to Ivan who shes was since his identity had come so easily to her.
A goddess was not suppose to blush but the way Ivan remarked about her beauty it was hard not to let the redness creep up to her cheeks. "It is such comments as that that have made me take a liking to you." she said revealing a bit of truth in her words. Hopefully this was truly Ivan Kirke she was sitting across from for she really wouldn't want to reveal true feelings to a complete stranger who would have no idea what she was speaking of. "Ah, I could not do that for it would be cheating. You will just have to keep guessing until midnight to know who I am." Roxanne said with a mischievous smirk.

Ivan was finally considering what he was doing just fooling around with her, but the way she was talking was indeed making him rather curious to who she really was. "Does my goddess normally blush to comments like that? Surely you're impervious to such comments after hearing them from all sorts of men," he teased her. Clearly playing along, but he wasn't daft in the least. Really considering who he thought it was, after all she had been waiting for him to make a move for a while, and even Ivan could be a gentleman when he wanted to be. Not really having bothered to bring his wand as the food would lay itself out on the table in front of them.
Gauging her reaction to his comments, he soon decided to make an initiative move that would change his world forever. Listening to the others around them just conversing about random subjects, he soon started to conjure the food in front of him. Well it wasn't really him conjuring it, more like it just appeared there when his stomach suddenly growled for no apparent reason. Okay, there was a reason, but he didn't consider himself hungry right now. There was a different hunger and it was sitting across from him with those beautiful lips of hers moving slowly. Wishing he paid more attention to those lips, but the way they moved, how kissable they were. It reminded him of Roxanne Weasley a lot, especially how sarcastic she was at some points.
Most boys wouldn't have caught on to little clues, "Going on a hunch, I hope my goddess isn't a Weasley I have had the pleasure of meeting by an unusual chance of fate. Or...maybe I do hope, with all of my heart that it is and I'm not pouring it out to a stranger that I am putting blind faith in that I actually care a lot about," he said to her. Well done, Ivan, just laid your heart out to be stomped on, what kind of fool are you? Oh yeah, tenfold.

Roxane let out a small giggle not caring that her facade was falling away, a goddess wouldn't laugh like a silly school girl in the presence of anyone. But Ivan always seemed to have this type of effect on her. Roxanne was quite aware that she truly had a crush on the seventh year gryffindor. At this point in time Roxanne was quite sure that Ivan was her date and it only made her stomach flip. She felt a bit nervous. The anticipation of what would actually happen between them. Roxanne was just thankful that her brother Fred hadn't scared him off but it would surely happen in the future, however long the two were in each others lives.
Roxanne smiled at Ivan's masked face, hoping against hope that she wasn't wrong in thinking it was him. "Well none of the other men are as special as you are." She said rather bluntly, feeling her cheeks burn that much more for revealing so much of her true feelings toward him. It would be utter embarrassment if the person she assumed to be Ivan was someone completely different. "So which is it? Would you rather me be a Weasley or not a Weasley?" She asked Ivan. A smile was on her face due to the words he said. It seemed the her table mate had a crush on a Weasley girl. Although there were many of them running around in the school she hoped that Ivan was thinking of her and had figured out who she was.

Ivan really had to consider who he was dealing with and it was obvious that he was certain she was Roxanne after that comment. Any stubborn-minded no-brained fool could have figured that out, and he could pick up on the hints of sarcasm she sometimes seldom used just to mock him. Playful as that sounded, there were other things roaming around inside his mind to do with Roxanne weasley of course, but he wasn't going to tell her that he was about to just hit on her like crazy. Surely he had already done that in the long run, but he couldn't help laughing at what she said as if it was silly she'd even confess her feelings for him. Considering this was an obvious ploy he soon stood up, walking towards her.
Then pulling her up with his hand on her own, he soon pressed his lips to her own, not really caring if she wasn't Roxanne or not. Testing his theory that it was, but he was in for a surprise if it wasn't and much explaining to do. Ivan was a damned fool at times, but her lips were just too irresistible to keep away from his own. God had made her entirely hard to keep his hands off of, but he found himself holding it as he felt his feelings starting to take control. Smirking as he had moved his mask up out of the way to reveal his face towards her. Since the gig was up now, and he was sure she had figured it out by now.
"Sure, I love Roxanne Weasley, the one I'm standing in front of, since when did you think I wouldn't figure out it was you?" he asked her curiously, smirking playfully, almost knowing it had been her the whole time since she had pretended to have a stuffy nose.

Roxanne was anticipating Ivan's answer, quite sure that it was him who had been assigned to be her partner for this evening. She figured his answer would give way to his true feelings about a certain Weasley girl and she hoped Ivan wouldn't let her down. Roxanne didn't want her night to be ruined due to guessing games, whether that meant assuming her date was someone he wasn't or thinking that he had feelings for her that he didn't. She held a breath for a moment, the suspense was killing her.
Suddenly Ivan got up from his seat and walked over to her. Perhaps he just wanted to ask her to dance and ignore the silly game she was playing. Ivan grabbed her hand, a gesture usually used to ask someone to dance, but instead of whisking her off to the dance floor, Ivan pulled her straight to his lips. Roxanne almost instantly melted at the action. She pressed her lips into his, kissing him slowly and with meaning. In the back of her mind she prayed this wasn't just some guy playing a joke on her. But then Ivan lifted his mask so she could see his face. Her mask did not cover the brilliant smile she produced at the sight of him. Discarding her own mask she looked up at him and said "Well you do know I love my games so I had hoped you would not figure me out. When did you know it was me? She asked slightly laughing.

Ivan was slightly confused, but he went with it as he felt Roxanne's body pushing against his own letting her feel his reaction to that kiss she had given him. It wasn't hard to stir Ivan's body into a primal heat, but he kept his cool like he knew how to right then and there. One hand soon trailed along her back softly as he looked into her eyes grabbing her hands with his own as he kept his mask on the side of his head like some would do if they revealed their mask too soon. Even so, Ivan had a feeling that Roxanne had been there the whole time with the way she was acting all stuffed up but he wasn't going to tell her the truth.
Oh no, he knew better than to tell the whole truth, and nothing but the truth at times with girls like her. Roxanne Weasley would use that against him, but if he wanted a good relationship with her he'd actually tell her what was going on in his head. "Well you are right, you're definitely my goddess, but I'm your god. Together we shall rule the school and have our subjects bow before our mighty awesomeness," he said towards her chuckling softly as he let his lips remain incredibly close to her. Feeling the lingering effects of her kiss had him realizing how tight his pants really were. Blushing at that feeling, but he stood at attention before her.
In more ways than one and soon just let his hand caress her cheek softly. "How could I not know who you were from the beginning with such soft, luscious lips and delicate olive skin along with your well-treated hair, actually the hair was a dead give-away almost. Luckily for you, you're incredibly gorgeous and one of the few girls that keeps my attention at all times no matter if you're just reading or completely dressed up in a huge cloak.." he said, chuckling at the cloak thought for a minute. Soon his lips were upon hers again as his arms wrapped around her waist gently pressing into her, but he wasn't going to let her leave this deep kiss as his tongue slowly slithered across her full ones for entrance.

It was hard to believe that Roxanne was living every girl's dream right this moment. Ever since the dance had been mentioned every girl that was rushing with hormones spoke of how it would be completely romantic to fall for the person they ended up with, or at least leave with a short-term boyfriend. Roxanne hadn't played into the topic at all, just hoping to have a nice evening without being paired with someone who was completely rude. Leaving the dance with a smile on her face was the only goal she really had. Surprisingly enough the night had more in store for her.
Roxanne was in the arms of the only guy she had been crushing on this year, as their lips pressed together she felt magic. Ivan Kirke had surely made her night. "That sounds like an amazing plan." Roxanne said laughing lightly. Roxanne gazed up at Ivan's face not really believing all this was happening, surely she would jump up out of bed late for class. But that never came. The vision in front of her stayed constant which she couldn't of been more happier about.
A blush that was hard to hide rose to her cheeks as Ivan said such sweet things about her. She could feel herself falling in this moment but she wasn't ready for such an emotion. Thankfully she didn't need to think much more on it for Ivan's lips came crashing into hers once again. His tongue tapped lightly asking for entrance which she granted as she snaked her arms around his neck, She pulled back from his lips and said. "Thank you Ivan for making my night." She then continued to kiss him even more unaware of how long they would be standing there.
