Luce waved her wand above her head, sending her blonde hair into a frenzy. It bounced and moved all around, some strands pulling, some scrunching together. After a few seconds, her hair landed against her shoulders in thick curls. Taking a bobby pin, she pinned the sides back. Checking herself in the mirror, she sighed. It was pointless. She couldn't see her reflection. She turned from the mirror and walked towards her trunk. Opening it, she reached in and grabbed a pair of designer Muggle jeans and a long sleeve shirt. Pulling the shirt over her head and her pants up her body, she then closed the trunk. Shoving her wand into her back pocket, Luce walked from her dormitory, slipping her feet into her clogs on the way out.
Ignoring the looks she got from the other Slytherins, Luce walked through the common room, grabbing an apple from a first year. Biting into it, her teeth sliced easily through the fruity treat. Before she left the Slytherin dorm, the apple was gone and she threw the core into a waste bin by the door. Exiting, she walked down a dingy corridor. She could walk these halls in her sleep she was so used to them. Passing by a few students, she mostly ignored them, and the favor was returned. It was easier to be the outcast now. She had been one for the past six years, and it was easier and easier everyday.
Leaving the castle, Luce found herself walking in the moonlight towards the Whomping Willow. It had been a long day of classes, and she wanted to retreat to the one spot that students still either didn't know about, or were too afraid to go to. The Screaming Shack, who's tunnel was underneath the Whomping Willow. She saw it waving it branches all around, and then a puff of feathers. A bird had just died, having been hit with a large branch. Deciding that she had all night, Luce sat down a few feet out of the reach of the branches. She watched the tree struggle towards her. It knew that someone was near it. Bringing her knees up to her body, she rested her chin on them.
Sighing, Luce bit her lip to bite back tears. All she had ever wanted was to be perfect, to join this new rising Dark Lady. She wanted to show her mother that she could be the Pureblood that she was meant to be. She wanted to show her father that being part Vampire wasn't a bad thing, that she could still be a new Death Eater. But things were hard at Hogwarts. She was ridiculed every single day for being half Vampire. None of the other Syltherins would talk to her because of it. They said her blood was tainted, unpure. She literally had no friends. All she had was her siblings, and even they seemed to keep their distance. Burying her face in her arms and knees, Luce cried silently, her eyes spilling warm salty tears down her face.
She had thought about leaving Hogwarts and returning back to Romania, where she had been feared, where she was revered for being part Vampire. There people loved her, worshiped her even! But Luce knew that she couldn't do that. Instead she would wait her and plot out her revenge against those who hated her, and think of ways to join this new Dark Lady. She would show them. She would show them all. She would be the baddest servant of the Dark Lady. She would be the best, the most devoted. She would rival Bellatrix Lestrange, who's loyalty was known throughout the Wizarding World. And nobody would change her mind.

Dunstable woke up like he always did. Rolling out of bed, taking a bath, ruffling up his hair to look messy (some say he got that from being around his cousin Albus too much) and then putting some clothes on and heading back to his four poster bed to open the trunk. He had recently gotten a new airplane model from his Grandfather and he already had to put together. He planned on test flying it today, always being one to charm is model airplanes, cars, and trains, he need to test them after they were done after all. He was glad to have such a wonderful charms professor that was always willing to help him on his missions to perfect his charms.
With his new Airplane Model in hand, and his book bag over his shoulder Dunstable was ready to leave the Hufflepuff common room and head on out. He walked down the almost empty hallways of Hogwarts being the fact that winter was around the corner and it was a weekend he was sure most were either still sleeping or outside enjoying the last of the nice weather. Which was pretty much what Dunstable had planned on doing. Sure he should probably be looking for Yori so that the two of them could start practicing working as a team for the first task of the tournament, but he wanted to relax for a day and just not think about it. It was a big thing to be named the Hufflepuff Champion, and it didn’t help that at times that Dunstable couldn’t get away from everyone in Hufflepuff cheering at him.
Soon he had reached the Great Hall doors and in all honesty he was glad that he avoided people that day, he was sure he would’ve gotten delayed from even getting outside. Opening the giant doors of the Castle Dunstable headed on out and towards the Whomping Willow. Why the Whomping Willow you ask? Well because people were less likely to go over there and thus a less of a chance to be bugged.
However, it seems that fate had a different plan for him for upon getting closer to the Whomping Willow he realized that someone was already there. Now normally on a day like this Dunstable would’ve just walked away and found a different spot to test his airplane model. But then there was the fact that the girl that was by the Whomping Willow was crying, and it was the same girl that had accidently elbowed him at the ceremony. So of course Dunstable’s friendly side kicked in and he went to go find out what was up with the young Slytherin girl.
Being careful trying not to frighten her or wreck his airplane model, Dunstable kneed down beside her before looking over at her. Why hadn’t these two talked much before? Well even Dunstable didn’t know the answer to that. “Hey Lucy, what’s wrong?” he asked curiously, but at the same time he kept his distance just in case.

Lucy sniffed, trying to not snot all over her sleeves. Her eyes dripped warm salty tears. She was so unsatisfied with life right now. Things really weren't going her way. Above her, she heard the Whomping Willow creaking and groaning as it swung it's heavy branches about. You'd think that she would have heard the approaching Hufflepuff, but she didn't. She was too absorbed with crying and snot controllage that she didn't even notice when he knelt down beside her. And then his voice scared the pooh out of her and she jumped a little, scrambling back a few inches.
Breathing heavily, and now realizing that she wasn't being attacked, Luce narrowed her eyes and frowned. It was that Hufflepuff who'd been watching her the night of the ceremony. She remembered accidentally elbowing him while trying to navigate through the crowds. She scanned him, looking at what he would be doing out here. Usually nobody came this way, which is why she'd picked today to come over. Something strange shaped was in his hands, and it drew her attention. WHAT in the whole wide world was it? It was long, and had fins coming out of its sides. Some sort of new creature? Except it wasn't moving.
Her light green eyes snapped back up to his face. He was cute. Freckles, bed head hair, fair skinned like herself. Since he knew her name, she tried to put a name to his face. But she couldn't recall it right away. It took her a few more seconds of thought. Oh, she knew who this was! It was that Mudblood Dunstable Dursley! A cousin of the Potters! BLEH! She stood up, brushing grass off her pants. Feeling around for her wand, she bent over to pick it up and stick it back into her back pocket. "Does it look like I'm okay Dursley?" she asked sarcastically. Wiping tears from her eyes, she smudged a bit of mascara at the corner of her eye without realizing it. Her blonde curls bounced in the wind.
"And what is the infernal contraption?" she bit out, her words sharp. Now now, don't raise your hackles just yet. Our girl Luce here is just misunderstood. Being raised in Romania really takes a toll on a person, especially since they were feared and respected there, but hated and tormented here. She went from being Miss Priss, to Miss Nobody-Likes-Me-Everybody-Hates-Me-Mid-As-Well-Go-Eat-Worms. Crossing her tiny arms, Luce glared at the Mudblood. Boy oh boy, what a day this was shaping up to be. Even though she was raised to hate Mudbloods and to think that she is the best, she found him cute. She had never been cared for, not by her Pureblood mother or her Pureblood Vampire father. Maybe his caring nature wanted her to like him. But in some sense of reality, it made her want to barf. She felt like a prat just standing there. And what a mess she was.

Dunstable had stood up as well, with his model airplane in hand and his wand in the other. He quickly adjusted his side backpack before looking up at the young half-vampire. He knew of her origin, but only vaguely, he just mainly knew that she was half-vampire from all of the teasing he saw. He was never one to join in on teasing, so what if someone was half-vampire? His best friend was a werewolf after all, but he wasn’t going to tell anyone that, it was a huge secret he had been keeping for six years of his life, and he didn’t plan on breaking it ever.
Her sudden change from sad to getting mad at him as if he really couldn’t tell what was wrong with her. And then she had asked about his model airplane soon after. Perhaps she was trying to change the subject, not wanting to let him know what was wrong.
Dunstable held up the model airplane before him so that she could see it better. He figured perhaps if he got her to take interest he could eventually find out what was wrong with her. Why he had never approached her before this day, well the answer was quite simple really. Most Slytherins disliked him because he was a Muggleborn so he had a tendency to stay away from the Sytherins to avoid any pranks being pulled upon him. Well he didn’t stay away from Albus, Theresa or Scorpius, those three were actually nice to him, mainly due to the fact that Albus and him had been close since they were five. But he remembered Albus saying something about how even though Lucy was a Slytherin, many of the Slytherins made fun of her for being Half-Vampire. He actually felt sad for her when Al had told him that.
“Well this here is a model airplane. It’s a muggle’s way of flying, well a miniature version of it as no one can fit in something this small,” he chuckled lightly as a smile crept across his face. He had hoped to make her laugh at some point, maybe feel better about herself. “However, model airplanes cannot fly like real ones, so I have put some charms on it to make it fly on its own. Would you like to see?” he asked curiously. Would he be able to get the beautiful young vampire to feel better?

Lucy watched him stand up at the same time as her. He was taller than her. By a lot. She couldn't seem to take her eyes off of that thing in his hand thought. And the fact that his wand was by his side made her want to take her own out. Just a reflex really. It made her somewhat nervous, and she shifted her legs, moving them restlessly underneath her. She didn't honestly think that he would attack her. But she started going over defensive spells just in case. Returning her attention to him as he talked, she wondered why in the world he would want to waste his time with that thing.
He called is a 'model airplane'. She was still perplexed by what it was. It was something that Muggles flew in? Huffing, she was about to point out that it was a dumb contraption, considering the fact that it was far too small for those idiots to fit in. But then he was talking again, and it was a joke that he made. She felt the corners of her mouth turn up to a smile, and she tried to shake the feeling. She wasn't much for a smiler. Before she could comment again, he asked if she wanted to try it out. Which startled her. She wasn't used to being shown kindness. It was too... strange of a feeling. He was friendly with her too. What if he was just one of those kids who wanted to torment her for her blood? But wait! He was a Mudblood! He didn't have the right at all. He should understand what she was going through, why she was always so moody.
She stopped her thoughts in their tracks. Was she sympathizing with him? Was she comparing herself side by side with a Mudblood? What was getting into her? Why was she acting like this? Shaking her head, she blinked a few times, trying to understand this. She nodded her head though, slightly interested in how this thing worked. She took out her own wand, ready to see how it worked. "Just how does this... aeroplan work? It seems rather silly, and somewhat clumsy. Poor Mudbloods, can't even fly correctly," she added indifferently, as if it was no big deal to use such derogatory language in front of a muggleborn.

Dunstable held the model airplane up in the air as he raised his wand as well, he hoped that she didn’t expect that he would hurt her; no Dunstable would never do that. Unless of course he was defending his life, but that was a different story, right? Then he heard the word mudblood, though he ignored it. He was used to getting called that, beside he realized she used it in the wrong term. A muggleborn was what blood purists called mudbloods, not muggles in general. Perhaps he could get her to change their mind about them, he’s always be willing to try and change someone’s views, especially the blood purists ones.
“Well I can’t show you how it works the muggle way. Even if I had a real airplane here, it wouldn’t work. There’s too much magic here for muggle electronics to work,” he smirked lightly before waving his wand lightly and pointing it at his model airplane. The propeller had started up and Dunstable was sure that if he let it go, it would take off. But he didn’t just yet. “I’ve charmed this model airplane so that it will fly with the wave of my wand. I use my wand like a joy stick, directing it which way to go,” he explained before he let go of the model airplane and it took off, flying out in front of them.
Softly Dunstable waved is wand in circles above his head and the airplane started to do circles around the two of them. Once he was sure that it would stay on the same path he turned to look at Lucy once more. “Pretty neat, huh?” he asked her lightly, hoping that she would be amazed. It was always a nice thing to amaze people once in a while. It was from charming his model airplanes, trains and cars that his grandfather had finally decided that magic was indeed pretty neat. He couldn’t wait until he was seventeen and really show his grandfather many other things he learned at Hogwarts. He never did like how he couldn’t use magic outside of Hogwarts during the Holidays.

Lucy jumped back, extremely alarmed by the plane taking off. It did circles above them, and she had to stop herself from blowing it up with magic. It was scary really. Imagine that, muggles having the power to fly, without needing magic! She stared up at it in wonder, her mouth hanging open, her hair streaming down her back. Really though, she had never seen something like this before. Something about it made her a bit uneasy. She didn’t know what it was. Maybe it wasn’t even anything about the plane at all. Maybe it was because she was afraid of him. She didn’t want him to end up turning on her and throwing some sort of spell at her, or maybe it was because she knew he was showing her genuine kindness.
Either way, she didn’t like it. She wasn’t sure what a joystick was either. But with the way he waved his wand, she thought she might understand. After a few minutes of it flying above their heads, he asked her what she thought. She wasn’t really sure. It was confusing, that infernal contraption. But at the same time, it intrigued her. She nodded her head slowly, the sunlight catching her hair. She shielded her eyes, a headache starting to form right behind her eyes. At least her skin wasn’t itching yet. She took a step closer to Dunstable, her brows furrowing. ”I just don’t think I understand what that thing is used for anyway. Do they transport things in it? What is its purpose? And without magic, how did they come up with that thing?” she asked, her voice soft and quiet.
She had to admit, it was neat. It even seemed like it could be fun. Too bad they couldn’t ride in it. Scratch that, it would be uncomfortable, and it wouldn’t be fun. She didn’t enjoy small spaces, she didn’t enjoy being cramped up. And that thing looked like it was unstable anyways, and like it would fall to pieces. Luce realized she was being too critical, but what else was she supposed to do. She was kind of raised to be critical. ”Do… Do you think I could try that?” she asked quietly. She normally wouldn’t even be talking to someone like him, but his kindness was infectious. She took a few more steps towards the plane, even though her comfort threshold was about to be crossed.
Even though it was a nice day out, the other students at Hogwarts didn’t seem to be down here. Maybe it’s because by now they had learned that she would hang out down here. And nobody really wanted to be around her. Except for this guy. Did he know what she was? Who she was? Did he care? It seemed like he didn’t, but people could change at the drop of a dime, so she wasn’t sure. Maybe he was just setting her up, and that strange flying beast would explode and hurt her somehow. All she knew was that she didn’t really trust him, and yet she did trust him. She trusted him enough to know that she wanted to try flying that thing, even though she hated flying. And that she would be okay if she stood next to him.

“I just don’t think I understand what that thing is used for anyway. Do they transport things in it? What is its purpose? And without magic, how did they come up with that thing?” Dunstable couldn’t help but smile. Of course Lucy wouldn’t know why muggles were able to make things like an airplane fly. After all, he highly doubted that Lucy was taking Muggle Studies. She didn’t seem like the type to, but that was just fine with Dunstable. “Well you see, they’ve found a way to use electricity. Hmm…” he thought for a moment of the best way to explain what electricity was. And then he remembered about a guy named Benjamin Franklin that he had learned about back when he used to go to a Muggle School. “Electricity is what lightening is. So they are using the same power as lightening, I think that’s the best way to describe that,” he said thoughtfully hoping that it would at least make a little bit of sense to her. He knew that many things that Muggle’s came up with were confusing to witches and wizards, because they were all so used to magic, that things like electricity would be something they would never use.
“Do… Do you think I could try that?” Dunstable brought it so that the model airplane was now hovering beside the two of them. He was actually quite surprised that she wanted to try it. He didn’t think he had ever amazed any of the Slytherins with his model airplanes, he wasn’t going to count Albus because he was family after all. “You really want to try it?” he smiled lightly before guiding the airplane before her. “Well the charm I placed on it, is really easy to use. It’s not Wingardium Leviosa but similar to it. You don’t need to say anything, just tap your wand softly to it and the power to be able to fly the model airplane will be transferred to your wand. Then all you got to do is wave the wand in the direction you want it to fly,” he continued to smile in hopes that his instructions made sense. He was glad he had figured out a way to do that, after all, he didn’t want to have to loan his wand to people if someone else wanted to try it out.
Dunstable took a step back as the Model Airplane continued to hover in front of Lucy. He wanted to give her a bit of space, to make it easier for the young Slytherin to try it out. He watched her carefully though, just in case something screwed up in the process. He didn’t want to frighten Lucy; it seemed that if he did, she would perhaps never speak to him again. And even thought the two of them had different views on things, and the fact that he was a muggleborn while she was a pureblood, he still enjoyed her company very much.

Lucy watched him fly his plane. It was strange. It was very strange to see a muggle contraption. He moved closer to her to let the plane hover in front of her. She wasn't sure why, but when he stepped closer she didn't scuttle away. Maybe she was fine being around other people. She reached out her wand arm and tapped the plane with the tip of it. Instantly she felt the plane waver and she gasped. Waving her arm around, she saw the plane move and take off to her command. Smiling lightly, she watched it go.
She steered the plane up high in the air, and accidentally lowered her wand, and watched it come swirling back to the ground. She quickly lifted her arm in the air, forgetting that however she moved her wand that it would follow her motions. It smoothed off at a slow pace, zooming around them. This was somewhat relaxing. It made her headache ease up a little bit. The pounding behind her eyes slowly receded, making the tension in her back dissolve as well. Her shoulders relaxed.
She still wasn't sure what electricity was, but she understood that it was making it easier for the muggles to live. "I think I get it now. It's magic." She smiled at him. Her magic wasn't as good as his. It was hard to be when her wand didn't mesh entirely with her blood, since she was tainted. But it worked well enough for her to be able to fly this plane. She noticed that he had taken a step back. "Don't worry, I won't crash it or something. At least, I hope not. But if I did, I could use reparo to fix it." Lucy smiled nicely at him. Even the burn of the sun wasn't hurting her right now, not with her newly found good mood.

Dunstable watched as Lucy tapped her wand onto the plane and it then moved as she waved her wand. He actually enjoyed watching Lucy’s expressions as she realized that she needed to move her wand to make it go. He couldn’t help but smile at how much she was enjoying it as he rand a hand through his soft brown hair. He was just glad he could amaze someone other than his grandfather with his ability to charm model planes. “I think I get it now. It's magic.” He nodded, glad that she got the idea of it. “In a way it is magic. Well for Muggles it is. We could never use electricity here at Hogwarts, all the magic in the air would screw it up,” he said lightly remembering the first time he brought an iPod to the school and then had to explain to his parents why it didn’t work anymore. At least he now knew to leave all his electronic things at him. But he really didn’t need them at Hogwarts seeing as he could use magic at school. Once he was allowed to use magic outside of school, well that would be a different story as he wouldn’t really need his electronics anymore.
“Don't worry, I won't crash it or something. At least, I hope not. But if I did, I could use reparo to fix it.” So she had noticed he had stepped back. Not that he thought she would crash it, he just thought it would be easier for her to fly it if he gave her some place to move her wand around. “Well I just wanted to give you some room to wave your wand around, that’s all,” he chuckled lightly as he watched the plane start to head down towards the ground and then pick back up as Lucy realized she had pointed her wand towards the ground. “Makes it easier if you have room to wave your wand. And I can see you’re getting the hang of it already. Isn’t it fun?” he asked lightly as he turned to look at her again. Lucy really was a very pretty girl at least that was what Dunstable thought. He never understood why people put her down because she was a half-vampire. She seemed alright to him. “You know, if you want, you can keep that one. I have many more back up in my trunk and around my four poster bed. There’s other models I have as well. Like trains and cars if you ever want me to show you them,” he said in hopes that she would like the idea of looking at other models.

[/div] tearing love apart,
Lucy nodded, listening to Dunstable. She thought she'd heard something about muggle elect-onics not working here at school, but since none of their inventions mattered to her, it didn't matter if their things worked or not. She continued to fly the plane, thinking. He asked her if she was having fun. Honestly? Yes, she was! She was having a great time. She didn't know that using magic to make this contraption fly around would be as entertaining as it was.
And then he offered to give it to her. She turned and smiled at him. It was an awfully nice gesture. Nobody just gave away something like this. Which made her think that this was a set up. It was just her, she was just that way. She'd been so afraid of all the other students at school for so long, because most of them hated her. Luce wasn't purposely this way, it was built into her by now. She kept a small smile on her face, and was about to politely decline.
But upon hearing that he had many more, she reconsidered the thought. Dunstable seemed nice enough. Maybe he was really just giving it to her just to let her know he was nice? Maybe it was a thoughtful gift. But what if it was a trick? What if it exploded and hurt her? What if it was a way to spy on her? "Umm, well, it's nice of you to offer, but I don't know if I could. Are you sure?" she asked. She shuffled her feet around and landed the plane on the ground right in front of her.
He mentioned having lots of other things that he called models as well. She knew about trains. Hell, they rode one every year. And she'd seen muggle cars while going to the train station. But she'd never been up close to one. They were huge! How did he have one of those things in his room?! "You seriously have a car in your room? That's a huge item, how do you fit it in there!" she asked, amazed. Now now, don't make fun of her. Lucy didn't realize that the cars he talked about were smaller versions, like the plane at her feet. For all she knew, it was a legit car. But she knew the train would be way to big to fit in his room, so clearly he must be keeping it at his home or something.

“Umm, well, it's nice of you to offer, but I don't know if I could. Are you sure? Dunstable couldn’t help but smile at her. It was actually kind of cute the way she had asked if he was sure. Why hadn’t the two of them tried to spend time before together? They would probably have become even closer, plus there was the fact that from the stories he heard from Albus, she needed a friend, but she really wasn’t open about herself. Perhaps Dunstable had managed to catch her on a day she was more opened for people.
“You seriously have a car in your room? That's a huge item, how do you fit it in there!” Dunstable laughed. He didn’t think anyone could fit a full-size car down in the boys dormintory, let alone get one into the school. Well actually one could probably fit one through the Great Hall doors, but not without a professor or some other staff member noticing it. “No, I don’t have a real car in trunk. A model, like the airplane you were just playing with. It isn’t real, kind of like a toy in a way,” he smiled at her before he reached down to pick up the model plane that she had landed on the ground. “See this isn’t the real size of an airplane. One of these is bigger than a car, but it isn’t bigger than a train that’s for sure.” he said lightly before holding the Model plane before her. “Besides if a real plane was this small, there would be no way a person could fit inside here, maybe some small animal like a mouse, but no human being,” he chuckled lightly before lifting the model plane up towards her more.
“And yes I really do want you to have this. That way you can have fun flying it around without having to ask me,” he smiled shyly before he placed the model airplane in her hands. He really hoped that she would decide to take it instead of trying to give it back to him.

[/div] tearing love apart,
She smiled. The boy really was trying to be nice to her. He laughed when she asked so incredulously at her comment on the car. He told her that like the plane, it was model sized. And that in fact muggles would not be able to even fit in them at this size. She nodded her head, knowing now what it meant with models that were toy sized. He pressed the plane into her hands after picking it up. Their skin brushed against each other and she shivered, taking the plane from his hands.
He was clearly okay with her having the plane. She realized then that kindness was an actual emotion, something that people could be capable of. She cradled the plane closer to her chest and nodded her head, smiling. "Thank you, it's very nice of you to give this to me. I appreciate it. Although I don't know the spell to use it, but I would put it in my dorm." She smiled and dipped her head in thanks.
Things were going to great right now. She was being treated as an equal, as someone worth talking to. She wasn't being tortured with garlic powder, or being hurt with spells and words. Lucy enjoyed this. Something swelled up in her chest, and she blinked a few times. What was it? Was it feelings? Her heart working? Was it love? What was it?! Lucy shook her head and pocketed her wand, still holding onto the plane.
"Oh, and I wouldn't mind seeing your other models sometime," she murmured. A small blush came to her cheeks. She wasn't used to being so civil with someone. And from what she knew about this boy, he was a muggle born. Someone that her father told her not to associate with. That she was better than these people. But he seemed just fine. He seemed nice enough. Maybe it was him being nice that lulled her into this state of well being. She noticed how bashful he was all of a sudden, after having given her his plane. It was nice of you to give this to me. I only wish I could share something with you. But all I can offer is sorrow. Whenever people hang around with me, they basically get shunned by other students," she said, hanging her head. The wind blew leaves around them, twirling in a tornado of soft wind.
