( THE FIRST TASK ) info thread The first task will consist of a Triathlon where champions will need to swim, run and then fly, who will make it to the finish line first and score their team the most points? Many things can happen when it comes to this triathlon for the champions could run into creatures while they are swimming or running through the forest. When they are flying the must catch as many of the floating flags as possible of their house’s color. Now you wonder, how in the world do we determine if they get past a creature, or what creature they even run into? As well as how many flags they gather up as they fly on through? Through a dice roll of course! Below you’ll find how the dice roll works for each of the areas. But before we get to that, there are other things that need to be explained.
No this won’t be determined as to who posts the fastest; we all know that there is no way we can all get online at the same time to make it fair. So that is why instead I do dice rolls for this, it’s a bit more random, but still it’s more fair than whoever posts the fastest. Now before I would post a dice roll, each champion needs to post one time (once we get the actual thread of the task up, because the first thread will be of the champions getting told of what they will be doing). So once each champion has posted one time, there will be a dice roll for all four teams, then from what the dice rolls resulted, all eight champions must post again. What you would need to post for each dice roll will be explained in the dice roll rules. Each part of the Triathlon will be explained in different posts right here in this thread.
So as to make it easier on the me when it comes to the dice roll, spectators will need to post in a separate thread, otherwise it’ll be very hard for me to keep track and make sure all of the champions have posted before I do a dice roll. Anyone can start any sort of spectator threads as there can be as many spectator threads as one would want. There will be a thread for the Headmaster, Head of Houses, Minister of Magic, and the senior Undersecretary to the Minister. Also adults are allowed to come and watch the task, so they can post spectator threads as well. There can also be threads that are considered right before the task goes down. If you have any questions feel free to ask!

( THE FIRST PART ) swimming across the lake There are several dice rolls involved in each part of the tasks. But first we’ll start off with the first part, swimming to the other side of the school lake. We all know there are several creatures in the lake, but for our purpose the three that we will be using are the Blimpy, Grindylow, and the Giant Squid. More information about the creatures will be followed. Each team will encounter 3 creatures, they may all be the same or different, it all depends on the dice roll. Remember if you have ay questions, don't be afraid to ask!
FIRST POST:
When we start up the actual task thread, your first post will be of your character getting into the lake. Perhaps using a charm to help them breathe when underwater. They will not have encountered any creatures yet, but will soon. FIRST DICE ROLL: Once all of the champions have posted one time the first dice roll will be used to determine which creature they encounter. A six sided dice will be used for this. The creatures are listed below and which number relates to them. SECOND POST: your second post will be of your character, with its partner (yes this means you’ll need to talk to the owner of the other char to determine what the two of you will do) attempt at getting the creature out of their way so that they can continue swimming. SECOND DICE ROLL: This dice roll will determine whether or not you get past the creature. Each character has a six sided dice roll, so that means for the team anywhere between a 2-12 can be rolled. And then the creature is designated its own dice roll as well. As for how many sides their dice roll has, will depend on what creature the team ran into. You’ll find this under the information for the creatures. FURTHER POSTS AND DICE ROLLS: After the second dice roll, if your team got past the creature you would of course have it where they beat the creature and continue on swimming together. If your team failed to get past the creature, you would post again of them still trying to attempt to get rid of the creature. And this is how every dice roll works as the teams continue on through the lake. Once your team gets past the third creature, you would then post of your team defeating the creature and then leaving the lake to start running through the forest to where the brooms are located. ( THE LAKE CREATURES ) PLIMPYDICE ROLL: you encounter this creature if the dice lands on a 1, 2, or 3. DICE: this creature gets two four sided dice. INFO: The Plimpy is a small round fish with two legs ending in webbed feet. It lives in deep lakes, and feeds on water snails. The Plimpy is not dangerous, but will nibble on the feet and clothing of unsuspecting swimmers. Merpeople consider the Plimpy to be a pest, and they deal with it by tying its legs into a knot and letting it drift away. GRINDYLOWDICE ROLL: you encounter this creature if the dice lands on a 4 or 5. DICE: this creature gets two six sided dice. INFO:A Grindylow is a small, horned water demon that live in the weed beds at the bottom of lakes in Great Britain and Ireland. It has green teeth, pointy horns and long fingers, which are used to strangle their prey. They are violent and aggressive towards wizards and witches and Muggles, although merpeople have been known to domesticate them and keep them as pets. Grindylows inhabit Hogwarts Lake at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and they attacked students competing in the 1994 Triwizard Tournament, forcing the retirement of Fleur Delacour. In Harry Potter's third year at Hogwarts, Remus Lupin tells Harry that the trick to combating them is to break their grip; their abnormally long fingers are strong but very brittle. Grindylows mostly survive on fish, algae, and small sea creatures. They are usually not a threat but have been known to eat humans, for this reason Grindylows are considered 'Dark Creatures'. THE GIANT SQUIDDICE ROLL: you encounter this creature if the dice lands on a 6. DICE: this creature gets two eight sided dice. INFO: You all should know about the Giant Squid! For the purposes in this task, if you come across the giant squid, that means it has taken you into it's tentacles and you have to try and get free from it. In reality, this squid is really harmless, but the professors have managed to get it to help with this task. So, yes the squid won't hurt you, just keep you from getting to where you need to go. But because of it's strong grip, it is hard to get away, thus being the hardest creature to get away from. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

( THE SECOND PART ) running through the forest Once your teams has made it through the lake, they will now run through the forest to get to the brooms. We all know there are several creatures in the forest, but for our purpose the three that we will be using are the Pixie, Red Cap, and Blast-ended Skrewts. More information about the creatures will be followed. Each team will encounter 3 creatures, they may all be the same or different, it all depends on the dice roll. Remember if you have ay questions, don't be afraid to ask!

The creatures are listed below and which number relates to them. DICE: this creature gets two four sided dice. INFO: A Pixie is a small, bright blue mischief-maker, and loves tricks and practical jokes. It is able to fly, and enjoys lifting people up by their ears and depositing them on the tops of trees and buildings, showing incredible strength for creatures of their size. Pixies can only communicate with other pixies; their voices are described as "so shrill it was like listening to a lot of arguing budgies". They bear live young.RED CAPDICE ROLL: you encounter this creature if the dice lands on a 4 or 5. DICE: this creature gets two six sided dice. INFO:The Red Cap is a small dwarf-like creature that lives in holes underground. They are found on the sites of old battlefields, or wherever blood has been spilt. The Red Cap is extremely dangerous to lone Muggles and will attempt to bludgeon them at any opportunity. Wizards can easily repel Red Caps with charms and hexes. They are mostly found in Northern Europe . They are usually three to four feet tall and they have red eyes and long sharp nails. BLAST-ENDED SKREWTSDICE ROLL: you encounter this creature if the dice lands on a 6. DICE: this creature gets two eight sided dice. INFO:The Blast-Ended Skrewt is a hybrid creature bred by Rubeus Hagrid in the autumn of 1994, by crossing Manticores and Fire crabs. Whether Hagrid used magic or somehow got the two to mate is unknown. Newly-hatched Skrewts looked like pale, slimy deformed shell-less lobsters. They had legs sticking out at odd angles. They were about six inches long and smelled strongly of rotten fish. Sparks flew out of their ends every so often which propelled them forward a few inches. The males had stingers and the females had suckers on their body to suck blood. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

( THE THIRD PART ) flying back to the start Once your teams has made it through the forest and got on the brooms provided for the task, they are all the same brooms, the Newest Nimbus model, no one gets to use their own brooms in this. but as you fly to the finish you get to try and capture flags. Each flag is worth 2 points. As for points when crossing, that'll be sown in the last post.
FIRST POST:
Your first post is when you have picked up a broom and then you start to fly. FIRST DICE ROLL: the dice roll is just a six sided die for each champion to show how many flags they'll capture of their house color. SECOND POST: you post the flags you captured according to the dice roll and however your player captures them. SECOND DICE ROLL: same as the other dice roll! haha! FURTHER POSTS AND DICE ROLLS: Once all three dice rolls are completed you would post with your team saying how you captured your last set of flags and then landed down at the beginning of the course where everyone is waiting to cheer for your finish. [/blockquote][/blockquote]
