Added April 4th, 2011 [/i] It's been twenty-four years since Harry Potter defeated Voldemort, restoring the wizarding world to peace. The damage caused to Hogwarts during the infamous battle was fixed up, and both wizards and muggles moved on with their lives. Those who were students during the second wizarding war grew up, fell in love, and got married. Hogwarts returned to the glory it was in before Voldemort took over, and the world returned to normal.
Everything’s at peace now. No Dark Lord has tried to rise to power since Voldemort. Of course there have been a few rogue dark wizards stirring up trouble, but the aurors easily round them up and chuck them in Azkaban, which is once again guarded by Dementors. No one knows how the ministry got them to guard the prison again, but some questions are better left unanswered. All that matters is that the infamous criminals from the second wizarding war won't be escaping any time soon.
Durmstrang hosted and won another Triwizard Tournament in 2000, but it was destined to be the last. The headmasters (or 'headmistress' in the case of Beauxbatons) decided that missing a normal school year for such an event wasn't good for their students, and far too much of a hassle to transport. The pros of the tournaments were finally decided to outweigh the cons, and so ended a great era of sportsmanship among the three schools.
Now, however, Hogwarts has begun its own tradition. Once every three years the four houses are pitted against each other in what is called a 'Hogwarts Tournament', with a student representing each house much like how students used to represent their schools. Four tasks throughout the year determine the winner, who receives everlasting glory. Will you be the champion of your house? The tournament brings excitement stretching from hall to hall throughout Hogwarts, and has occurred eight times since the year 2003. It's sure to be a fantastic event.
Something's off this year, though. Strange things are occurring throughout the school... more students are ending up in the infirmary, with little memory of what happened to them, and coincidentally none of these injured students are pureblood. Is there a student who is trying to claim the title of 'The Dark Lord' now that Voldemort's reign is done? Perhaps a vengeful staff member? No one is certain. The attacks are mysteries. All that people can hope for is that no more sorrow hits the wizarding or muggle worlds as it did during the first and second wizarding war.

Added May 15th, 2011 [/i] The Goblet of Fire Ceremony has come to an end, two champions named for each house within Hogwarts. Some of the chosen students were surprises, others the 'obvious' choices according to rumors circulating through the school, but whether the chosen champions will impress or depress in the coming tasks remains to be seen. Who knows what might be thrown at them during the tasks? Even the strongest can break in the right circumstances.
Other than the champions, the latest whispers circulating the halls of Hogwarts have been focused on Hugo Weasley, who was attacked shortly before the Goblet Ceremony and left with no memories of what had happened. It appears that his memory was wiped clean, and not even a professor's skilled wandwork can bring it back. The Ministry of Magic is investigating, but the suspicions at the moment appear to be a house rivalry attack because of the upcoming Gryffindor vs. Slytherin Quidditch match, nothing too serious.
Little do the Ministry, or the rest of the wizarding world, know that miss Olivia Montague is busy at work with her two right hand followers in the depths of the infamous CHamber of Secrets. They're behind Hugo's attack, targeting him so that they could steal the poor boy's toad and stick it with a chicken egg. It seems that muggleborns and blood traitors should begin watching their backs at Hogwarts.
Who would have expected the safest place in the wizarding world to begin filling with dangers once more? Hugo's attack has already stirred up paranoias, and in the midst of the chaos the Hogwarts Tournament is destined to begin. It seems that this is the beginning of an exciting year at Hogwarts, on more than one level. Let's just hope that there's no more sorrow in the future of these witches and wizards.

Added April 17th, 2012 [/i] With the second task recently completed, the Hogwarts tournament is halfway finished. Hufflepuff is in the lead, followed closely by Ravenclaw, then Slytherin, and finally Gryffindor bringing up the rear. With two tasks left, however, things could easily change. Excitement was slightly dampened in the second task when the Ravenclaw female champion, Claire Gable, injured herself, ending up in St. Mungo's and therefore pulled out of the Tournament. Her replacement, Delilah Pierce, has much to prove in the coming tasks. Will she and Jaycen be able to work together without the practice that the other houses have had over the last few months?
Now it also seems that there is yet another danger spreading throughout Hogwarts, one that makes the minor attacks happening over the last few months seem trivial. Three students have been found throughout the school, petrified- far from simple school bullying. No one is quite certain how this is possible; in Harry Potter's second year the basilisk was defeated. How could it return? There are whispers that, perhaps, Harry didn't truly kill the beast... but he'd had proof that he had, the rumors are just born out of fear. No one has realized that someone could go through the lengths to hatch a new basilisk. Right now everyone is puzzled, but perhaps the culprit has already been caught- Lucy Sanguini was found at all scenes of petrification, and it would be a lie to say that things look good for her.
Who is truly behind the attacks? Only three students in the entire school know the answer, and they're determined to keep their little secret. That may prove to be difficult difficult as Auror's begin to show up on school grounds, but who is to say that the professionals will be any better at discovering the culprits than the staff? How far will the attacks go? Will Hogwarts be opened next year if things aren't settled? Only time will tell at No More Sorrow.
