Jacob was glad that no one would know of him and Maharet, even after he had done this deed with Poppy. It wouldn't last for a whole night, but she hadn't promised him to actually make it last 'all' night. Oh yes, he was going to play on her words just like she did to him, but he wasn't going to mention that to her. Oh no, he was going to just let her think that he wasn't going to do anything underhanded, but this strategy was by far the best one he had yet. Having to get on Poppy's good side might be a little harder than it looked. Wondering how on Earth he was supposed to convince someone so innocent. Letting his thoughts wander was very bad with Maharet since she could have easily seen he was already contemplating his next move.
Even so, his one hand trailed along her thigh, and the other was now normally resting where it would go when he was looking for more than just touching. Suddenly the room went blank and the whole room was filled with strange noises indicating a scene that may have unfolded that had to be blacked out. About an hour later, Jacob was just lying there under the covers with Maharet beside him, but it was different having her lay there with him. This time he planned on making her feel like she didn't want him to leave as he looked over at her form. Even with just his undergarments beside her, he was glad he still had this connection with her, because he didn't know what he'd do without it. Probably drive him crazy with how sensual she had been acting, but each time he was with her, there was always something new to learn. Jacob knew that he shouldn't hold out at all when he was with her because she did criticize him for it.
Sure, she was an expert on these intimacies, but he was also an expert on the darker side of life too. Sadly, none of that had room right now as he stared at the ceiling for a moment contemplating what to say next. Jacob wasn't about to leave the room since they had this room for the whole weekend, and they still hadn't even done anything remotely close to blocking the other out completely. Jacob could have if he really wanted to, and as far as he was concerned they had mastered the art already. "We've been practicing occlumency for a while, and you're right, whenever -you- want it. So...-you- can give me a call if you wish to have me back around next weekend...or we can just go our separate ways," he said as if they were some sort of long lost couple getting back together.
It was Jacob's way to bring a smirk to her lips in the fact he was actually attempting to make a joke with her that almost sounded rather sophisticated considering Jacob didn't put much thought into a lot of things when it came to getting his way. Normally it just happened, and now he soon turned his head towards her. What had happened now had only made him stronger and anticipating what he was about to do was indeed cruel to his own nature.

There were a couple things about this wager of theirs that Maharet was certain. The first was that she was going to win, for as skilled as Jacob might have been when it came to seduction there wasn’t a person out there more versed. The second was that whatever method Jacob took it would be underhanded. When it came to victims as purely innocent as Poppy Longbottom there wasn’t any other way to go about it- except in the case that Jacob genuinely liked her and had good intentions, which the mere thought of was laughable. Maggie didn’t mind foul play it wasn’t as though she would be above using methods that weren’t exactly kosher. What she had on her side was much more to her advantage than Jacob could hope for with Poppy. Caleb may have been shy and withdrawn, but he was a still a boy and an animalist one at that. There was only so much resisting nature before one caved and Maharet fully intended to play that to her strengths.
Jacob never disappointed when they were intimate together, and this time hadn’t been any exception either. Time seemed to speed up and slow down at the same time when they were together so by the time both were spent and laying back on their respective sides of the bed, Maharet was fully satisfied- blissful even. There wasn’t much need for talking at the moment, the silence was nice, but Maggie could still feel Jacob’s eyes on her. She wasn’t sure if it was really in her best interest to hang around after getting what they both wanted from one another- that just left things open for feelings to rear up again. Maharet had a tendency to be over confident though and with the mentality that she wasn’t going to let it happen, she saw no reason to shy away from spending time with him that was idle. Still, Maggie didn’t meet his gaze and when the connection broke, Jacob looking to the ceiling instead Maharet silently let out the breath that she had pent up.
His words did warrant her attention though. Jacob was submitting to what she wanted, without any protest or gruff irritation it seemed. It would have been stupid to think that he was finally seeing things her way, though Maggie did flirt with the notion. Whenever she wanted, everything on her terms- the sound of that was very nice. Figuring out exactly where they were with each other, and in relation to each others’ lives was difficult. They could be friends, as long as it wasn’t public knowledge, they could sleep together but only when Maharet called him to her bed- it seemed a bit comical to her making Maggie grin in amusement.
”I’m glad you’re finally realizing how things should be.” Jacob doing everything her way in other words. Leaning over Maggie planted a blistering kiss on his lips. ”You’re not off the hook with me just yet tonight though. We’ve still got work to do.” That obviously ruled out going their separate ways. She wasn’t going to decide anything for next weekend, that all depended on how her progress with Caleb was going, but the thought of occupying another weekend of his, and thus taking him away from Olivia did appeal. Starting to get out of the bed Maggie paused tossing Jacob his boxers- it was all he really needed and decided instead, since it was right there and the easiest thing to slip into- and thus out of- to put on his shirt. There wasn’t much need in getting dressed fully after all.

Jacob was glad that this event had occurred and now needed time to prepare for the burden of putting on an act to get to Poppy Longbottom just to stand her for at least one night. Maharet really didn't specify what time in the morning, and the whole night to him was probably 6 pm to 12 am so that would work for him. Yes, he would need to make it memorable though. As soon as he had to realize what was going on with her mind he knew that she definitely had an advantage when he had chosen Caleb. Poppy would have to be caught off guard and alone more than anything.
Jacob wasn't sure how her friends would react to this either, but he would deal with any consequences that came with it. Even if he had to go under false pretenses to try to persuade him that he had no ill-intentions with Poppy. Maharet was sure going to make this a rather underhanded attempt to keep him away from Olivia even more. Then it dawned on him, he'd rather be in debt than even lay with a mud-blood...that was when he realized if she tried using leverage on him he wouldn't care. Jacob was starting to take a more darker turn from this as he smirked at her for a moment, even if he was going to place a bet. Sure, this might make him an enemy with her, but no one said he had to be there himself. Jacob could perhaps persuade someone else to drink some polyjuice potion to make them look like him.
Hadn't thought of that in the first place, and if the person that had changed into him was believable then at least he'd have a chance. Now who would be gullible enough to do this for him? No, that was -too- underhanded and would keep true to the bet without bending the rules at all. This time he would do it true, but he dared not venture too close to her. Plans ran through his head yet a defensive wall was put up from Maharet trying to get a glimpse at them. All she would see was a vast wall of brick and mere annoying figures on the tops of them looking like archers ready to shoot any who dared approach them.
Then he just glanced over Maharet's form again. Curious to what she would be thinking herself, but he knew that she'd try to use some form of trickery with her own body. Yet she certainly did have assets that he didn't, but he could be incredibly convincing when he needed to be. "Hmmm....considering your request, I -might- comply, I'm not giving any guarantees anymore," he said to her, just so he could leave it open-ended for himself to have a little advantage.

It bothered her that she could see that contemplating look on Jacob’s face and wasn’t about to see what thoughts went along with it. Whenever his mind got to working it usually meant very bad things, amusing and brilliant things- but horrible nonetheless. She should have felt bad that she was intentionally sending Jacob after one so sweet, so innocent, but Maharet just wasn’t the type to care. This wasn’t like her usual necessary sacrifice for the greater good of a future goal- this was all about entertainment and Poppy was her plaything. The obviously made her a bad person, accepting that wasn’t an issue for her anymore. She had tried to be half way decent in Hector’s case but that had blown up in her face. Removing any inkling of tender heartedness from the equation was the only way to go if she expected results and Maggie fully understood that now.
She regretted not setting any rules for this little wager of theirs. It gave Jacob such a wide array of scheming and she hadn’t specified that there was a difference between cheating and underhanded methods. The whole point- at least the one that wasn’t geared toward putting distance between him and Olivia- was to test his seduction skills. Mind games were more than welcome but altering results through magic wasn’t what she had wanted, that was too easy. Anyone could slip a person a love potion and get what they wanted from a person, which, as hypocritical as it might have been, Maharet wouldn’t have any problem using if Caleb proved to be too difficult to make submit. Besides, despite being more than capable of brewing a batch herself, she would be able to see Jaedyn again to procure it.
Even if she didn’t use a love potion on Caleb it was something to keep in mind for a later date. On there first Occlumency lesson Maggie had the notion to start brewing a batch of Polyjuice Potion to keep on hand just in case. The concoction was nearly complete just three more days of simmering and it would be to the point of perfection. She still hadn’t found a use for it but that mattered little. It was always a good idea to have something that demanding immediately at your disposal. A month, when you needed it right away, was an awful long time to wait.
The notion of slipping back into his mind crossed hers. Just a small glimpse to see what Jacob was considering in terms of seducing Poppy. Sneaking in wasn’t really an option, once a person was in your mind, unless that person was in a vegetative state, they were going to know that you were there. But with the distraction that she had brought him Maharet thought that perhaps Jacob wouldn’t be prepared and gave it a shot. Slipping into his mind real quick she was stopped by a wall just as strong and stubborn as he was. To make matters worse he had extra defenses in place, a row of archers sentry on top as far as the eye could see in either direction. Maggie glared up at the one who looked nearly ready to send one of his arrows straight at her. All she wanted to do in that instant was knock each down and hopefully break their bloody neck instead she forced herself out not even bothering to check for weak spots in the wall.
Maharet was a bit irritated that Jacob saw the need, after all that she had already learned about him that no one else had, or probably ever would be, been privy to, block her out. In her mild agitation she was a bit snappy with him. ”Guarantee? Is that what you have been giving me all this time?” She scoffed at the very idea of it. Jacob had been stonewalling her all along, the only person of the two of them that had been willing in the slightest had been her but if that was the way Jacob was going to be then it wasn’t going to happen anymore. Her own mind, just to top him and a bit of a fuck you to Jacob as well, slammed down a steel barrier- he wanted to literally stonewall her then she was going to literally steel her mind. Maybe now wasn’t the time for metaphors that Jacob probably wouldn’t care to notice but it wasn’t for him anyway. ”Consider, might… and then comply already.”

Jacob wasn't even interested in this little farce anymore, but he was glad he had done that to tick her off it was a basic tactic. The wall he had made wasn't medieval it was literally brick, and more powerful than steel he thought. Even so when he entered her mind all he did was sit there looking at the wall tempted to prod it with burning hot lava and then spike it with some catapults. No, assaulting her mind wouldn't be fun, but Maharet should be warned about the deeper part of him that wanted to take these mind games further. The darker part was soon welling up so far that he did touch his hand against the steel wall pushing further than normal. Not even caring about blocking his own mind as he went further to attempt to surpass it to tear her apart.
Jacob knew he had to stop now or he'd forever be enthralled to figure out what was on the other side of the said wall of Maharet's mind. Not that he really cared, and then as soon as he lost entrance. Not only did he leave but he left a parting memory of him as if he had been advancing himself for a while. Obviously Jacob had lots of skill, but she didn't know the half of it. At any given moment he could indeed erase her memory of any event having happened int he past little while. That was his one and only advantage he thought about, but kept it to himself. No one would be privy to his information, but Olivia, that would piss her off even more. Especially if he even let her glimpse that far into his mind, and soon he shut out all access to his mind completely. Thoughts clear, nothing there, and was ready to force her out in case she dared enter again.
"Maybe, I will make that happen, but for now, I'm uncertain, as for today I think we can stop with the lessons," he said to her as if she were nothing to him. In fact, she was more than nothing to him, but he just wanted to play her game the way she wanted to now. Jacob was now ready to strike her and underestimating him at this point would be very dangerous just as he hadn't underestimated her one bit.

She was defiantly smug despite the fact that as he poked and prodded with the fiery hot touch it did send mildly painful impulses through out her body. Maharet was determined not to cave for him anymore if the courtesy was no longer reciprocated. She was jolted and jarred but resilient to the end. The point of their meetings was to inevitably block people out but along the way that intention had been twisted and the notion put into her head that maybe it was more than just that for him. Couldn’t it be that Jacob actually liked spending time with her as well as it being beneficial to them both sexually and educationally? Maharet pushed the thoughts away and with the gesture fought against the pressure that Jacob was applying to counteract his actions.
Maybe Maggie still didn’t know all that their was to know about Jacob but he would have been a damned fool to let her see everything, and the same went for her. There were things that she had kept from Jacob. In the end though he still knew her better and more intimately than any other person in the world and that left her feeling somewhat vulnerable to him. She didn’t like that. Even if Maharet wasn’t going to be getting the answers that she wanted by just taking them from his mind she still had the old fashioned way of intuition, observation, and manipulation- by her calculations that put her in a pretty good spot. Before Jacob left her mind be he did leave her with a teaser of what she was no longer granted access too. It did stir her curiosity and enrage her at the same time.
The tone that he used did have a bit of a sting to it. Maggie looked at him hard before slipping to the edge of the bed, her jeans waiting for her on the floor. Bending over Maharet picked them up and put one leg on at a time before standing up to get into them the rest of the way. Tossing her hair behind her shoulder she focused solely on buttoning them as thought Jacob wasn’t even there any more. He wanted to play that game with her she was more than happy to go along with it. She was never so stupid as to underestimate Jacob; it was a courtesy that they always had extended to one another, even before their more civil relationship. ”Then there is really no reason for me to stay, now is there?” Maggie was practically daring Jacob to dispute her, in fact she wanted him to.

"I never wanted you to stay," he merely said grinning towards her as his sadistic side took a hold, and wand out. There was a deeper purpose to this, but he didn't care. In fact, all he really wanted was to leave this room and forget this ever happened. In fact the thought of deleting the memory would have been so incredibly satisfying to him he would also lose the fact he had occlumency lessons with her. Now that was something she might value over him, but he didn't care at all. At this point if he did use this on himself at least he knew the consequences. Jacob's eyes widened at how much of an effect she had on him as his anger had exploded. Normally he was easy to anger, but he had been almost more well-controlled until now.
Gritting his teeth and just giving her a hard stare he normally did whenever he wasn't about to get his way. Yes, this was the way that things would work now between them, and she'd have to go to some other call-boy for her fun. Thinking about their deal really had no need to effect him if that's all she had to say. Now he wasn't even going to bother, if he was indebted to her so be it, but he wasn't going to let her live long after it. "Also, you didn't say anything about living either," he added moving incredibly close to close the gap between them as he held his wand at her throat. 'Don't worry I know the consequences and you don't know how satisfying it would be to watch you kill someone in return, oh I mean injure. Kill's too strong a word for -your- tastes," he said clearly mocking her.
The old Jacob wasn't acting out, this was an entirely new one that was incredibly unpredictable and then he settled his wand down. After giving her an amused smile, emotions flaring up on his face, but they were all meaningless to him right now. Sure he could be cold, but using emotions while being cold was a new one for him. "Just joking, but I do think our arrangement to see if this bet goes through would be best discussed on school grounds next time...disclosed of course...perhaps somewhere in the forbidden forest if you don't get scared away from all the nasty mud bloods chasing you around?" he commented idly.

He was such a liar, but the fact that Jacob wouldn’t just admit it to her that he wanted her to stay was irritating. Maharet wondered what was more important to him; saving face or having her? It was a tough call really, and one that Maggie wasn’t too keen to gamble with. Whichever it was she could see that rage building up inside of him just waiting to spill over and take a hold. That excited her, but at the same time she knew to be careful. Pushing Jacob too far wasn’t in her best interest. It came down to playing it just right. Maybe- no it was a definite- Maharet was being reckless by still playing games with him when Jacob was in that sort of a mood but that wasn’t going to stop her.
She stared right back at him with the insolent air of superiority, mostly fabricated as Maggie viewed them as equals truly. The quickness in which Jacob moved had her heart skipping a beat but whether it was from fear or something more appealing she didn’t know. She did her best not to show him that she was a little afraid of him, people like Jacob preyed on that sort of thing and with the people that she was used to dealing with, her specialty in fact, Maharet knew better than to give them something to feed off of. Still the look in her eyes betrayed her, if only a little. ”I figured it was common sense, I’ll be sure to remember you need clarification for even the simplest of things next time.” Her sarcasm masked the fear that threatened to shake her voice. She didn’t like his wand so close to her in that menacing manner. It made her nervous. ”Why do the dirty work yourself when you can have others do it for you? Its about power Jacob, make the minions do the deed- you know like Olivia has you do for her.” It was a risky move belittling Jacob to a minion status, but it was how Maggie felt that the girl treated him so still worth saying and filled with conviction, which was exactly what she needed to keep herself standing strong in front of him.
Her breath had been pent up, unbeknownst to her until Jacob lowered his wand. He went from Mr. Hyde to Dr. Jekyll in a spilt second, which worried Maggie. She found herself taking a small step back, covering a moment later under the guise of looking for her own shirt. That smile on his face wasn’t like anything she had ever seen before and she had a feeling that it was completely new to him too. What was she doing to him to make such a drastic and terrifying change in him? Maharet should have been pleased that he was turning into something far more insidious than Olivia would ever be able to create, but for some reason there was an inkling of regret building up inside of her. She stomped that out as quickly as she could- no way was Maggie going to let Jacob ruin a perfectly brilliant accomplishment of hers. ”Funny,” And yet she wasn’t very convincing about the statement. ”Don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine in the forest.” She was used to taming beasts after all. Jacob was just going to be a different kind of beast.

Jacob was listening to her and then he almost tore up in laughter as if he was mocking her. Yes, that was what it was, mock laughter in her face, and he wasn't going to just stop there, no. In fact, he was amused by the fact she thought he'd be so easy to tame in the throes of the passion they had ensued, but in a way she had tamed him. Always wanting to run back to her for more, but that would stop soon, yet with this bet of theirs. Jacob almost wanted to give up being part of anything with her, but he knew the consequences of crossing her. Just like the other threat in the school that was far more scarier than him, but he would manage to keep his socks on for now.
Sighing slowly he then brushed back a piece of his hair, and realized what he had just done. Oh well, she'd live knowing he just had a laughing fit cause of her, but that wasn't his emotions getting in the way anymore. Jacob put on his steely gaze once more and this time acted more seriously realizing his smile was no longer there. Finally just keeping his cool demeanor that wouldn't be shaken anymore by Maharet at all, and he hated showing his emotions too. Now he had resumed the facade while speaking to her, voice empty of anything, making it incredibly hard to read him. Actually he was purposely making it monotone to annoy her, "I'm afraid, to get out of said forest you need to tame the forest itself to become one with it. Only then will you understand the 'roots' of your labor," he said to her.
This was just another sarcastic remark to that, but he was also sliding that in as a joke since she left it wide open to be sarcastic. Yes, Jacob did still have a sense of humor, even when angry beyond anyone's imagination. Maharet actually did frustrate him right now, but he would never let that show again. Soon as his wand was back in his pocket, or wherever he stashed it the sooner he merely kissed Maharet without warning.
"That's for just being you," he said to her looking away crossing his arms waiting for her to get fully dressed. "And if you must you can stay the night here, I'll be the one to leave if you wish since I have an easier time getting through the forest...never know what monsters may want to pray on an 'innocent' girl," he mocked her again.

That bastard; if it wasn’t bad enough that he was a right git from the start he seriously had the gall to be laughing at her. It was clear as day in her edgy expression that she wasn’t pleased with Jacob in the least. Pulling off his shirt finally Maggie tossed it in his general direction doing her best to let his jerkish moment pass without too much of an affect on her, though the damage had already been done. He never had been the nicest of lovers but he had been fairly good at keeping himself on her good side, which was questionable with his latest antic. Jacob was so much colder than he ever had been with her and Maharet was conflicted between liking and respecting the new him and hating the fact that it was used on her. She wanted it both ways, which was irrational and Maggie knew that.
”Well thank you for that valuable enlightenment.” Sarcasm dripped off her tone still a bit stung by his ridicule. She doubted that Jacob actually cared about her well being anymore and that was just fine by her. It was better that way in fact. If they got back to the unemotional side of their relationship and just used one another then there was no way that he could make her feel even the slightest bit of hurt. Maharet still hated that Jacob had gotten to her. It had been so easy to separate herself emotionally from people all her life, with few exceptions of course, which had all been by choice, so what was so damned special about Jacob?
She hated when he sprung things on her the way that he had that kiss. Being unprepared was a bad thing for Maggie and left her open to those treacherous things called emotions that she was so settled on avoiding when it came to Jacob. He did these things on purpose, where before it had just been a suspicion Maharet had no doubt about it now, even if it wasn’t actually true. His kiss could still send those pleasurable chills throughout her body making her crave more. It could have just been written off as sexual desire, but deep down Maggie knew better. With that knowledge came her death inducing glare for his falsely sentimental action.
Irritably finishing getting dressed Maggie looked back to Jacob at his teasing comment. ”I wouldn’t want you to go to the trouble.” There was no hiding the fact that she was being condescending. ”Innocent girl like me, I’m sure I can appeal to their better nature.” Slapping on a sugary sweet smile as she shrugged into her coat Maharet approached Jacob slowly malicious intent sparkling behind that innocent gleam in her eyes. Once she was close enough she went to slap Jacob’s face. Her own little gesture for Jacob just being him.

Jacob really had nothing more to say to her, and this was probably the last time they would get together on speaking terms. Even so, he wasn't going to lie to her when he had totally planned to use her like that, but knowing that having made her feel for him had been wrong too. Jacob had to consider the alternative methods of persuading her to cancel this deal, however, he was pretty sure this just made it worse on his end. Then deciding to just take the slap as it came to hit his face, merely backing up, however, his anger flared up. Obviously thinking it was irrational that she should do such a thing as he let his anger get the best of him finally. It was not very rare, but he usually was almost always angry when someone did that for no reason.
At least, he saw it being for no reason, but to her it was totally something that he didn't understand. Emotions, and as cold as he could be, he soon forgot he even felt for her at all anymore. Just like a common breeze that wavered through and left the room he was walking out the door past her before she could even think about what he had done. Leaving the door wide open on purpose for anyone to peer in to see Maharet with him, but that wasn't his intention. It was merely a warning of what he could reveal to the public about her, although he was certain recent events would make her change her way of thinking soon. Sneaking in the shadows wasn't very wise unless you were prepared for the many consequences that were about to come.
Chuckling idly, he found himself thinking he was rather clever as he finally left the Inn, and headed back to the castle to hang out with his real friends for now. At least until he grew bored and wanted to head back here for a secret rendezvous with a 'friend'. Yes, the quotations were put up there since he would still have to act friendly towards her during this silly bet of hers that she proposed. Jacob actually had a little confidence in his step as he left the building.
