"Really!? . . " phoenix looked up at him, a wide grin on her face and she laughed gently. he chose now to not believe her? oh she was being serious alright.. sure they were young, you could say they had no idea what they were doing, or where they were heading but she could only believe it was somewhere good.. because they'd be together. they loved each other, that was all that ultimately mattered did it not? "of course really." she said gently, still grinning as her fingertips reached up to graze his cheek affectionately.

as he wrapped his arms around her and made to spin her lightly she couldn't help the giggle that escaped her parted lips, lips that altomatically went to seek out cade's own, and found herself meeting a passion they hadn't shared as yet. she matched it, feeling a stirring of the wolf within her but she pushed it back. she was not going to let that part of her ruin this moment... this moment was perfect, and she wrapped her arms around cades neck and pulled herself impossibly closer, finally giving in to him .. she couldn't hide from him anymore, couldn't keep being defensive and pushing him away. she had to let him in.. even if that meant showing him the bad things about her... but right then, she thoght that perhaps he might love her despite that, love all of her as she loved all of him.

"I love you Phe . . . and . . you have no idea how happy you just made me"as he pulled back she reluctantly did so herself, opening her eyes slowly to gaze at him. she grinned softly and shook her head slightly. "i love you too, cade... and if it's anything how i feel right then, then i know exactly how happy you are.." she grinned, not wanting to take her eyes off him, not wishing to let go of him... however having to as he turned away. she bit her lip as he pulled away, dropping her hands and suddenly having a flash of doubt. did this mean he was changing his mind? he was going to walk away now? say it was some elaborate joke? .. phoenix almost sighed at herself.. this was the problem with her.. she had so many insecurities that it'd be a while before she could truly believe that somehow he really did want her.

oh! she understood now as he turned back toward her, a ring in his hand - the ring she'd seen upon his own finger for as long as she could remember. he was giving it to her? it had to mean a lot.. was he sure he wanted to do that? to her of all people... she was unable to help the smile as he took her hand, her gaze flitted to the ring as he made to slide it onto her finger, the band magically shifting to fit her slimmer fingers and her head turned to gaze up at him, seeing him gazing at her face, her eyes full of wonderment and love for the boy who'd just asked her to marry him.

Cade watched the ring magically fit to her finer, he hoped he had slid it onto the right hand. It was hard to tell which hand was wich, and which finger was the right finger to put on. But it looked right, and hopefully it would help put off the hoardes of guys who would certainly want to get to know her when they graduated Hogwarts. He grinned as his thumb ran over the silver band, his eyes moving to her face and he made to take her hand an clasp it in his gently, tugging her at him again and wrapping his hand around her to rest it on the small of her back. He saw the look in her eyes, the loov of love, the tone of wonder, the the hint of fear behind her eyes. Of course she was scared, he'd be scared too, well he was actually scared, but hey, they were all for diffrent reasons.

He pulled her gently against his chest again, not liking it when she was too far away from him, and he stepped forward slightly as he did, his lips going to meet hers with a longing, a passion behind them and he smiled into the kiss before pulling away, his mouth turning into a smile and the hand on her back running up the purple fabric to rest at the nape of her neck, twirling osme of her hair in his fingers gently. He rested his forhead against hers, and ran his fingers along her shoulders, his fingers gently and careful of her skin, not wanting to be rough with her at all, and he smiled, his lips going to press against her nose gently, and he looked down at her. "Stomach settled enough to brave the great hall now?" He said gently, not wanting to push her if she wasnt ready.

she smiled as his thumb rubbed over the band gently and she looked up at him, not able to talk right now, but she was sure her eyes were saying it all ... she could see her emotions mirrored in his own clear gaze..and she felt a relief that though she was scared, so was he. at least she wasn't alone in this, at least he was right there even though he was afraid, at least he knew the magnitude of things...it would be foolish not to be scared at least a little by all this.

she smiled as he pulled her close, her hands going to wrap gently around his neck, stretching up slightly onto the balls of her feet to press her lips to his as he made to kiss her once more. she could feel the longing within the kiss and she wondered why .. he had no need to long, she was already his, completely. she ran her fingers into his thick hair gently, a smile pulling her lips upward as they matched the pace and passion of cade's, the smile remaining as he pulled back and she did also, catching her breath slightly. "Stomach settled enough to brave the great hall now?" she chewed her lower lip then nodded slightly, a little hesitant but figuring that she should be alright to try and eat something and they probably should show their face before someone else found them like this first..

[atrb=width,240] Having not gone to the ball, Hector was pretty sure that he wouldn't find anyone here this morning, seeing as how most of them would be sleeping and trying to stay in bed because they were so tired. So he made the climb to the clock tower, his footsteps echoing on the wooden beams. He shoved his hands into his jeans pockets and hunched his shoulders against the cold of the tower. Marching up the stairs, he heard hushed voices and recognized one of them. Jogging the rest of the way up, Hec was amazed to see his twin sister Pheonix and someone he realized was a Gryffindor. He moved almost protectively towards Phe, only to realize that the Gryffindor was already protectively hugging her, and smiling. They were holding each other lovingly. He scowled and raised an eyebrow, crossed his arms, and tapped his foot on the floor. Just like a protective father who was seeing his daughter with a boy for the first time. "Excuse me, but who are you, and why are you touching my sister?" he said, his voice hard. He was trembling from head to toe, but was trying so very hard not to attack the human. He remembered what happened last time, only this time, if he did fight, then he would easily kill the human. So maybe it was a good idea he was holding back his wolf. Still standing with his arms crossed, Hector examined the two. He thought he recognized the guy, maybe someone he'd seen in class? He wasn't sure where he'd seen him before. Lately Hector's head was all messed up. Left was right, up was down, straight was curly, if ya know what I mean. He unlocked his arms and let them hang down by his sides, a little bit confused, but still angry.

Cade could have thought there was only him and Phe in the room at that moment, hell he could have thought they were th only two in the world, until a hard voice broke the silence of the two of them and his hold tightened on Phe's waist ever so slightly, his hands pulling her against his chest gently, his hand shifting to her waist as a measure to protect what her stomach held now. It was hard to believe how quickly the protective instinct had jumped into Cade, how wiling his was to protect her and his child, how every move he was making suddenly was to protect them in this time that could turn out to be dangerous.

"Hey Hector . . " Cade said, a little puzzled that he didn't know who he was, or if he was just saying that to be the older big brother right now, but him and Cade had gone through school together, they'd known each other through the whole schooling at Hogwarts, hell Cade hadn't even cared when the whole school had found out he was a werewolf. It didn't matter though, not right now. He knew what Hec must have been feeling, he wouldn't have wanted to walk in on someone with their arms wrapped around his little sister, and he had heard about what happened in the ravenclaw common room the other night when Hector and Faolan had fought.

Cade bit his lip, not wanting to make this worse then it probably already was, but he figured he was going to have to tell him sooner or later. But he had no idea how they were going to say it. Because what it was, and what it sounded like were the same. They'd had a one night stand, they hadn't spoken in weeks, and now here they were getting married and having a child together, but the thing was, they had fallen in love with each other in the process. "Because she's my . . fiance Hector . . " He looked at him steadily, not making any move that might set the guy off, but he did shift ever so slightly so that he was in front of Phoenix.

He didn't want anything to happen to her, and since he had just said that, he'd come out and say the rest too. His hand shifted to rest on Phoenix's stomach, his hand curving around her waist as he did and he looked at Hector. "And since you probably want to kill me right now . . I'll tell you the other good news . . your going to be an uncle . . cause she's pregnant too" He said, there was no waver in his eyes, he looked straight at hector, his eyes unmoving, but he did feel the sudden urge to stop in front of phoenix, and his feet moves so that he was, wanting no harm to come to the girl he loved . . and the child within her . .

phoenix knew the moment that hector stepped onto that top step that he was there, even if she couldn't see him. her sense of smell was extremely acute, and particulary partial to her siblings (and cade's). a drifting of his scent wafted toward her and she bit her lip and raised her head to look past cade behind him, her ears detecting his footsteps and finally he came into view. she hadn't seen him in a few days, but she'd been worried about him and meant to seek him out.. she knew he'd been through some rough patches and it hurt her that she hadn't been able to help him.

"Excuse me, but who are you, and why are you touching my sister?" she bit her lip and glanced from cade, back to hector again with a slight shake of her head. oh god please don't start anything..it was the only thing she could wish for right this second. because if hector went for cade, she'd have to protect him and A, she knew he wouldn't like that and B, it could involve hurting the baby ... but if hector did go for cade and she stepped infront of him, she'd be banking on the belief that hec wouldn't hurt her. they'd never fought..phoenix had never ever done something to evoke a fought - she just wasn't like that - and so she'd never experienced fighting a sibling before..or a fight in general for fear she'd hurt someone. she didn't want a fight not now, not ever.. but .. if it came to protecting the boy she loved...

she turned toward her brother, feeling cade's arm around her and placing her own around him, trying to find the right words that would keep this situation calm. "Because she's my . . fiance Hector . . " oh god.. he had to go and blurt it out didn't he. phoenix looked up at cade with a slight frown, shaking her head as if to beg him not to continue and go where she thought he was going to go. telling hector, they needed to do it properly, civilised and when hector's head was on straight..not this early morning, 'hey there brother oh i'm pregnant and getting married by the way' kinda of inpulse... it was bound to cause trouble.

"And since you probably want to kill me right now . . I'll tell you the other good news . . your going to be an uncle . . cause she's pregnant too" aaand he'd gone there hadn't he.. he'd just had to. phoenix bit her lower lip, unable to help herself from placing her hand over his when cade rested it upon her stomach...it thrilled her to know that he was so supportive and protective already ... she saw him move infront of her and she shook her head. "don't.." she said quietly. hector was her brother.. he wouldn't hurt her... and she made to step around cade and infront of him instead, moving her hands behind her to grasp cade's arms gently in the hope that she could stop him from trying to get infront of her... "just uhm .. stay calm hec .. i know it's a shock but .. it wasn't planned and .. cade's a good guy.." she didn't know what the heck to say ... she didn't want hector to get angry or anything..

[atrb=width,240] Hector pushed down his anger and tried to comprehend what was going on here. Cade, that's right, that's who this was. He was surprised that he didn't remember the guy's name, they'd only been in classed together since their first year. He moved to stand in front of Phe, and Hec raised an eyebrow, as if it was a challenge. But then two sentences came out of Cade's mouth, two sentences that would change Hector's life forever. Phe and Cade were engaged? When had this happened?! Part of Hector was so happy for his twin, but part felt unnecessarily betrayed. The next sentence however, freaked him out. SHE WAS PREGNANT?! His head swam and his eyes glazed over for a moment. He wasn't sure what to do. Cade, just someone that he'd known through classes, had gotten his sister pregnant, and proposed to her. All in the past few weeks he assumed, since Phe didn't look pregnant. He wanted to say that he was furious, he wanted to say that he wouldn't forgive Cade. But Phe stood protectively in front of Cade, and Hec's heart softened. He could never hurt his twin. Rushing to her, he swept her up in his arms, kissing her forehead. Setting her down, he bent down and kissed her tummy. Uncle Hec was here! As long as Phe was okay with being pregnant, and with Cade being the father, Hec felt that he didn't have any right to be angry. "Well, I must say, this has caught me by surprise. And clearly I've learned not to attack first ask questions later, because we would have a mess on our hands right now if I hadn't." He hugged Phe, and backed away to narrow his eyes at Cade. It was time to be all big brother hero. He took a few steps towards the seventh year, his face stern. "If you leave her. If you leave her and that baby, and break her heart, I swear, you will pay for it. You will have to answer to me." Now that he was done being scarey, Hector looked back to his twin. "When did you find out Phe? And when did you get engaged? I must admit, I do feel a bit left out. I can't believe you didn't tell me!" He smiled and hugged his twin again. "I'm happy for you, honest. I've learned my lesson."

Cade paniced when he saw Phoenix move to stand in front of him. She went to pull her back, and he was about to try and step infront of her again but he felt her hands touch his arms, the delicate touch of them soft, yet the force of them stopped him from moving to stand in front of her. But he did move, he moved forward, keeping her infront of him, bu his arms wrapped around her protectivly, one arm protecting her stomach, and the other over her chest so if he had to he could pull her out of the way in an instant. Yeah, he wasnt a werewolf, but he was strong, he wasnt weak like some people thought he was, just because he didnt go around beating people up to show how much strength he had, doesnt mean it wasnt there.

Cade tensed slightly when Hector moved forward toward Phe. He didnt think he looked like he was about to rip them to shreds. He didnt look like he was going to do anything. But Cade was still nervous, this was to important to him to not worry, it was his whole future infront of him, in arms distance of, cade hated to say it, of one of nature's most terryfying creations. His hold tightned on phe slightly, until he let go of her when he saw all Hec wanted to do was hug her. He dropped his arms from her, keeping one hand on hers though and watched, the whole thing still un nerving Cade a little, but he put that down to normal protective instincts. he had always had them, but they had never been this strong, not for anything.

Cade made to wrap his arm back around Phe when HEc had put her back on the ground after scooping her up. He made it so she could get out of his hold if she didnt want to be held. He pressed his lips down to touch Phe's head and he looked up at Hec and nodded. He knew Hec was going to read him the riot act from him, he would do the same to any boy he met that was going out with his baby sister. He looked Hector straight in the eye, no waver, and certainly no challenge to look, but it was a certain look. "I promise you . . I wont leave her or the baby . . They'll always be safe with me . . and I'll die before I let anything happen to either one of them" He said, no doubt in his voice that he would. He made to tighten his hold on Phe slightly, looked down at her with gently eyes before looking up at Hec again.

He smiled slightly, thinking he would let Phe answer that one n his own. After all Cade had pretty much sold them down the river earlier by blurting to Hec that she was engaged and pregnant. He smiles slightly, letting her anser the question, his hand moving to her stomach absentmidldy and his chin rested on her shoulder, his hand moving in gentle circles on her stomach, his eyes glanced around the tower slightly, noting the sun was now high in the sky.

phoenix felt cade's arms snake around her, one wrapping around her stomach, the other around her chest and she glanced at him, offering him a small smile as if to say 'it's okay'. she could feel his arms tightening around her, body pressing to her back. she was a little nervous herself, but honestly she knew hec would never hurt her..and if she was protecting cade than he wouldn't go for him either. surely not.

she tensed for one second as hector reached for her, worried for a second that he might pull her aside and go for cade, but sudden;y her was hugging her, and phoenix relaxed, grinning she wrapped her arms lightly around her brother. she was just glad that he was okay with this and she smiled as he kissed her head and then bent to kiss her stomach - which she could help but laugh about lightly. "Well, I must say, this has caught me by surprise. And clearly I've learned not to attack first ask questions later, because we would have a mess on our hands right now if I hadn't." she smiled and nodded, going to pull back lightly.

she smiled as she felt cade's arms around her once more and she turned to kiss his cheek gently. she apprechiated his protection, she really did, she loved him and she was so glad that hector was accepting this. she rolled her eyes as hector gave cade the big brother speach, smiling at cade's response; "I promise you . . I wont leave her or the baby . . They'll always be safe with me . . and I'll die before I let anything happen to either one of them" she looked up at him as he looked down on her, and she couldn't help but press her lips to his gently despite hector being there. she pulled back quickly and heard hectors question.

"When did you find out Phe? And when did you get engaged? I must admit, I do feel a bit left out. I can't believe you didn't tell me!" she laughed and shook her head, hugging her twin again once more and smiling. "uhm about...five minutes ago?" she said gently with a grin, glancing at cade then back to hector."I'm happy for you, honest. I've learned my lesson."she smiled and placed her hand over cade's when she felt it upon her stomach. "thank you hec...and i'm glad." she said gently.

She was family, she was pack! He had every right to be protective. When Cade spoke though, the seriousness of his words really spoke to Hector and he realized that for all the people in the world to have gotten Phe pregnant, it was probably better that it was him. "I suppose that I believe you. But still. Mark my words. One slip up, and you're toast." Smirking he turned his attention back to Phe. So they had just found out? What a surprise! No wonder why he didn't know before now. He hadn't been around Phe lately, otherwise he might have smelled the hormones, but now that he was, he could definitely tell that she was pregnant. At least it was with someone who was going to be there to protect her. Or at least he said he would. Hec didn't really want to dwell on what would and wouldn't happen right now. "Well congratulations on the baby. And on the engagement. When do you think the baby is due? Do you think it's a boy?" Hector certainly hoped it was a boy. At least, the manly part of him did. The other part, the protective and sweet part of him wanted her to have a girl, so that he could spoil her and be the best Uncle Hector ever! He hugged Phe when she hugged him, glad that things were going along a much more civil path now that they had gotten over the announcement of being pregnant. "I'm glad that I found out. Oh boy, you just WAIT till Sierra hears of this, you won't hear the end of it!" Laughing, he could see his youngest sister going crazy that Phe was pregnant, helping her plan out the smallest of details for both the baby shower and the wedding. It was going to be crazy girl mania. Maybe Cade and Hec could tough it out together and talk about guy things.

"And I suppose my word it what you have to go on right now . . . till I can prove it" He said, his arms still tight around Phe, not because he was worried that Hec would do something to them, because it made him feel better to have him in his arms, like it was empty without her there and he hated that feeling it gave him, so he figured it was best to keep her close to his heart. He leaned hs head down and he pressed his lips to her shoulder gently, and he loosened his hold on her slightly, not wanting her to think he was choking her to deat or something. He watched their embrace and he smiled. He just shook his head slightly and he stayed silent on that, he wasnt about to stop her broither from hugging her, it any of Shaie's boyfriends did that to him he'd probably curse them from here to sunday.

He didnt know if Hec was talking to him, or Phe, or to the both of them! So he figured since he hadnt directed the question to any one of them it was open for discussion and he shrugged slightly, still in shock over all of this and he grinned. "Well . . the baby part . . is . . amazing" He said, his hand spreading out on Phe's stomach again, as if to emphasise his point. "The timing . . cooould have been better . . but hey . . it's still great, and i hope . . it's healthy . . thats all" He said with a grin, his eyes moving back to glance down at Phe, his eyes soft as he tried to catch her eyes in his.

He heard Hec speak again and his eyebrow raised slightly, and he was suddenly lost. Since this was a whirlwind affair, and it had happened so quikly Cade didnt really know much about her family, and the only reason he knew Hec and Phe was because they were in the same year as him, so he really had no clue who they were talking about. He leaned his head down so it was leaning against hers and he restsed the side of his head against her neck and he spoke softly. "Uh . . who?" He said, the question aimed at her because he kinda felt like an idiot for having to ask about it infront of them both.

phoenix rolled her eyes as hector continued to glare at her fiancée... fiancée - she'd have to get used to saying that. she couldn't help but feel a glow of warmth right in the centre of her heart whenever she thought about it. "I suppose that I believe you. But still. Mark my words. One slip up, and you're toast." she shook her head at his words and sighed, sadly knowing that he was true.. if cade did take too many steps out of line and hec found out she wouldn't be able to stop him from doing something. yeah she was part wolf and all, but so was hec and he was ultimately stronger than her - particularly because of the fact that phoenix hated fighting, especially the people she loved. "And I suppose my word it what you have to go on right now . . . till I can prove it" she smiled gently, glad that cade wasn't sitting back and letting hec try and intimidate him....and glad that he really was planning on sticking with her.

"Well congratulations on the baby. And on the engagement. When do you think the baby is due? Do you think it's a boy?" she smiled gently, "thanks," she spoke in relation to his congratulations - it really was a shock to her right now, and yeah she was still afraid of the whole pregnancy thing, but .. with cade's commitement to her and the baby, she was even starting to feel some happiness about the whole thing. "uuuhm .. i have no idea," she said lightly with a small grin at hec, glancing at cade and wondering what he was thinking - she hadn't even started to wonder about the whole 'is it a girl or a boy' thing. "Well . . the baby part . . is . . amazing" she smiled and turned her head to look at him. "The timing . . cooould have been better . . but hey . . it's still great, and i hope . . it's healthy . . thats all" she nodded in agreement, thinking that that was exactly the right way to say it - better timing but it was still good... and she didn't mind whether it was girl or boy so long as the baby was okay.

"I'm glad that I found out. Oh boy, you just WAIT till Sierra hears of this, you won't hear the end of it!" phoenix groaned and shook her head, turning to hide her face in cade's neck for a moment. "Uh . . who?" she smiled slightly and shifted her head toward his ear, "my younger sister," he murmered and made to turn her head again to look at hec with a shake of her head, "can't we..wait..before we tell her. she's going to want to make this a big deal...with baby showers and engagement parties and " pheonix finished in a shudder. she didn't want all the big fuss, she just wanted cade, she didn't need parties and presents and she really didn't want them - besides she didn't have all that many friends, and so if she had to have some sort of party, she'd rather it was just family and cade.
