Groaning as she usually did when she was forced to get up, Poppy kicked her blankets off her body and rolled over to stuff her face into her pillow before actually getting up and stretching, yawning all the while. She’d spent the entire night after class down in the kitchens helping the house elves make a thousand or so cupcakes, one for each student at Hogwarts. She’d volunteered to help, of course, helping them by doing the general mixing, with the help of magic of course, and then decorating each one with the house colours. On the bronze and blue ravenclaw cupcakes, ‘Claicen’ had been inscribed with care, just as the black and yellow of the hufflepuffs’ were adorned with ‘Dori’ while the silver and green cupcakes for the slytherins had ‘Theiorpius’ wrote upon them, and just as the rest, the gold and red gryffindors would be eating cupcakes that said ‘Jamaya.’ While the house elves were finishing up with those (who knew they could copy her handwriting exactly with piping? she’d been impressed) Poppy had taken the liberty to bake a cake for the Headmaster and everyone sitting with him, with the school crest in the middle, surrounded by the four house crests, and then four smaller cakes, each for the sets of champions with their crest and team name. She hadn’t been sure that everyone would appreciate the gesture, but really, who didn’t like free sweets?
Almost blindly, Poppy dressed herself, still tired but knowing she needed to get ready and down to the first task to set up her little stand before everyone else decided to head down. She didn’t really need to carry much down as she planned to just transfigure the stand out of some branches or something simple so she was able to return them to the way they were after instead of wasting good wood. A few times on her journey, she stumbled and nearly fell in her sleep induced stupor, or rather lack of sleep which clouded her usually foggy mind. Somehow, she managed to transfigure broken off branches of a large tree into a rather elaborate stand, forgoing breakfast to do so. When that was done, she headed back to the castle to bring the cupcakes down and set them up. At first she planned to levitate them down in their boxes, but managed to shrink them all down to a reasonable size so it wouldn’t look suspicious. It was a surprise after all. As she set up her things, she watched the officials set up for their parts of the challenge. Just what were they going to do?
While she waited for everyone to start coming down and the task to begin, she amused herself by painting her best rendition of the hufflepuff crest on her face, not doing a terrible job, but then taking it off anyway and putting the crest on one cheek and ‘Dori’ on the other. She liked that much better.
Abruptly she realized that people were already coming down to the lake in large numbers, and put her paints away and took the napkins that were covering the sweet pastries off with a flourish, handing out at least ten in the first five minutes after they were off. Her first two hufflepuff ones, however, didn’t go to students at all, but to the parents of Dunstable Dursley, who were kind enough to come and say hi to her while she was busy. With a huge smile on her face, Poppy accepted the shirt given to her by Dun’s mom, and hugged both his parents, glad that they remembered her from the few times they’d met. Or from the stories Dunstable told them, whichever really.
When they were gone, Poppy settled herself with a bag of Bertie Bott’s Every Flavoured Beans to give her some energy, completely heedless of the fact that she had hundreds of cupcakes at her disposal. As she ate slowly, cringing at the bad flavours, she continued passing out the cupcakes with pride, telling everyone that they should thank the house elves and not just her for them, with a large smile on her face, even if she was feeling very tired.

Why did he have to get up early to on a Saturday, it just wasn’t right. The young Albus Potter rolled out of bed groaning as he did so before sitting up and looking over at the other four poster beds. Most of them were empty and he swore for a moment there he saw Scorpius quickly running out. Squinting Albus brought his watch up so he could see the time and then nearly jumped when he realized that if didn’t hurry he would be late. Quickly he went to his trunk and pulled out a pair of black jean a dark green sweater with the Slytherin crest on the back as well as a green and silver stripped hat and scarf. Sure later on it would warm up, but he knew how chilly Novemeber mornings could be at Hogwarts.
He then quick glanced in the mirror, ruffled his jet black hair, there really was no good in trying to fix it as he knew it would take him hours on end, after all he had inherited his father’s hair. And then he headed on out towards the lake where everyone else was headed. Al felt rather lonely with the fact that his two best mates were the Slytherin Champions as well as his cousin Dunstable. Sure he could probably find Rose, but he had no idea where she went and he wasn’t in the mood to find Aubrey at the moment. Sure he did like Scorps Girlfriend; just it was too early to see her being so peppy.
Al rubbed the sleep from his eyes as he walked across the lawn by himself. Was this really how it was going to be for the rest of the year? He felt like Theia and Scorp were more absorbed with each other lately. He knew it was because of the Hogwarts Tournament, but he couldn’t help but feel just a tad jealous. The two of them go to go out and do the tasks while he was stuck there sitting with everyone else, watching. And it didn’t help that even his brother was one of the champions for Gryffindor. Life really did know how to put one into a depression state when it came to those things.
He then noticed that a lot of people happened to be in a line before they went off to the stands that had been sat up just for the task. Wondering what it was all about, Albus decided to take a look. As he got nearer he noticed a smell of something sweet in the air and that people seemed to be eating something. But what it was, it was a bit small to tell and they were all eating it pretty fast.
Finally he got to the front and he happened to recognize the girl that was at the stand. Poppy Longbottom, one of Dunstable’s good friends. “Oh hey Poppy, I see that you made some cupcakes,” he smiled lightly at her before wondering which one he should get. Of course he would get a slytherin one, why did he even had to think about it? But then again his close cousin was on the Hufflepuff team. Then he lightly picked one of the Slytherin ones up and took a bite of it. “Mmmm… these are pretty good,” he smiled lightly before walking around the stand to stand next to her. He didn’t know her that well, but it didn’t hurt to talk to someone new right?

Ginny smiled as she opened her eyes. Today was the day her son would participate in the tournament and oh she was proud of him for getting in. What mother wouldn’t be proud of her own son. But she also knew with tournaments like these came hardships and even deaths on rare occasions. She never forgot the year her beloved husband was in the tournament, he had come back with Cedric's dead body claiming Voldemort was back. She had been one of the first to believe him, having been under Voldemort’s power a couple of years before that. It was a sad time then and she couldn’t help but let worry cross her mind now. She knew James could handle himself on normal days, but today wasn’t normal.
Turning her head she saw the peaceful form of Harry. "Come on dear, we don’t want to be late to watch James," she spoke, before getting out of bed herself and dressed, slipping on a pair of gloves and a scarf over the top for warmth. When she looked presentable, she left Harry and headed out to the start and finish of the first task. Something delicious wafted her way and her stomach growled. Whoops, Ginny thought, realising she had missed breakfast. She had hoped to see James before and wish him good luck as well as Albus's best friends.
Not long after she had smelt the delicious odour, she came across the cupcake stall with Poppy Longbottom, a daughter of a friend of the family and Albus. "Morning," she smiled at them, moving around the stall to give her son a hug and kiss on top of his head. "You've been busy, dear," she looked over at Poppy before looking at the cupcakes. Which one did she take, she thought. The Gryffindor one or the Slytherin one? Well Harry would go for Gryffindor and so she reached out and grabbed a Slytherin cupcake. As much as she was excited that James had been chosen, she also wanted to show Albus that she supported his best friends as well. She would have taken a hufflepuff cupcake, but she didnt want Al to fee left out, of course that didnt mean she didnt wish her nephew well either. Taking a bite of it, it melted in the mouth. "These are by far the best cupcakes I’ve tasted," she insisted. She liked making deserts but she knew that without the aid of a house elf, she'd never be able to make cupcakes as good as these.

Walking out of the common room Hugo ran a hand through his blonde mop of hair and yawned. He was starting to wonder why the competition task started so early in the morning, after all, should they want the champions to get as much sleep as they could? But anyway, it wasn up to him. And he was determined to be there, no matter how early he had to get up or no matter now long he had to sit in the uncomfortable stands. He hadnt been at the ceremony to see his cousin's names pulled out of the goblet, so he was going to make sure he watched him finish the tasks.
Looking at his watch he sighed as he saw that breakfast would be well and truly over by now, even if it was early. He shoved his hands into the pockets of his black sweater and he walked down the stairs to the path that lead down to the lake. He looked around and could see people walking along the same path he did, he could hear the murmer of excited buzz in their voices about watching the tournement, after all, how often did something like this happen around Hogwarts, and it was bringing out some interesting happpenings around the school.
He bit his lip and stayed away from a lot of them, he had no idea where his girlfriend Jez was, and he wasnt really comfortable around people he didnt full trust right now, he was still jumpy after the attack on him, though he hated it, he couldnt help it, he just was, no matter how hard he tried to fight it he couldnt stop himself from jumping at a loud noise, or getting scared if someone came up behind him. He sighed and ran his hand down his hair again, reaching the lake he looked around and spotted three people he knew, and his stomach was eading him toward them anyway, feeling the effects of missing breakfast,
He reached the three people, and a smile crossed his face, well it was a ghost of a smile, his real smile had been hidden for months. He just couldnt find the effort to smile fully now. He reached out and grabbed a green cupcake without thinking, he wasnt one for houses, and since he liked the color green more than yellow or blue, and the red cupcakes remindind him of blood for some reason, he went with the green and bit into the cake and ate the bite before looking at the people. "Hey Poppy . . these are great . . did you make them?" He said, half the cupcake gone already. He shifted his glance to Al and his smile widened just a bit more.
"Hiding out here instead of watching Al?" He said lightly, not meaning anything by it, he was really only teasing. Of course he knew his cousin wouldnt hide, and was probably just stopping here on the way to go and support his friends, Hugo couldnt help but tease him slightly. He relaxed slightly and took another bite of the cake.
For some reason, ever since he and Albus had talked in the library, Hugo was probably most ke his old self when he was around Jez and Albus for some reason, probably because he knew nothing would happen to him around Al, even though it was selfish of him to think that. His smile moved to his aunty and he looked at her. "Hey Aunt Ginny . . looking forward to watching the task?" He said, leaning against the stand and reaching for another cupcake, there was enough to go around, and he really was hungry.

When Poppy’s hand came up to stifle a yawn, she had momentarily forgot about her hands being covered in icing from passing out the cupcakes to those who were antsy about just grabbing them themselves. She pouted and looked down at her sugary-coated fingers, saddened that she couldn’t lick it off as she normally would have. Obviously, if she was going to keep passing out cupcakes for the rest of the day, she couldn’t very well do that with her saliva on her fingers, and she didn’t have a sink and soap anywhere near her to wash off after. Begrudgingly, she pulled out her whimsically painted wand from the pocket of her dress with the fingers that seemed to have the least icing on them, which was quite difficult considering it was her pinky and ring finger on her left hand, and she was right handed. She managed to almost get it out, when it fell on the ground. When she raised from bending over and picking it up, her eyebrows furrowed in concentration so she didn’t drop it again, Albus Potter was standing in front of her on the other side of the stand.
“Yeup!” she said cheerfully, her now dirty and icing covered hands forgotten. “Feel free to have whatever you’d like,” she smiled broadly, fumbling a tad with her wand but managing to get a good grip in it. “There’s plenty for everyone.” Quickly, she cast an aguamenti on her hands and washed the icing off as best as she could when she really had nothing to do it with. She wiped her wet hands on her tall socks and smiled at Albus. “I’m glad you like it!” When he made to come around the side to stand near her, she moved over slightly to allow him some space. “You don’t have to help me Albus, or stay to keep me company. You should go and get a good seat. I’m sure all the good ones will be taken soon.”
“Hi Misses Potter, how are you?” she greeted brightly, watching Mrs Potter greet her son. Briefly she wondered if her own mother would make an appearance, but couldn’t justify it with any valid reason. None of her children were champions, and it wouldn’t be much worth for her to take a few hours out of her busy schedule to come and watch without real reason, just for the simple enjoyment of it. “It has been busy, yes. But I’m enjoying myself,” she responded with a wide smile tugging at her full lips and a tinkling laugh pouring out. “Thank you Mrs Potter,” she blushed lightly, pink dusting her cheeks as she pushed them out slightly and looked down. “I’m glad you like it,” she said, popping a few more beans from the bag in her pocket and cringing as the tastes mixed together. She needed something to do with her hands and hide her slight embarrassment. She wasn’t used to being complimented like that on her cooking or baking. At home, every once in a while someone would complement the food, but she was usually not around to hear it if she was in the kitchen, and if she was waitressing, than she’d had no part in the preparation of the food.
“Hey Hugo!” she waved, smiling lightly as she watched him take a cupcake, oddly enough the slytherin green, and bite into it. She was going to start laughing soon; if another member of the Weasley-Potter clan showed up, they’d have a certified family reunion! And then she’d feel slightly out of place. “I’m glad you enjoy them,” she chuckled. “Of course I made them Hugo, with the help of the house elves, so you better remember to head down to the kitchen to thank them! They do catch on to new recipes rather well...” she trailed off, letting Hugo’s mouth run its course as she wondered if there were any other things that the house elves would like to learn to make.

With eleven Weasley relations at Hogwarts, it had been fairly likely that one of them would be chosen as a champion for their house. As it had turned out, there was exactly one of Fred's relatives competing in the year's tournament, and that relative was representing his own house of Gryffindor. Jealous? Nah, not really. Fred had grown up around James, being in the same age and house, and the guy was more like a brother to the afro'd Gryffindor than just another house mate. Fred hadn't even entered his name into the cup, so there was no reason for jealousy on his part. He'd rather spend the last year of schooling that he had left relaxing, having fun, maybe pranking a few teachers per week or something, and enjoying the little carefreeness he had left in the halls of Hogwarts. He didn't need the stress of competing and having the expectations of an entire house on his shoulders... but hey, if James thought he could handle it, all the more power to the infamous Harry Potter's son.
Like every other student who attended the school this year, and some who had attended in previous years, Fred made his way to where the first task was set to be held along with a throng of other students milling about, chatting excitedly about their expectations of the first task. It was impossible to predict what would happen. He knew that Gryffindor would be a strong pairing with Harry Potter's own son involved, but had to wonder if the pressure of his name might make James crack... Hufflepuff was an unlikely team, one being Harry Potter's nephew of no relation to Fred and the other a practically invisible Hufflepuff girl he hadn't really heard the name of before it was called from the cup, but they could be full of surprises. Slytherin seemed to be the most predictable pairing, the dynamic duo of Scorpius Malfoy and Theresa Kelsey that Fred knew had been pals long before they'd been partnered up for the tournament, so he expected them to do well simply because they were accustomed to working together. And then there was Ravenclaw with the head boy/beater and his female partner who Fred only knew as a Quidditch player herself. With such a prestigious male on that team, and a capable female, they could be tough opponents for Gryffindor, too. Regardless, Fred definitely knew who he was cheering for.
A crowd had seemed to gather around a small stand, which attracted Fred's attention. He'd expected everyone to already be setting up for the day's events... As he drew nearer he saw that three of the people grouped around the stand were relatives of his; his aunt and two cousins, and the person holding the stand was a sort of friend through family, Poppy Longbottom. Since there were people around that he knew, it would be rude to just walk on by, especially when he had nothing better to do, right?
"Hey all!" he greeted everyone as he walked up to the stand to take a look at what was up for the taking. Well, didn't those look delicious... Fred selected, obviously, one for his proud house and bit in, obviously chewing and swallowing before speaking again because he wasn't a pig. "You could make a fortune off of these, Poppy," he advised with a grin.

Unlike most Albus didn’t have a problem with his mother kissing him on the forehead, he rather liked it that he did. “Hey Mum,
[/color]” he smiled at her and was happy to see that she picked up the Slytherin cupcake, he knew that his father would go for the Gryffindor one, thought he felt kind of bad about not taking a Hufflepuff one, after all he was close with his cousin Dunstable as well. But he needed to support his two best friends and his house, he knew Dunstable understood that, he wasn’t like James and got pissed off because Al was in Slytherin. He then saw Hugo show up beside him and he smiled at his younger cousin, the two of them were close despite the fact that Hugo was in Gryffindor and Al in Slytherin. But Hugo was nothing like James, that was for sure. Plus Al was also close with Rose, Hugo’s sister that also happened to be in Gryffindor. “ Hiding out here instead of watching Al?” Al Shrugged lightly at Hugo’s comment. “ I thought perhaps Poppy would like some help,” he smiled lightly at Hugo. Though that wasn’t the full truth, sure he wanted to watch his two best friends, but at the same time he felt left out. “ You don’t have to help me Albus, or stay to keep me company. You should go and get a good seat. I’m sure all the good ones will be taken soon.” he heard Poppy comment and he couldn’t help but smile at her. Perhaps he should go and sit down, besides Hugo was there now and he definitely wouldn’t mind sitting next to him. “ But we can go in and sit down together if you’d like?” he asked lightly, a bit happy to see that Hugo had taken a Slytherin cupcake, but he wasn’t going to comment on it knowing his father wasn’t too far away. He waited to see if Hugo was ready to sit down, he had a feeling that his mum and dad would probably follow with them as well, not that he would mind his mum sitting next to him, it was more that he’d be annoyed of his father cheering on Gryffindor. Why did they have to be so loud and up so early? It was a Saturday for merlin’s sake. It was a few moments before noticing that Aubrey’s bed had also been empty reminded Rose of what day it was. The day of the first task and she knew her fellow Gryffindors wouldn’t forgive her if she wasn’t there to show her support. She especially didn’t want to upset James. That’s what you got for being a Weasley, nearly a dozen cousins and of course one of them had to be chosen to be a champion. She herself was glad she hadn’t bothered to enter her name. She’d have to have been up hours ago.
Knowing that she had better get a move on or she’d be late Rose groaned as she pulled back the curtains and the sunlight however dim was shining down on her. At least the sun was still shining, it could have been worse. There could have been snow. If it weren’t for the fact that the November mornings were chilly she would have pulled on the black dress she had at the bottom of the trunk but instead pulled on a pair of blue jeans and a red sweater with her house crest on it. Followed by a similarly colored hat and scarf and she was ready to go. There was nothing more to do with her hair except pull it up and start to head down to where everyone else was heading. Aubrey and the other girls were already long gone, having been up much earlier, and Rose wasn’t about to seek out Aubrey’s company at the moment. She may have been her best friend but Aubrey was awfully peppy in the morning, and James was champion so there was no sitting with him.
As she happened to be passing by she saw a line of people and two very familiar boys. Well it was just her luck to find both her brother and favorite cousin. Maybe she could sit with them if they didn’t mind. Where her parents going to behere to watch and support the champions as well? Going over to where they were standing she happened to notice the cupcakes, different ones for each of the houses. She was hungry and cupcakes were better than nothing. Picking up a slytherin cupcake she took a bite and smiled. It was good. ”They are delicious Poppy! She knew that if James had saw she had picked up a Slytherin cupcake he might be a little offended. But Rose was trying to support that Albus had friends who were the Slytherin champions. ”Mind if I sit with you two?

[/div] Something in the Way she Moves Bloody hell, she thought, where was Harry? Just because he was getting older didn’t mean he had to take his time. Did he not want to see James do well at the tournament? Taking another bite of the cupcake, she watched as Hugo made his way towards them and grabbed a Slytherin cupcake. Well now, she knew neither James nor Harry would have been too impressed with that but she was delighted. Hugo had turned out to be a nice kid, no doubt it was Hermione that had brought him up, she could just imagine her dear brother simply wanting to play quidditch and be a big kid himself. "Good morning to you too dear," she smiled sweetly, "of course, I want to see my boy do well and of course Al's friends." She added the last part for Al, she didn’t like the fact there was favouritism in the family. Some days it felt like Harry and James verses Albus and herself; poor Lily was always stuck in the middle.
Turning back to Poppy, her smile still on her face. "Poppy dear, how many times have I told you to call me Ginny. Mrs Potter makes me sound too old," she chuckled, "But I am doing good, the Daily Prophet's been keeping me busy." She took another bite of her cupcake. Not long after Hugo turned up, another Weasley was making themselves known. She nodded a greeting to Fred, chewing slowly on the delicious cupcake. She let the boys and Poppy talk to themselves, glancing up towards the castle, frowning slightly. Surely Harry wouldn’t miss this for the world. Maybe she ought to find out if he was even out of bed yet. But before she could move, Rose appeared, taking a Slytherin cupcake. "Morning Rosie," she pipped up, finishing her cupcake. She thought of herself as the 'cool' aunt and hoped that her nieces and nephews thought the same; they would have told her otherwise, right? "You don’t mind if I sit with you, do you?" she asked her family, at least if she sat with her son, she wouldn’t have to listen to the constant cheering for Gryffindor with Harry.

i'll be your everything , The first task had been something he had been looking forward to since the champions had been chosen in October. Why was he looking forward to it? Because Hufflepuff had gotten two good champions in Yori and Dunstable. Having to miss the quid ditch match due to a small injury he knew he just couldn’t miss the first task. Having lost the match he hoped that Yori and Dunstable would do well with the task, as biased as it may be he was really hoping for a Hufflepuff win. The other houses usually got most of the glory, and the way he saw it Hufflepuff definitely deserved a win or two. The one thing he hadn’t counted on was oversleeping the morning of the task. It wasn’t until he realized the boys dormitory was mostly empty did he realize he very well might miss it, which just wouldn’t do at all.
Pulling on a black pair of jeans and a t-shirt, he pulled a yellow hoodie over the clothing as the November morning promised to be chilly, winter was right around the corner after all. Finally with one last look in the mirror he deemed himself ready and acceptable and made a dash through the hallways of Hogwarts until he finally found himself on the grounds, following the crowds of students before him. At least he hadn’t missed it completely and if he was lucky it hadn’t started already. Maybe one of the champions had been running late or something, or he hadn’t gotten up as late as he thought. August slowed as he seen a small crowd of students he recognized, one being his very own sister, and an adult.
August saw no harm in at least going over to say a quick hello before following the students down to watch the first task. Maybe he could even sit with Poppy so they could support Hufflepuff together, as Frank was probably supporting Gryffindor and his friends. Not that August could hold that against anybody, every student at Hogwarts probably wanted their champions to do well. Finally he could see what had brought everyone over, Poppy had made cupcakes. And he loved cupcakes. ”Hello everyone. Poppy.” There were quite a few Gryffindors and a Slytherin, where were all the hufflepuffs? Who wouldn’t want a hufflepuff cupcake? Taking one off of the plate he bit into it. It was delicious as every, Poppy wasn’t a terrible cook by any means. ”Has the task started yet?”

With a wide smile, Poppy kept accepting more and more people around her little stand, perfectly content in just feeding the masses and talking. As long as everyone liked the cupcakes and were enjoying themselves, she really couldn’t be happier. She couldn’t help it if she liked making people smile, it seemed like someone had to do it and honestly, she really didn’t like seeing people unhappy. And what was better to brighten up everyone’s day than a few sweets? She didn’t think there was anything better.
“Hi Fred,” she said cheerfully and waved slightly. “How’re you?” she asked in earnest, genuinely wanting to know how he was doing. She didn’t know Fred that well, but the Longbottoms had always been good friends of the Weasleys and the Potters, and she was determined to be as friendly as possible with all of them. All she really knew about Fred was that he was a Gryffindor in her brother’s year, and he had inherited his father’s knack for pranks and jokes, some she had had the privilege of witnessing and had enjoyed them immensely. “Thanks Fred, I’m glad you like them,” she returned with a smile. “But they’re on the house, so dig in!” she gave a small laugh and waved her arms above the cupcakes.
She nodded and smiled as Albus asked Hugo to go sit down. She’d much rather they go enjoy watching the task than have them stuck here with her. After all, she wanted to go down to the Lake rather soon to get the chance to cheer on her housemates and friends too, it was just that right now, she was otherwise occupied. “I’m glad you like them Rose. I hope you’re doing well,” she commented, before turning to a first year and returning the hug the young girl from her house was offering in exchange for a caupcake. Maybe that was an idea; she’d charge a hug for each cupcake. She had always found that hugs tended to make people a little happier also.
“Oh no Mrs Potter,” she shook her head, looking a little like she was offended. “My mummy says it’s inappropriate to call adults by their first names. But perhaps we could negotiate...” she trailed off, trying to think of another way to address Mrs Potter. She would never be able to call the older woman by just her first name, it was terribly disrespectful and impolite to her. “How about Mrs Ginny? Would that be better?” she asked with a hopeful smile. That would be the closest she’d be able to get to calling her by her first name, hopefully she found it adequate. “I’m glad you’re doing well, also.”
When Poppy spotted her younger brother coming near, she knew exactly what her plan was going to be. She smiled and greeted him, and watched him pick up a hufflepuff cupcake and bite into it, pouncing on him and wrapping her arms around him. “New rule; all brothers who want a cupcake, owe me a hug!” she laughed and squeezed him gently. “I don’t think it has. Some people are still taking their seats, and I haven’t heard Headmaster Shacklebolt or the Minister announce anything yet.”

"Morning Rosie," Rose was glad that her Aunt Ginny was going to watch the task thread. It would do good for Albus to have someone who was willing to support more than just Gryffindor. Her father and Uncle Harry seemed to be more biased towards the house, although most people were for their former houses. It seemed to surprise some people that she hadn’t ended up in Ravenclaw but she knew that she belonged in Gryffindor. She wasn’t cut for Ravenclaw, and her best friend was in Gryffindor so it was good. Rose had gotten over not being in the same house as Albus a long time ago, and they were still close, they just had a little rivalry going on when it came to quidditch. ”Morning Aunt Ginny.” She had half expected her aunt to at least tease her for taking a slytherin cupcake she knew her father would have said something but her aunt was not like her father at all. Sometimes it was hard to even believe they were related. Although the question hadn’t really been directed at her, or at least not entirely her Rose was relieved that her aunt wanted to sit with them. It beat being stuck all by herself. ”You can sit with me if the boys decide they don’t want to sit with us.”
“I’m glad you like them Rose. I hope you’re doing well,” Rose had always gotten along with Poppy reasonably well. Her parents were old family friends. Rose hadn’t known that Poppy was such a great baker, although there was probably a lot she didn’t know about her. It seemed nice that Poppy had made cupcakes for all of the houses, not just her own. ”These cupcakes were such a great idea. I’m surprised there’s any left.”

[/div] Something in the Way she Moves She had to give Poppy credit, the girl had been raised well, too well if you asked her. She had more respect than anyone she knew and even though she had given the young Hufflepuff permission to call her by her first name, yet the girl was too polite to do so, instead she wanted to...negotiate what to call Ginny. Mrs Ginny? Well it was better than Mrs Potter, but still made her feel a little old. Surely that wasn’t the girl's intentions. "Call me Aunt Ginny, after all we're practically family," [/b] she smiled. Being placed in the same house as Neville, growing up around him and fighting in a war alongside him had to mean something right? Besides they were still great friends even to this day. Poppy's younger brother had walked up to the growing group, somewhat killing that conversation as Poppy hugged her brother. She allowed the sibling to talk, discussing the tournament and whether it had started or not. There were still many people making their way down towards the stands, surely the minister and Kingsley would wait for everyone to be seated before announcing anything. Rose spoke up saying she could sit with her if the boys didn’t want them to sit with them. She turned to Rose. "I'll take up that offer,"[/b] she spoke. Rose was always a nice girl, definitely one of her favourite nieces. Even though she tried not to pick favourites among her nephews and nieces, she couldn’t help but like Rose more than others. Perhaps it was because she saw the young Gryffindor girl more so than her other nieces. Maybe it was because the girl reminded her a bit of herself. Post by ALARICA ISOBEL AMETHYST on Aug 29, 2011 9:49:59 GMT -6
alarica was excited for the day, and as she awoke early that morning she grinned. even if she wasn't taking part in the task, she was still looking forward to watching it - and cheering on dunstable and yori of course. she didn't know them personally, but she'd seen them around and in the common room of course. they were nice people, and she was going to be cheering them on along with her fellow hufflepuff's.
typically a happy 'puff, she got up and grabbed her robes, pulling on a hufflepuff sweater and donning her hufflepuff scalf. she headed out of her dorm room after a quick glance to see that everyone else had already left; she hoped she wasnt late, she didn't want to miss the task. she hurried out of the dorm and through the empty common room, gathering that everyone had already gone off to do the task.
she hurried up the stairs and toward the doors out to the grounds, ignoring the great hall - worried that she was going to miss the task if she didn't hurry. she headed out to the stands where she saw a group of people gathered around a fellow 'puff - poppy longbottom. alarica smile, poppy was always nice and so alarica glanced at the others then headed over to her, grinning lightly as she saw all the cupcakes too. "oh wow these look great," she said, going to take one and smiling. "hey poppy, how're you?"

Being back on Hogwarts grounds was always bittersweet for Astoria. Yes, it had been a very long time since the events of Voldemort’s second rising, and honestly, she hadn’t had much part in it at all. Even for the good side, she had stayed out of it as best as she could. Yet the feeling of remorse and sadness still lingered. She may not have participated, but she knew enough people that had to feel a little bit of pride too. The entire thing was terribly conflicting, feelings of sadness, renewed hope and joy, all mixed up together in one small package that Astoria had never really felt like unwrapping and sorting out. For now, and as it probably would be for a very long time, she’d ignore it all and just concentrate on not getting her heels stuck in the grass as she walked toward the Black Lake to watch her son participate in the first task of the tournament.
It seemed as though two crows were forming; one down right by the lake and another further back and off to the side. Deciding to inspect one before going to join the other, Astoria veered slightly to meet the other group that seemed smaller, though just as enthusiastic as the larger one waiting for the task to begin down by the water. With a light laugh Tori inspected the booth as she grew closer. It was simple, made out of wood and probably transfigured to be so. It was quite quaint and cute, if she did say so herself.
The cupcakes looked exceptionally made up, she decided as she reached for a Slytherin one; her alumni and her son’s current house, and thus the house he and his friend were competing for. She took a small bite, first of the icing than of the actual cake itself, and hummed around it. “Well, darling,” she said to the young girl manning the booth that everyone seemed to be concentrated on. “These are quite delicious,” she said, taking another bite and swallowing before opening her mouth again to speak. “You must take after your mother, Miss Longbottom,” she added with a smile.
