You knew that you had the right job for yourself when, even after years and years and years of it, you never tired of waking up in the morning to go to it. Yes, he'd pretty much picked this career out for himself when he was a little boy, but apparently even little boy Benji had had a great idea about what adult Benji would enjoy. Sure, there had been a few days through the years when Benji had 'called in sick' when he wasn't just because he needed a bit of a break, but for the most part he was always happy to head off to the office each day.
That was why when he actually had days off, it felt really, really weird. His alarm went off at 7am as usual (he'd forgotten to shut it off the night before, and was rather irked that he'd lost the time to sleep in) and it was impossible for the auror to fall back asleep in bed. He grudgingly woke and got ready for the day; getting dressed, having breakfast, playing a bit of piano, cleaning up around the house, and then finally relaxing in his living room, where he read a book for roughly forty-five minutes before he fell fast asleep.
Sometime later, he wasn't sure if it was minutes or hours, he was awoken by an annoying pecking on his arm. Sleepily Benji tried to brush the annoyance away, and was quickly rewarded by a very hard, angry peck on his hand. "Agh!" he yelped, eyes shooting open to stare at the area of his hand. Blood blossomed from a fresh cut on the back of his hand, and a very familiar snowy owl resting on the armrest of his chair. Where as Benji might, on other days, be irked with the bird, its appearance and obvious urgent need to give a message woke him instantly, and he quickly took a letter from the animal, stroking its neck quickly before it flew off through the same open window it had entered in.
After a quick glance at the letter, Benji stood and grabbed a light jacket from his closet, turning on the spot instantly and reappearing with a crack directly in front of his little sister's home. He knocked on the door, rethinking bringing along the jacket seeing as it was just slung over his shoulder. In his rush to leave and see what was going on he hadn't even taken the time to put it on his back, but oh well. The auror rang the doorbell near the door, calling through it so they could know who their company was, "Lyra? It's Benji."

Will was just enjoying the white hot chocolate when he heard a knock at the door and realized it was Lyra's brother. Of course he supposed that he'd let her answer it since he knew fully well that Ben normally didn't agree much with Will's decision. It was hard not to especially since Will had taken the job up as a dragon tamer, but he loved it more than anything he could have chosen. Although, his career path wasn't exactly fully determined for him just yet as he still wanted to be an Unspeakable, and it was on his list of things to do. Maybe, he was an Unspeakable already and didn't tell anyone what he really did making it look like he was just an ordinary dragon tamer.
Nah, he wasn't that good at hiding secrets and he would have eventually told Lyra everything he had done in a day in the first place. Mostly thinking that Unspeakables were sent to far off areas that weren't within a normal jurisdiction, but if the Ministry did fall he was sure they would be back there in an instant. That job was something that wasn't to be taken lightly at all, but only the brave few that took that job were ever heard of again. Almost like their names were erased from history itself just so they could lead the job they had and make themselves a whole new life as if they were starting over. The thoughts that ruled his mind made him recognize that the knocking should have been answered soon.
Will was already getting up and moving towards the door as he opened it for Ben, but he looked towards him with solemn eyes. Smiling warmly glad to see his brother-in-law there finally. After all, it wasn't that long ago they had the wedding, well okay it had been a while since the wedding, but still he considered Ben to be a rather good influence on him. "Come in, Ben, Lyra's in the living room along with Louis Weasley," he said to him as he opened the door letting him in, seeing as he decided to be nice. After all it was Lyra and Will's house now, and Lyra would have to get used to the Hayward name too. "How's your job going?" he asked as he walked back towards the living room with him and soon moved to his usual chair while the couch remained free. Will decided to let Lyra tell Ben the news instead of him.

lyra hadn't even heard the door, she'd been a little absorbed by the conversation, and by the fact that she was suddenly really craving a cup of tea. lyra didn't drink tea very often, she'd always been a coffee person or hot chocolate...but right now both of the thoughts of those drinks made her feel ill. she shook her head and made to stand, "i'll be right back," she said to louis with a small smile before heading to the kitchen, not hearing the doorbell as she switched the kettle on a hid a small yawn behind her hand.
finally she heard a familiar voice called "Lyra? It's Benji." through the door and she grinned. oh her brother was here! she poured out the hot water into a mug and left it for the moment as she headed to open the door. but will had already beaten her too it and she smiled, pausing behind him as her husband opened to reveal her brother. "Come in, Ben, Lyra's in the living room along with Louis Weasley," lyra grinned and kissed will's cheek gently to tell him that she was right here, "actually lyra is standing next to you.. but benji, long time no see!"
she couldn't help but move forward to go and hug her big brother. now that they had such busy lives it was sometimes harder than it used to be to keep in touch...but they'd done so nonetheless - helped by their trusted owls carrying assortment of letters, invitations to meet every now and then and the cards and presents at christmas and birthdays. she went to pull back with a light smile and shut the door behind him. "did you want anything to drink?..." she asked, wondering how to tell him the news..blurt it out ooor what? she took a deep breathe and figured she should just come out with it. "well the reason i called you over here was to tell you that...i'm pregnant." she announced with a grin.
