theia kept her chin high as she exited the great hall, everything about her exuberated confidence as she opened the door into the side room and quietly closed it behind her, consquentially shutting out the noise of the hall's cheers and mutterings. theia didn't care if half of them were irritated she was chosen over them, or if they were mutting just for the fact she was slytherin or seemed so darn confident. she didn't care. she was chosen, and that was all that mattered to her right now.
of course she felt a flash of guilt over the fact that she'd been chosen rather than her best friends albus or scorpius but still, most of her felt aprehension and excitement, but also, glad. what with her parent's threat still hanging over her head, she'd at least passed the first test to get closer to what she needed. she needed to win this thing, and now that she was chosen she was one step closer. well, not that she expected any less but still.
that half smirked half grin still pulled the corners of her lips up as she paused in the center of the room, taking a glance around at the reasonably sparse room. there were a few pieces of furnature about the place, otherwise it was fairely empty. urgh how dull. theia sighed, putting one hand on her hip and gazing about. so what now? would she be forced to wait for hours until the next two champions were chosen already? couldn't they hurry this thing up? the whole 'suspense' thing was rather old and wearing. with a frown, theia flicked her long tumbling curls over her shoulder, waiting for the other champions to show up or to see where that ravenclaw girl had gotten to seeing as she'd been the first called out and had to around here somewhere.
( ooc , hehe so kassy thought perhaps the champions could have a thread so they have somewhere to post once they're chosen so... post below champs! : D )

Dunstable still couldn’t believe that his name was called and he got chosen as the house champion for Hufflepuff. Really, he thought for sure his best mate, Nate, would get it, but apparently the Goblet of Fire had chosen his name. Dunstable had opened the door to the small room that he was instructed to go to and the sounds of cheering could be heard for just a few moments until he shut the door behind him. He sighed softly leaning against the door for a moment before standing up and looking around. Claire and Theresa were already in there, but Dunstable didn’t know Claire that well. He knew Theresa, mainly because she was one of Albus’s best friends and Dunstable hung out with Albus often.
He slowly walked into the room more, not wanting the door to hit him when the next champion arrived. The next one was the Gryffindor one right? Then it should be over with and Professor Shacklebolt was to come in there and explain things to them. Hopefully it would be too much to explain to them, Dunstable was still trying to take in the fact that he got named Hufflepuff Champion. “Hey Theresa,” he said with a light smile to the Slytherin girl before standing near her. He ran a hand through his shaggy brown hair before letting his arm fall to his side as he waited for the last champion to enter.

Claire had walked in minutes before Theresa had. She had been standing in the middle of the room, looking around at the emptiness around her. Man, was the room quiet. Her blue eyes looked everywhere but the door. She was kind of scared to know who he competition would be, she didn't want to see the next person walking in. So after what seemed to be an eternity, she heard the door being opened. With a glance towards it, Claire saw the face of a Slytherin girl she wasn't too familiar with. She had half expected Scorpius Malfoy to walk through the door, but instead his friend was there.
Claire didn't make a move towards her or an attempt to talk to her. She was usually invisible to everyone, so it didn't surprise her that Theresa didn't seem to see her standing there in plain sight. She crossed her arms and stood there, waiting and waiting to see what would happen next. Who would walk through the door? Could it be James Potter? Maybe one of his many, many cousins? The possibility was high. When she once again heard the door, her expectations were met. Sure, Dunstable wasn't a Weasley, but he was Potter's cousin.
And as many times, once again, Claire was simply ignored. Theresa had ignored her, Dunstable had ignored her. She was furious inside. She wasn't part veela so she didn't deserve to be talked to, was that it? Still, Claire kept her composure as Dursley started to make conversation with Theresa. Claire felt awkward standing there by herself as the other two stood just a few feet away. Hopefully, the last champion would be coming their way soon and so would the Headmaster so he could give further instructions. For now, she'd just have to wait and be patient.

theia sighed as she waited impatiently for something, anything[/i[ to happen. for at least someone to walk through that door! theia vaugely wondered which champion would next be called. gryffindor or hufflepuff. theia most likely though hufflepuff - the goblet would surely save gryffindor for last, after all, wasn't it the favoured house? theresa kelsey rolled her eyes at that, but she thought that it was believed true. people seemed to prefer gryffindor, think that it was the best house. oh how naive and simple-minded people could be. though not one for real house rivalry, theia was hardly fond of gryffindors or ravenclaws. hufflepuff's she didn't mind so much but still.
then she heard the door, and theia spun around, chocolate gaze flicking to the figure who entered. she blinked as she noted it was actually a friend of hers - dunstable - and then half grinned, feeling perfectly relaxed. “Hey Theresa,” she nodded. "hey dunst... congrats." she said lightly, having not really even bothered to wonder who the hufflepuff champion would be, but glad it was a friend of hers ... well even if it did mean they would be against each other but still.
theia hadn't actually noticed the ravenclaw champion until now as she caught a movement out of the corner of her eye, turning her head quickly to catch sight of the girl before frowning slightly. she didn't look happy. what was her problem? was it because theia hadn't said congratulations to her? what did she expect! theia was a slytherin, she didn't congratulate the people she didn't like. she didn't care about the people she didn't like. and so with a slight curling of her top lip at the ravenclaw girl she turned her head away again, flicking her hair over her shoulder in a dismissive guesture as she glanced back to dunstable. " so three down, one to go then i suppose... ready to get your butt kicked by me?" she grinned, raising an eyebrow slightly in half joke. she of course was going to be aiming for the win, but at the same time, dunstable was still a mate and all.

All those chosen were almost unexpected she figured. Each of the houses had already guessed who would be picked but with the names of those standing, there was a little shock. She was glad at the same time however. This was going to be an interesting tournament and she was looking forward to it. She stood next to the other three with a serious look on her face. There was no way she would show her skepticism or worry to this group. No, they were rivals from now on.
She nodded to the others but kept quiet. Just because they were all chosen by the goblet did not mean she needed to change how she normally acted for them. She wasn't a people person and thus wasn't much of a talker. She only could wonder what was in store for them next. What was this surprise that the headmaster was talking about and what was the first task going to be. To be honest she was nervous. And why shouldn't she be? This evening was full of unexpected occurrences and there was more to come. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • F O R . I . W I L L . F I G H T . "Hey, guys, guess what? There's a twist!" The cheerful words were out of Jaycen's mouth before he even got a good look at the room beyond the door and the people inside of it. Once his voice had trailed off he looked at his surroundings, noticing Theia and Dunstable closer together with Claire and the Gryffindor champion, Alaya her name was he thought, separated a little ways away.
Jayce couldn't remember the last time he was grinning this hard. Honestly. He was just in such an awesome mood. It was pretty cool, thinking your chances were completely gone and then being called back 'to victory'. Mind you, he could have done without the extra stress of thinking he wasn't chosen, but he was here now and damn it felt good! He would be the one revealing to the other champions the news that there were three more coming after him. It did kind of suck that he wouldn't be there in the great hall to cheer along with the rest of the school, but he'd prefer this to sitting in the great hall for another half hour and then walking back to his commons area like all of the other students who hadn't been chosen.
He moved closer to Claire, being most familiar with her, as he decided to add on a little bit more to what he'd said before. He spoke mainly to Claire, realizing that she seemed to have been left alone the longest in here, but he projected his Irish accented voice so that everyone could hear what he was saying. After all, it was no secret and he liked to think that he was a pretty friendly guy. "Apparently there are two champions from each house. At least, that's what I assume. I think that all Kingsley said was that there were more champions to announce. Logically that says one more per house."
He realized that he might have a bit of a target on his back in this competition. As far as he could tell, not trying to be conceited or anything, he was the 'biggest' name here. There were lots of other Quidditch players, and Claire was on the prefect team, too, but he was the headboy. He obviously already had the faith of the headmaster and the cup that he could take responsibility and act according to unpredictable situations. But if the other kids wanted to 'look down' on him just because he was accomplished, so be it. He'd rise up to the challenge and show them all that he was here for a reason.

By the time she had reached the room, Yori had managed to reign on her pulse and breathing, but she was fairly certain she still looked like a deer caught in the headlights. She couldn't believe it; she was chosen as a hufflepuff champion. Just how did a goblet make these sort of decisions exactly? Well, it was a goblet, magical or not. Maybe it was a dumb idea to let an inanimate object decide on who was going to compete in a perilous tournament for the entire year. Then again, it certainly was flashy with its changing color flames. The Okinawan could at least take some solace in having been announced with style, even as she did something as stupid as yelped when her name was announced. How dumb was that?
When she stepped in, Yori picked out Dunstable and Theia sitting together right away, Jaycen and Clair kinda-sorta paired off, and Alaya hovering around there. She simply found herself a wall, and did her best not to just slide against it to the floor. If anything, it was going to be her support for the evening. A deep breath and she gave a friendly smile to everyone, trying to bury her nerves. ”E-Evening. I imagine its a good one for everybody, all things considered.” After all, she could understand why the others would be ecstatic over the news. Everyone seemed so fitting for the tournament.
The hufflepuff couldn't help thinking that she was the odd man out at the moment. She recognized most of them either being a prefect or quidditch player, but well, Yori had nothing. This was the only thing she had that put her in any sort of spotlight, and the Asian wasn't exactly sure she liked the idea yet of so many expectations on her. It never exactly worked out for her before, there wasn't a real reason why this would be any different. Well, no, that was a lie. She did have better luck with people here than she did back home. This wasn't exactly her smartest idea either way though. Well, now that she had gotten herself into this mess, Yori might as well prove everyone wrong about her.

Dunstable smiled at Theresa again. “Not if I kick your butt first,” he joked just as the Gryffindor Champion came strolling in. It was Alaya, someone that Dunstable didn’t know well yet he knew that she was good friends with his cousin James. Actually to be quite honest Dunstable was surprised not to see James walk through the doors, he really thought it was going to be James, but apparently he was wrong. Dunstable nodded at Alaya before turning back to Theresa. He knew that Professor Shacklebolt would be in there shorty as Alaya was the last champion to be picked.
“So what do you think—” he stopped talking as he heard the door swing open again and completely surprised by who walked through the door. It was the Head Boy Jaycen Tate, but perhaps he had come in there to tell them they could head out now, except he said something completely unexpected. Two champions for each house? They changed the rules since three years prior? Well who knew that would happen and now Dunstable was curious as to who the other Hufflepuff Champion was going to be.
He looked at Thersea again, raising a brow as if asking what she thought of this whole ordeal. What if the other person in his house he got paired up with happened to be someone he didn’t get along with? Well it was a good thing he didn’t have to debate long as the door swung open again and in walked Yori. Well this was someone he could probably be able to partner up with just fine. Yori was a year younger than him and they didn’t often see each other, but at least they got along just fine. “Hey Yori,” he smiled at her trying to make her feel a bit more at ease, he had a feeling the young Japanese girl was probably a bit terrified at being chosen.

Scorpius pushed the door open and strode into the room, looking around at the other champions. So these were the people he had to beat, no problem, he thought before his eyes landed on Theia and Dunstable. He smirked as he casually moved over to them, ignoring everyone else. "Guess you're stuck with me," he said to Theia before turning to Dunstable, "Congrats," he spoke to him, nodding in acknowledgement.
All they were waiting for was the last champion and he had a feeling he knew who it was going to be. James bloody Potter. Couldn’t he do anything without the damn Gryffindor having to compete with him? Perhaps he was wrong though. Still no matter, he thought. Slytherin was the best house there was. "What’s taking so long?" he asked, almost in a complaining tone. He hated waiting.
Running a hand though he hair, his mind already thinking about the tournament. Would they all compete against each other, would they be in teams, would they do challenges based on gender? So many questions running through his mind and yet none of them were answered. He doubted anyone else knew much more than him. He looked around the room once more, noticing how bare it seemed, they could have at least put chairs in, even a pitcher of water and something to nibble on. Guess the professors never thought of that. Thinking of the professors made him wonder there they were and where was the last champion?

James almost wanted to tip-toe into the room as he knew that the other champions were waiting behind this door, and he wasn't about to make a grand entrance. Especially since he knew the two Slytherin's within the room were a common dislike to him, however, he considered Scorpius a rival of sorts especially when it came to Quidditch. In person they could barely stand in the same room as one another without making a snide remark, but even so he wasn't about to back out of this. Headmaster Shacklebolt better hurry in here after him, or else there would be hell to pay and many bodies strewn about lying unconscious.
James did have a bone to pick with Albus after all of this was over though, and would question him about why those two slytherin's had come in to sit down at the table. It wasn't too hard to figure out, but he kept that to himself, clearing his mind. Not wanting anyone to read it as he learned that the hard way so put on thoughts of what the first task would be like. Closing his eyes and then taking the first step forward as he swung the door open. There they were, all seven of the other champions, and the last one to enter. It was like him to be late as he had indeed dawdled a little to get a certain reaction from the other champions. Wearing a stupid smile on his face that said he had done this intentionally.
Noticing Alaya, his best friend, actually standing a bit far off from everyone else, ignored the two Slytherins in the room, and headed straight towards Alaya. Grinning slightly, many could have seen this coming, but he was curious as to how the tasks would be divided up. Would they each be graded on their own performances? Was there a test to see if they would even get to the first task at all? Was there some ultimate doom pit of death they would have no chance of overcoming? Thoughts roamed and roamed until finally he worked up his mind to focus on how excited he was at having been chosen. It came as no surprise to him really, since he was the only male that had entered.
So logic basically dictated he was the rightful heir to be the champion this year, and now his ego was building up. "The true champion has arrived, and hey Alaya, you excited? I know I am, I cannot wait to see how this turns out. Oh, hey Dunstable, grats, and congratulations to the rest of you too," merely gesturing with a wave of his hand towards the Slytherin girl and boy on purpose just to agitate them. James figured if they wanted to harm him they would have already taken out their frustration on him earlier when he had entered the room.

the brunette watched as a gryffindor walked in, her face giving no hint as to what she thought. the girl was nothing really ... infact theia thought her only real competition to be dunstable. yes, of course she was already thinking of the others as competition. she had to, it was always best to think of strategy and get to know your opponants as soon as you could. size the others up. she needed to know who was going to barrel right into the challanges head first.. who'd sit back and think...who was fastest at defended and who was best at attacking. who was smartest and logical, and who could think on their feet and scramble through situations with luck. she needed to figure that out, and then she'd know exactly how to underhand them all and beat them. of course she thought she could win. she wouldn't have entered if she didn't intend to be the one with the trophy and glory and all that.
“So what do you think—” theia glanced at dunstable as she heard him speak, then suddenly the opening of the door interrupted and she looked up, expecting a proffessor..."Hey, guys, guess what? There's a twist!" theia frowned and narrowed her chocolate eyes at the guy. what? a twist? oh she knew what was couple...double the amount of opponants. theia pressed her lips together slightly in a small sign of dislike. double the amount of opponants meant a tougher lot to beat, not that she still didn't expect to win but still..it meant that bit much more effort and trouble.
as some hufflepuff walked in nervously, theia glanced over her and immediatly dismissed her as weak. if she couldn't handle walking into a room of opponants how would she survive being up against them in tasks? no, theia thought she already had the female hufflepuff figured already. the door opened once more and she looked up, wondering who the other slytherin would be, perhaps hoping for someone she didn't know. it would make things easier if she didn't know them, hadn't befriended them. not that theia would show much compassion when it came to helping the others if they needed it. she was going for the win, right?
"Guess you're stuck with me," theia's lips turned up in a half smirk, half smile as she looked at scorpius head for her and dunstable. "we're working in teams then?" she half asked in brief interest. hmmm .. that would be .. both useful and annoying. useful because at least she'd have someone decent to work with. she knew scorp could take care of himself, and he was smart and logical and all that, so he'd be an asset as a teammate. but it was annoying if it meant that they wouldn't be a team thoughout the whole thing... and if they clashed heads. theia wasn't always that great a teamplayer, even with her friends. she couldn't help it, she liked her own way. but she wanted to win this, and scorp was one of the better people she'd have chosen to be teamed with if she had had the choice. shame it wasn't albus, but scorpius was just as much a friend."What’s taking so long?"
"patience, scorp.." she half teased with a light, friendly smirk. the smirk dissapeared as she heard the door go once more and saw the final 'champion'. james potter. "urgh, i'd have thought the goblet would have had some originality ... " she snarled quietly, narrowing her eyes. she did not like james potter. that much was fairely obvious. well.. at least she could see a stray curse heading his way one time or another during a task or two... that thought made her smirk..not in a pleasent way either. catching herself, she smoothed the expression over into an inpenetrable cool mask. if theia was known for anything, she certainly was good when it came to hiding her emotions and putting on a charm.
"The true champion has arrived.." she heard him start and she raised her eyebrows hautily. "nice to see you've left your inflated ego back in your seat, potter... " she taunted, nothing nice about the apparently teasing tone. albus' brother or not .. she did not like james. "..perhaps you should have stayed there yourself, this isn't a game and it's certainly not for little boys." she looked at him coldly and looked away, defiantly ignoring him with the intensity of a glacier, and instead going to make casual conversation with scorpius and dunstable.

It would make everything more interesting. She watched as more students entered. She did not know the Ravenclaw all too well, just that he was a beater and head boy, as for the hufflepuff she had no idea who the girl was. She did know Scorpius a little. She was glad that she did not know these people enough to be on anyone's bad side. She waited silently watching the others getting an idea at what they were like.
She laughed slightly at Scorpius' impatient attitude. It was interesting watching the other champions file in the room and immediately walk over to their peers that they knew. It was typical nature but it still was interesting for Alaya to watch. She was calculating. She did not see it as a good idea to get overly excited about being chosen. Nothing was really determined until the actual trials. Everyone in that room was chosen for a reason and it was a good idea to figure out why. For Alaya, there was no one in that room that she did not believe would not be someone to worry about in the upcoming challenges.
She watched as the last perosn walked in. She smiled when she noticed her friend walk in. She expected it slightly that he would be one of the chosen when more students walked into the room. Alaya was glad that there was someone there that she knew well. She rolled her eyes at his comments. She figured that she should have expected him to be that way, It was James and he did get a bit carried away at times. "You know if you were a bit more egotistical your head might explode. Just saying" She teased. It was harmless and she knew he wouldn't take it the wrong way like others would.
Alaya figured that was it for the champions but she couldn't be too sure. She was curious about what was going to happen. She knew that they wouldn't know about the trials till it was the day of and most certainly wouldn't reacieve any hints till later. She was still feeling a bit ancious about what was in store but she wasn't about to show it. "Sure I'm..excited" She was, but she was more so in that calculating mood at that moment. She figured the excitement would hit her later in the common room. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • F O R . I . W I L L . F I G H T . U N T I L The Bitter End

Claire was still minding her own business when the Gryffindor girl walked in. So that was it, huh? She looked around the room at the others, looking at the competition. She was about ready for the Headmaster to walk through the door when it opened one more time. But it wasn't the Headmaster. Claire watched in amazement as Jaycen stood there. What was going on? She glanced at the rest of the champions, then her attention went back to her friend when he spoke. Teams? They were working in teams? This made her extremely giddy. Hello, she had the Head Boy as her partner. Jaycen was pretty smart and quick on his feet and if all failed, he could use his looks to distract the other girls, right? Right!
She walked over to him, patted his back and said, "congratulations, buddy!" She knew this was in the bag, especially when she saw the shy Hufflepuff walk in through the door. Then it was all ruined by Malfoy walking in as well, though that was not much of a surprise. Still, the Slytherins were... Slytherins. Claire didn't expect them to play fair, she figured Theresa was already working out a way to sabotage everyone else, because that was the Slytherin way. If at first you don't succeed, make sure everyone else fails.
Her attention once more was brought back to the door as it slowly opened, to reveal none other than James Potter himself. It took a great deal of will power for Claire not the roll her eyes at the boy as her stolled, yes, strolled, in. She chose to ignore him for a moment, not that she had anything against him. On the contrary, James was a very cool kid, but Claire knew he'd be hard to beat. All this time, apart from saying that small sentence to Jayce, Claire had kept her mouth shut, but when she heard the Slytherin girl make her little comment, Claire turned to her. "You're one to talk about inflated egos," she wasn't quiet, no use in hiding her voice. Theresa was the last person she wanted to be near.

James was just walking in when he got a few retorts but he casually waved the Slytherin girl off in a mock gesture that showed she was just an impudent snot-nosed blood purist to him. At least that's the way he had made it look, but he didn't glare at anyone as he realized his ego had indeed shown itself, and the Slytherin's comments hadn't bothered him. Not one bit, even as his agitated look for a moment almost made him draw his wand, but he stayed his hand with the other champions present. Remembering to be civil right now, but he was still rather concerned about Hugo Weasley, it wasn't like him to be late to the ceremony.
James had his suspicions as he was ready to just about blast every Slytherin he saw at the table earlier discussing when those two had come in. It really didn't take much for him to put two and two together, there had been a serious issue to make the Deputy Headmaster run out like that. Worry filled his features, but he was excited more so to be the other Gryffindor champion. In his own rights he deserved this more than anything, but he figured that Albus probably deserved it more. Being the outcast in the family, however, he wasn't about to go any lighter on him now that he had a suspicion about what happened.
Kingsley would surely tell them about what was going on, especially since he was old friend of his dad's. Well, that was James's reasoning anyways and he was sticking it. Glancing over at Scorpius, great, he had been chosen too? A sneer escaped his lips as he glanced over the room, and not a dang thing was in sight. What was with it when that you were always being chosen it was on an empty stomach? James's stomach was soon growling, and he probably wasn't the only one. Looking around the plain room, except he did lean against the wall near Alaya as she spoke to him.
Typical James, that's what they would always say, whenever his ego got out of control. Glancing over to Dunstable, raising a curious eyebrow in return, but this wasn't just an odd coincidence at all. Only Scoprius and Albus had been the males to enter their names. James sort of figured it out by the time the male and female champions had been named off that there would be more champions. No wonder Headmaster Shacklebolt had been so secretive. James was more excited to figure out what their hint would be for the first task or even when it would be revealed as to what they were doing. Anticipation was too much and now he was getting impatient as well.
Responding to Alaya, "What? I can't help it, it just feels great, and yes my ego did get out of hand. Oh, I almost forgot you were here what with your pride and all standing in the way, oh and congratulations Dunstable, proud of ya!" he said the last part towards Theresa and Scorpius. A grin on his face again, as he wasn't serious, even though sarcasm was fluent in the last sentence as well. Was he trying to start a fight? Maybe.

Kingsley had indeed heard about the talk and figured mentioning it to the champions now would have been a mistake to ruin their hopes for now. Even as concern had washed over his face when Professor Longbottom had told him the news, and he had to remind himself that this was going to be between him and the staff for now. The students wouldn't know about the attack until after they had been briefed on why he had come to the Champion's room. It had seemed ages since the Goblet of Fire Ceremony had started and just as quickly it had ended. Kingsley now had to make preparations for the first task, which itself, would be hard as is.
Now he had to think of what he was going to say as he finally left the Great Hall to move into the back room. Looking around at the plain walls, he figured they were hungry after all that anticipation had started up, so decided to give them some food, as well as some beverages to get more relaxed. Eight chairs plopped up in a row with each respective houses mark on it. Of course he purposely made Gryffindor and Slytherin on Opposite ends as usually, then it was Hufflepuff, followed by Ravenclaw in the middle. Sure he didn't know how much the students like or disliked one another, but this wasn't the time to be sniveling or quarreling.
Kingsley thought that was a great way to start this off as Professor Longbottom would surely follow after him. Of course upon entering the room, he was sure he heard all of the Champions go quiet as they knew he was there all of a sudden with news of the tasks or whatever else there may be. "Now, congratulations on being the champions to represent your houses, even so, that doesn't mean you should be relaxed just yet. After all, the first task is coming up soon, and the details of it are in hushed tones right now. I am not allowed to say what it is until it actually happens later on throughout the year, as you may know, we have two champions representing each house. Now also, for the first task you will be working in teams for your respective House.
So that means you won't be facing this all by yourself, which must come as a relief to most. For some, this will be a challenge, but I know you will all overcome your differences to work together," glancing towards most of them for a moment, considering that a few of them did get quite well along with each other. It would be a shame to have to pit them against each other in a task later on. Not that he was going to as he let the words sink in at that time.

Scorpius rolled his eyes at James before smirking at Theia's comment. She was right, this wasn’t a game for little boys and as far as Scorpius was concerned, Potter was the biggest child here. He glared at James, about to comment on Potter when he heard the female Ravenclaw speak up at Theia. "Exactly how does Theia have an inflated ego?" he asked Claire in a tone that wasn’t exactly nice. Whatever the answer way, he didn’t listen as he watched the door once more opened and in walked the headmaster.
Relax yet, yea he wasn’t going to relax until he had won the tournament. And then Professor Shacklebolt announced they were working in teams for the first challenge. He glanced at Theia and smiled her way. At least he had someone he could get along with most of the time and if they wanted to win the first task, he was sure they would be able to put their differences aside and then bicker afterwards. He turned to Alaya and smirked. "Hey Alaya, hope you don’t feel too bad having the brainless and talentless Potter on your team, hope he doesn’t drag you behind too much." His words were both an insult to James and hopefully make his ego to big that when it came time for the first task, he'd fault in it. "Seeing as you can’t tell us what the task is, can you at least tell us the exact date of it?" he asked, wondering if anyone else was wondering when the task was coming.
